The System Arrives: Leading My Clan to Become the Strongest

66: Chapter 66 Ji ChanggengPerhaps it was because they had been comfortable for too long, or perhaps the Great Wilderness inspired fear.

It caused some powerful members of the Human Race to lose their ambition, while small families, needing to develop, could only depend on these powerful ones.

Of course, there were also confident families who once again ventured into the uninhabited Great Wilderness to open up territories and establish Family-states, like the Yuan Kingdom, which was also a nation established by the Old Ancestor of the Yuan Kingdom.

”Human Lord, what do you think?”

Great Elder looked at Cang Xuan, who was seated above, and asked. Currently, the Human Ancestral Court was still ruled by Cang Xuan; although he was the Grand Elder, there were some boundaries he could not overstep.

He knew a bit about Cang Xuan’s thoughts, but had no way to offer counsel.

Back then, Xie Wuchen had left without a word. At that time, the Human Race had just arrived in this unfamiliar territory and was struggling to survive, walking on thin ice every step of the way, nearly facing total annihilation.

Although they eventually pulled through with difficulty, the Human Race lost seventy percent of its population.

At that time, Cang Xuan, who only had Golden Core strength, was filled with endless resentment toward Xie Wuchen. He felt that the reason the Human Race suffered such losses was all because of Xie Wuchen; if Xie Wuchen hadn’t left, and they had one more top-tier powerhouse, perhaps not so many would have fallen, and their initial survival would not have been so difficult.

After that incident, only the Grand Elder remained among the powerhouses of the Human Race; all others had perished during that period.

Over the past ninety thousand years, the Human Race has undergone development to reach its current vast population.

But because of the surrounding Great Wilderness, it was impossible for the Human Race to develop without limits.

”You decide.”

Cang Xuan looked at the Grand Elder and spoke slowly.

Ninety thousand years have passed, and the Seals placed by the former powerhouses of the Human Race are nearly exhausted. Now, if the Human Race wants to survive, it must unite all the forces it can.

Unfortunately, the Human Race has been given too little time to develop. If there were another hundred thousand years, perhaps they could overcome this crisis.

”Star Lord Wuchen, I wonder how much longer you can hold out?”

The Grand Elder looked at Xie Wuchen and asked.

Although he also had a premonition, he wasn’t clear on the specific timing.

If he knew the exact time, he could make arrangements to be fully prepared.

”If there are no accidents, there are still a thousand years; if something unexpected happens, we’ll only have five hundred years. It’s too tight.”

Xie Wuchen also spoke solemnly with a grim expression.

”What? There’s only that much time left?”

Hearing Xie Wuchen’s answer, Great Elder’s face also turned pale.

Even Cang Xuan, seated above, looked grim.

Now, after many years of development, the Human Race does have powerhouses—even more top-tier ones than before—but remembering the tragedy of the past, even with so many experts gathered, the result would likely be similar to back then, without a decisive victory.

A silence fell within the Ancestral Court. The Human Race had come a long way, weathering many storms, and now they were once again facing a moment of life and death.

”Next, we must develop the Human Race as quickly as possible, selecting promising youths and striving to help them grow quickly in this final stretch of time.”

Although Xie Wuchen had always been at Star Cliff, he still had some understanding of the Human Race.

The Human Race now numbered in the trillions; even if it were one in ten thousand, they could still select ten billion geniuses.

”At the same time, my Star Cliff will be open to these geniuses. In this final period, how much the Human Race can improve will depend on the will of heaven.”

Xie Wuchen sighed helplessly.

”What? You’re willing to open Star Cliff?”

Hearing Xie Wuchen say he would open Star Cliff for the Human Race to enter and Cultivate, they were equally astonished.

Star Cliff, through Xie Wuchen’s arrangements over the years, contained the Law of Time; cultivating on Star Cliff for one year was equivalent to a hundred years outside.

”However, you know that if I let too many people in, the consumption of Spirit Stones will be astronomical. I don’t have that many Spirit Stones, so you’ll have to figure that out yourselves.”

Xie Wuchen spoke again.

”Alright, rest assured, my Ancestral Court will gather the Spirit Stones as quickly as possible.”

The Grand Elder said excitedly.

”In that case, I’ll take my leave first.”

With the matter resolved, Xie Wuchen didn’t want to linger and turned, vanishing within the Ancestral Court.

”Human Lord.”

Seeing Xie Wuchen leave, the Grand Elder looked at Cang Xuan.

”Go and make the arrangements. Say that in one year, the Ancestral Court will select and train talented Disciples. Have those nations conduct their own screenings first, and then they can come to the Ancestral Court for the final selection.”

Cang Xuan said to the Grand Elder, his eyes looking outside the Ancestral Court with a firm gaze. This time, he would lead the Human Race to resolve this disaster, even if it meant his own demise.

”Yes.”

Great Elder bowed and left the Ancestral Court, beginning the intensive process of dispatching Ancestral Court Guards to various nations to spread the news.

Before long, the nations received the news from the Ancestral Court and erupted in joy, never imagining they were about to face an impending crisis for the Human Race.

”Send out the notice: hold a National Genius Challenge.”

”Send out the notice: hold a National Youth Hidden Dragon Competition.”

”Send out the notice: hold a National Prodigy Selection Tournament.”

In an instant, all nations began holding youth Genius challenges in preparation for the Ancestral Court Grand Competition in one year.

Yuan Kingdom.

In the capital, seeing the news brought by the Ancestral Court caused a shock. Was this a stroke of sheer luck or a perfect coincidence?

He had already sent out notices to hold the Hundred Year Green Peak Martial Assembly, and now the Ancestral Court had come knocking; he would gladly accept this.

Tianxuan Sect.

After a night of fighting, the Desolate Beast Tide was finally resolved, but the Elders were all heavily injured.

The Disciples suffered even heavier losses, especially the ones who had recently joined the Sect; they were nearly all dead.

Sect Main Hall.

”This Desolate Beast Tide appeared without any warning. Does anyone know the reason?”

On the Sect Master’s throne, Ye Jinglan looked at the Elders and asked.

However, the hall was silent.

This Desolate Beast Tide arrived so suddenly that they were completely unprepared.

In the past, whenever a Desolate Beast Tide occurred, there would at least be omens, and it would take time for the beasts to gather, giving them enough time to prepare.

But this time there was no warning; the Desolate Beast Tide seemed to appear out of nowhere, catching them off guard.

”What is the status of the Sect’s casualties?”

Seeing everyone silent, Ye Jinglan knew he was making things difficult for them. Although he wanted to know, it seemed he would have to ask the Old Ancestor to take a trip himself to see what was happening in the Great Wilderness.

”Reporting to the Sect Master, the Sect’s losses this time are severe. The ordinary Utility Disciples are almost completely wiped out, the Outer Sect Disciples have lost eighty percent, and while the Inner Sect Disciples are better off, their losses still reached ten percent.”

An Elder spoke up.

After the Desolate Beast Tide was resolved, he had tallied the Disciple casualties, so he answered fluently this time.

”Hmph.”

Hearing that the losses were so heavy, Ye Jinglan snorted coldly, causing all the Elders present to shudder.

”Alright, I understand. Recover from your injuries quickly.”

Ye Jinglan waved his hand at the Elders, signaling them to leave.

”Yes.”

The Elders bowed respectfully and turned to leave the hall one by one.
