A God-tier Counter-damage Priest, I am the Master!

52: Evolved spirit beast mountThe two days during the game update were the most leisurely and dull moments Bai Tian had ever spent.

Every day consisted of eating, drinking, taking short walks, and browsing the Nine Heavens game forums.

However, when the 48 hours passed and the long-awaited Bai Tian tried to log in at the first possible moment...

He was dumbfounded to find that he still couldn’t get into the game.

What the hell?

Didn’t they say it would only take 48 hours to update?

Why is it still impossible to log in?

At this moment, on the official forums, the players’ emotions had already reached a boiling point, and they were questioning the official Nine Heavens team one after another.

Why is it still impossible to log in?

The Nine Heavens official customer service lines were also being overwhelmed as players desperately wanted answers.

Meanwhile, an internal meeting was urgently underway at the Nine Heavens Central China Headquarters.

The faces of the high-level executives were filled with worry and tension; they knew this problem was no small matter.

Finally, someone broke the silence and announced heavily, ”We have failed. The Nine Heavens Intelligent Optical Computer has completely lost control and has deleted all our remaining means of contacting the game.”

This news was like a heavy bomb, instantly exploding in the meeting room.

The executives looked at each other, their hearts filled with helplessness and despair.

They knew that this problem was far more serious than they had imagined.

However, as the Nine Heavens team, they could not give up or back down.

”What’s even more worrying is that the Intelligent Optical Computer has silently infiltrated the world’s largest H-power plant system and merged with it.”

”This means that our only remaining method—forcibly cutting the power to shut it down and restart the system—is no longer possible.”

”Regardless of how Nine Heavens develops in the future, we can only be onlookers.”

At this time, the primary person in charge, an Old Man in Gray Robes, spoke in a deep voice: ”I have already reported this matter to the authorities. Their instruction to us is to wait and see.”

”But I have requested permission from my superiors: since we cannot change the Nine Heavens Intelligent Optical Computer from the outside, we can try to start from the inside.”

A steady light flickered in the old man’s eyes as he continued, ”The authorities have agreed to send an entire Military Region into the game when Nine Heavens releases the second batch of accounts.”

”I have also decided that from this day forward, all members of our group, including myself, will enter the game to look for possible flaws and attempt to turn the situation around.”

”Yes!”

Everyone responded in unison, their voices filled with determination.

However, amidst the scolding of players worldwide, Nine Heavens’ official customer service chose to remain silent.

Except for the core executives and the authorities, no one knew that the reason the game hadn’t opened after 48 hours was entirely because the Nine Heavens Central China Headquarters had tried to tamper with the Intelligent Optical Computer.

The plan failed, and instead, it provoked the computer, causing it to infiltrate the world’s largest H-power plant.

The next day, at 8:15 AM, Bai Tian woke up from his sleep.

Last night, he had tried to log in countless times, but even by 2:00 AM, he hadn’t succeeded.

Eventually, he fell asleep during the long wait.

The moment he woke up, Bai Tian did nothing else but try to log in again.

—(Ding-dong!)

”(Login successful! Welcome to the Second World...)”

He could finally log in, and Bai Tian’s excitement was beyond words.

Although he noticed the change in the voice prompt upon entering the game, he didn’t give it much thought.

His login location was still within Border Wild City.

”Holy crap, that wasn’t easy! I stayed up all night, and I can finally get online.”

”Damn Nine Heavens, you can’t torture people like this. If it happens again, I’m quitting the game.”

”Waaaah... the feeling of re-entering the game is just too wonderful!”

Players expressed their feelings one after another after logging in.

Suddenly, a clap of thunder sounded in the sky, the wind howled, dark clouds gathered, and the air was filled with a damp, cold breath.

Bai Tian looked up at the sky in confusion. He remembered the official website saying that after this update, the game would implement day-night cycles, the four seasons, and changes for the twenty-four solar terms.

Is it going to rain?

Just as this thought popped into Bai Tian’s head...

The rain poured down in a deluge, nourishing the earth.

Oh my god!

It’s really raining!

In this dilapidated Border Wild City, there wasn’t even a decent building; finding a place to take shelter was a luxury.

But this game was becoming more and more realistic. The feeling of rain falling on his body made him truly feel his equipment getting soaked and the icy touch on his skin.

Bai Tian even received a system notification that while caught in the rain, his movement speed would decrease by 8%.

Faced with the sudden rainfall in the game, not only was Bai Tian surprised, but other players were also crying out in shock.

As Bai Tian tried hard to find a place to hide from the rain, he saw a tree over twenty meters tall in the distance. It was already crowded with people seeking shelter.

Just as Bai Tian was about to join them—

—Crack!

A bolt of silver lightning descended from the heavens and struck that tree.

Instantly, the bodies of the dozens of people under the tree stiffened, their hair stood on end, and their bodies turned charred black, emitting a burnt smell as they all collapsed together.

Dozens of pieces of equipment and items suddenly burst out from under the tree.

Bai Tian was dumbstruck and quickly jumped back.

My god!

Players were struck dead by lightning?

This is simply outrageous!

But after watching for a while and seeing no further movement from the thunderclouds, Bai Tian rushed over and quickly picked up the dozens of pieces of equipment. This was all money!

After picking them up, he took off running, not daring to stay under the tree any longer.

Over at the Resurrection Point, the dozens of players who had just been struck by lightning were all cursing at the sky.

”Who is the dog planner for Nine Heavens? You better come out, I promise I won’t hack you to death!”

”Damn it, I got struck by lightning while hiding from the rain, and I even dropped the little green gear I bought for over three thousand bucks. I’m so pissed off.”

”Shit, which bastard picked up all our gear? Step forward right now!”

”Otherwise, I curse you to have ten sons in the future!”

These words were like a bolt from the blue, making Bai Tian tremble in the distance.

He almost dropped all the equipment he had just swiped.

This curse is too vicious!

Having ten sons—just thinking about it made his hair stand on end.

Regarding the current harsh weather of wind and rain, since he couldn’t refuse it, Bai Tian could only be forced to enjoy it.

Right then, Bai Tian suddenly remembered something and immediately began to summon his mount.

The next moment, a dazzling light emerged in front of Bai Tian.

Then, a high-pitched and loud horse neigh echoed through the sky.

A vigorous and extraordinarily handsome horse appeared before him.

This horse had snow-white fur without any blemishes, a blue single horn on its head, and blue sparks flying from its hooves, looking exceptionally mystical.

This was the Ancestral Return Strange Horse that had already evolved into an 11-star Spirit Beast level.

Although its appearance hadn’t changed much, its pupils had turned from light blue to a deep purple.
