Global Grave Digging: My Reward Increased Ten Thousand Times

119: The starship crashes on the Zerg planet! The Starship had been traveling for three days.

Lin Fei and Ryunosuke were both waiting quietly.

They knew very well that the mission to Saka Star would not be that simple to complete.

There were subsequent challenges ahead.

Sure enough.

The expected event still happened.

A piercing alarm sounded in the command room.

”Warning! Warning! Unidentified armed ship detected approaching at high speed! The opponent’s weapon System has locked onto our Starship!”

In the bridge command room, the One-Eyed Captain stood up abruptly from his seat, a flash of ferocity in his aged single eye: ”Pirates?! They actually dare to target our Interstellar Alliance transport ship! This is outrageous. Connect me to their communication!”

”Yes!”

However, as soon as the communication was connected, the other side didn’t waste any time talking.

A thick beam of energy blasted from the pirate ship’s main cannon, accurately hitting the engine section of the medium-sized Starship!

Boom—!!!

A violent explosion occurred at the rear of the Starship, causing the entire Starship to shake violently.

Inside the passenger dining hall, Lin Fei and the others also felt this intense vibration, and plates and wine glasses clattered all over the floor.

”What’s going on?!” Wang Hu stumbled and almost fell.

”It’s a pirate attack!” Zhao Zicong said with a terrified expression, ”Look outside the porthole!”

”Attention all passengers! This Starship is under attack by space pirates! The engines are severely damaged! The Starship is losing control! Please put on your life-saving equipment immediately and follow the indicator lights to the emergency escape pods!”

The One-Eyed Captain’s voice came over the broadcast again, his tone filled with a trace of anxiety and anger.

However, before everyone could react, another, even more violent explosion sounded!

This time, the pirate’s artillery fire seemed to hit an important area of the Starship, and the Starship’s shield was breached.

Subsequently, the hull began to suffer large-scale damage.

Crackle!

The Starship’s power System was destroyed.

The lights went out in patches.

Only the emergency red lights were left flickering.

Those players who had signed up to be part of the Starship guard team now received an emergency mission issued by the One-Eyed Captain, requiring them to board small assault ships to launch a boarding operation against the pirate ship, attempting to disable the opponent’s weapon System.

”What! Boarding battle, you want me to go?”

”This is ridiculous!”

”This is just too unlucky.” Some players were completely stunned; they actually encountered such a thing.

Going to board now was clearly just going to their deaths!

But there was no choice.

If they didn’t go, they would likely be executed immediately by the guard team.

The pirate ship’s firepower was fierce, and those assault ships that flew out...

...were like fallen leaves in a gale amidst the dense artillery fire.

Many assault ships were destroyed directly before they could even get close, and the players inside perished along with them.

However, there were still some assault ships that, under the control of the elite guard team, successfully approached and boarded the opponent’s ship.

This temporarily delayed the opponent’s attack.

But the Starship’s guard team also suffered heavy casualties, almost completely wiped out.

The battle lasted for nearly an hour.

”Abandon ship! Abandon ship immediately!”

The One-Eyed Captain helplessly issued the final order; he knew this medium-sized Starship could no longer be saved.

Fortunately, a large number of passengers had already entered the escape pods.

Rumble!

After another round of precise shelling from the pirate ship, the hull of the medium-sized Starship was cut in half.

Accompanied by a violent explosion, it fell toward a desolate, earthy-yellow planet below.

Lin Fei and the others, relying on their reaction speeds far exceeding ordinary people and their powerful physical fitness...

...found an escape pod at the first opportunity and successfully detached under the control of the mechanic in their team.

After the world spun around, the escape pod, carrying a violent impact force, smashed hard onto a Gobi desert covered with craggy rocks.

...

”Cough, cough!”

Lin Fei regained his senses from the violent shock.

Everything felt like a cutscene in a game, something he had no control over at all.

It was as if it were a necessary plot progression; the Starship had to crash, then lead into the next phase.

”We are lucky; this planet was once a human base, the atmosphere has been completely improved, the temperature difference between day and night is not too high, and overall, it is still habitable for humans.

”But we are also unfortunate; this base was invaded by the Zerg and completely fell!”

The One-Eyed Captain’s voice came from the escape pod’s broadcast.

Lin Fei narrowed his eyes; this meant that on this desolate planet, there was no need to wear an oxygen mask?

People had already gone out from other surrounding escape pods.

After confirming that it was safe outside.

Lin Fei pushed open the deformed hatch and walked out.

