Devouring Evolution: Devouring Nuclear Bombs at the Start

118: Chapter 118 The Exile PlanSouth Pole Mountain was extremely hard, but under the strike of a weapon like the ’star shatterer’—which was theoretically designed to destroy stars—it was blown apart until only a small section remained.

After the dust and smoke dissipated, only a base remained of South Pole Mountain.

Black rubble was everywhere; some fragments were even accelerated to the first cosmic velocity of the Eighteen Stars, escaping the planet with trails of red exhaust flames.

...

*Gulp.*

After seeing this scene, the Chief subconsciously swallowed hard.

Although they had used the ’star shatterer’ against Lin Sheng before and understood its power,

that time they were using it on someone else. Now that the target of the ’star shatterer’ had become themselves, the people of Origin Star truly felt its power, which was as devastating as a natural disaster.

As the dust cleared, the Chief stared intently at the ruins of South Pole Mountain and spoke in a low voice over the communication channel.

”You must find out the source of this ’star shatterer’.”

”Chief, there’s no need to investigate. We might already have the answer.”

At that moment, a subordinate standing beside the Chief suddenly pointed at an image in the corner, his voice laced with a hint of fear.

Hearing this, the Chief’s gaze followed the direction of the finger.

With just one look, the Chief’s eyes suddenly widened.

”Why is it still alive?”

”How is this possible!”

Upon seeing the terrifying monster on the screen, its body full of metallic texture, the Chief lost his usual composure and became somewhat agitated.

”Chief, it seems to have discovered us.”

Meanwhile, the subordinate next to him suddenly pointed at Lin Sheng on the corner screen, a panicked question escaping his mouth.

...

After detonating the ’star shatterer’, Lin Sheng left the Black Belt.

Only after coming out did he realize that the Eighteen Stars had been filled with probes by the people of Origin Star.

While these probes couldn’t achieve full-coverage monitoring of the Eighteen Stars, basic global surveillance was within their reach.

Lin Sheng approached a probe and stared into its lens; his eyes seemed able to see through the lens to the scene on the other side.

Through the probe’s electromagnetic signals and the assistance of ’Omniscience’, Lin Sheng could indeed ’see’ the images on the other side.

He ’saw’ some people of Origin Star observing him from afar through this probe.

Facing this situation, Lin Sheng gave the probe a slight smile.

A scalp-numbing mechanical voice rang out from his mouth:

”Cherish the brief time you have left.”

”Do not attempt to run, for you cannot escape.”

As the words fell, Lin Sheng directly used a burst of strong electromagnetic pulses to destroy the probes in this area.

”Chief, we...”

”Notify the high-level officials of the Expeditionary Force to come to the ’expedition vessel’ for a meeting.”

The ’expedition vessel’ was the Chief’s personal vessel and the command ship for the entire Expeditionary Force.

Not long after the Chief’s order was issued, the high-level officials of the Expeditionary Force quickly gathered inside the ’expedition vessel’.

”I intend to activate the ’exile plan’. Who among you is willing to be the ’Exile Commander’?”

Hearing the words ’exile plan’, everyone present widened their eyes.

Some of them were still unclear about what had happened, only knowing that the Energy Mountain had been attacked.

But if it were just an attack, the Chief would not have proposed this plan at all.

To put it bluntly, the ’exile plan’ meant that the civilization had been pushed to a dead end with no hope of continuation; they could only seek a sliver of life through escape.

Looking at his confused subordinates, the Chief presented the images just transmitted by the probe to everyone.

After seeing these images, everyone present fell silent.

The first to break the silence was the rather hot-tempered Captain of the Second Fleet, Ting.

His face was flushed red. Looking at the silent crowd, Ting roared loudly:

”Has a single lifeform scared you all like this?”

”No matter how powerful or incomprehensible it is, it is ultimately just a single biological individual.”

”The ’star shatterer’ can destroy it. Even if it can mysteriously resurrect, as long as we destroy it enough times, I don’t believe it can keep coming back!”

Ting’s spit flew everywhere. In his view, there was nothing one ’star shatterer’ couldn’t solve; if there was, then use a few more.

”Things are not as simple as you think.”

”If there were even a slight possibility of resolving it, I would never have proposed the ’exile plan’.”

The Chief sighed and turned his gaze toward Yi Di.

As a researcher, Yi Di saw much more than a guy like Ting, whose head was only filled with fighting.

After the Chief looked at him, Yi Di spoke up to explain on the Chief’s behalf:

”Have you all forgotten the situation back on our home planet?”

”Have you forgotten how our home planet was destroyed?”

”What the Leader is worried about is not that creature itself, but the means by which that creature destroyed the home planet. Or rather, he is worried about the civilization behind that creature!”

At the mention of that unknown civilization, Yi Di instantly wilted.

The helplessness of a low-level civilization facing a High-Level Civilization was perfectly illustrated at this moment.

”A High-Level Civilization...”

Ting also let out a long sigh toward the sky.

”Therefore, the ’exile plan’ proposed by the Chief must be implemented. Who among you is willing to carry out this plan?”

While everyone was still immersed in the despair brought by the High-Level Civilization, Yi Di continued.

He didn’t want to go into exile or flee during his civilization’s crisis, so he cleverly shifted his identity from a designated participant to the one asking the question.

Except for the Chief and a few quick-witted individuals who saw through Yi Di’s intentions, most people, including Ting, were led along by Yi Di.

They argued with each other, as no one wanted to abandon their civilization in its time of peril.

Time for a monthly summary.

I checked the tipping leaderboard for this book, and it’s ranked 1,300th. Since China only has one Fanqie Reading, and all Fanqie novels in China are on Fanqie Reading, rounding it off, this book’s ranking can be considered ’Top 1,500 in all of China,’ right?

Do you think I’m right?
