Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 764: Chapter 758: Luu Xiao’ai is Here

Meanwhile, at the Chus’, it was unclear how Luu Xiao’ai got the news, but she followed her grandfather to the Chus’ home.

As soon as they entered, they saw Chu Zhan and his wife each playing happily with a child. This left a bad taste in Luu Xiao’ai’s mouth. Wasn’t she supposed to be the granddaughter-in-law of the Chus? Why were they now joyfully holding children born to other women? Were their words so unreliable?

“Grandpa Chu, Mrs. Chu, I’m here,” said Luu Xiao’ai, restraining her temper and greeting them.

However, Grandpa Luu didn’t have as much patience. Were they going to push the Luus around just because they thought no one from the family would object?

“Mr. Chu, what’s the meaning of this? If we hadn’t heard the news and come to see for ourselves, I wouldn’t have believed it.” Grandpa Luu looked at Chu Zhan’s happy expression. He, too, was envious, but that wasn’t his great-grandson, which enraged him. It made him feel like his Xiao’ai had been dismissed.

“Mr. Luu, listen to me. You can see that Linlin isn’t willing. He’s been away for so many years. If he liked Miss Xiao’ai, I wouldn’t hesitate to let them divorce and marry her.

...
But he hasn’t come back all this time, which means he isn’t interested in Xiao’ai. Besides, he’s married now, and you can see he already has a child. If you force him to marry Xiao’ai now, it would be so unfair to her, wouldn’t it?

How about we let this go? The Chus are the ones who wronged Xiao’ai. If you have any demands, just tell us, and we’ll do our best to accommodate. What do you think?” Chu Zhan felt helpless. It was a pity that he, at his age, had to apologize so humbly.

He had no idea that his grandson would be so stubborn. When the engagement was arranged back then, Molin simply said he didn’t agree, and left after saying whoever wanted it could have it. He didn’t return for years. Chu Zhan thought he would come around eventually, but he hadn’t expected him to marry and have a child outside.

Now, they had two lovely children. What could he, as their grandfather, do? Moreover, his wife liked the current granddaughter-in-law, and had been arguing with him. He couldn’t resist, so he figured that blessings should come naturally to his descendants and couldn’t be forced.

Now that Mr. Luu was here, it was better to take this opportunity to clarify everything and avoid talking about it again in the future. He just hoped Mr. Luu would understand that a forced union wouldn’t be sweet.

“Mr. Chu, what do you mean? Are you going back on your word? You’re changing your mind because of these two children?” Grandpa Luu couldn’t believe that his old comrade would change his mind so easily. What about his girl?

“Mr. Luu, you can see that Linlin doesn’t like Xiao’ai. Forcing them together would only make them unhappy, and it would ruin Xiao’ai’s life.

Even if we made him divorce his wife and be with Xiao’ai, his heart would still be with another woman, right? If Xiao’ai knew that she wasn’t the one he truly loved, how would she feel? It wouldn’t be love. It would be hurting her.” Miao Qingqing knew what this pain was like and didn’t want Luu Xiao’ai to taste it again since it was far too bitter for Chu Molin and his wife.

“What about our Xiao’ai? Has she been waiting all these years for nothing?” After listening to Miao Qingqing, Grandpa Luu knew that she had a point, but it was still too unfair to his little girl. She had been waiting for ten years!

“Mr. Luu, apart from this matter, we, the Chus, will do everything we can for Xiao’ai. Please think about her and just let this go. Xiao’ai, you understand what I’m saying, right?” Miao Qingqing looked at Luu Xiao’ai and asked.

“Grandma, I understand,” Luu Xiao’ai replied, interrupting her grandfather who was about to speak, and then pursed her lips.