Immediately after, Lin Mengzi, Ishida Ryunosuke, Zhao Zicong, Wang Hu, and others...

...also climbed out of their respective escape pods one after another. Although they were all a bit disheveled, fortunately, no one was seriously injured.

”Damn! My life experience is now complete; I actually experienced a spaceship crash!”

Wang Hu smacked his lips, looking not far away at the wreckage of the Starship that had completely turned into a pile of burning scrap metal.

Around the wreckage were other fallen escape pods.

”It seems this is the real difficulty of this trial.” Zhao Zicong pushed up his glasses and said.

”Is this Saka Star? It probably isn’t, the original plan was to fly for seven days, so how are we going to get from here to Saka Star?”

Ryunosuke was extremely surprised.

”Wait for what the One-Eyed Captain says next.”

Lin Fei looked up at the sky.

He saw the sky of this planet presenting a strange dark red color.

Other scattered survivors also climbed out of their respective escape pods; many were injured, and their faces were filled with the terror of having survived a disaster.

Soon.

The One-Eyed Captain also successfully escaped and brought people to regroup.

A trace of sorrow appeared on his aged face, but he quickly pulled himself together.

”Everyone! Although we have encountered a misfortune, it is not yet time to despair!”

He said in a loud voice, ”I have successfully contacted the main ship! They will immediately dispatch a rescue team! However!”

He changed the subject, his tone becoming extremely heavy: ”The rescue team will take at least seven days to arrive.

And according to the star map, this planet is a dangerous planet occupied by the Zerg!

Even worse, our Starship cargo hold was blown up by that group of damn pirates! We are now severely lacking water and food!”

Once these words were spoken, the survivors were immediately in an uproar.

The glimmer of hope that had just risen was instantly extinguished by more than half.

Seven days!

On this dangerous, desolate planet, without food, without water.

And having to constantly guard against possible Zerg attacks, how could they survive for seven days!

You have to know, the most dangerous thing in this world is not eating, not drinking, and not sleeping.

Many survivors revealed expressions of despair.

[Ding! Emergency mission triggered: Survival on the Desolate Planet!]

[Mission Objective: Successfully survive for seven days on this desolate planet filled with Zerg, waiting for rescue.]

[Mission Hint: Keep your Sanity, Satiety, and Hydration levels above the safety line.

Otherwise, you will soon face the threat of death.

The environment of this planet is extremely harsh, and Zerg attacks may come at any time.]

[Optional Mission: Guard the Starship wreckage, help the One-Eyed Captain collect food, water sources, and herbs, rescue the wounded, and defend against Zerg attacks.

Completing the optional mission will greatly increase your favorability in this world and give you a chance to obtain mysterious rewards.

This world is the unified macro-world of the 11th-20th floors of the Node Tower; different floor entrances of the Node Tower can lead to different arrival points in the macro-world.]

The System prompt sounded in all the players’ minds.

This sudden change turned the originally relatively easy mission into a cruel survival in the wilderness in an instant.

However, for Lin Fei and Lin Mengzi, the problem of food and water was not too big.

The supplies they purchased from the official store included a large amount of compressed food and purified water, and their safety backpacks were also piled full, enough to support their consumption for ten days to half a month.

Other players, like Ishida Ryunosuke and the others, had also prepared some more or less.

However, the situation was even worse for those ordinary Starship passenger NPCs.

The One-Eyed Captain looked at the despair on everyone’s faces and spoke again: ”I know this is very difficult!

But we cannot give up!

Fortunately, there is a previous human base on this planet; perhaps we can collect some useful things.

Furthermore, there are still some injured crew members and passengers on the Starship who need help!

I implore all passengers with the ability to lend a helping hand, to help us collect food, find water sources, and gather herbs for healing!”

His voice was filled with exhaustion, but his eyes remained firm.

”I guarantee in the name of the Interstellar Alliance Captain that everyone who has helped us will receive the friendship of the Interstellar Alliance and generous rewards!”

After speaking, he bowed deeply to the crowd.

Ishida Ryunosuke and the others looked at each other; clearly, they were hesitant about accepting this optional mission.

After all, in a situation where they could barely protect themselves, helping others would undoubtedly increase their own risks.

Moreover, no one knew how powerful the Zerg on this planet really were.

As for Lin Fei, he noticed a prompt from the System.

The map for the next ten floors was this entire macro-world.

If the previous trial was a single-player mini-game.

Then now, it had become a large-scale online game.

If this was the case, obtaining the favorability of a transcendent major power seemed very necessary.
