Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 1184: Casting Process Part 1

”Young Master, big trouble! We’re under attack by the Reaver Clan!” A man cried aloud in panic.

As they tried to rush over, they accidentally stumbled across a small pebble and fell face-first to the ground.

Their nose quickly turned red from the fall, but they ignored the pain and quickly got up to inform the Vanguard Clan’s Young Master.

”Those despicable people of the Reaver Clan are using the officials to ban our shops from operating!” They said with a choking tone.

”Okay, that’s enough!” Before the man could continue, Chen Kexin raised her hand and stopped the man from continuing the audition.

”You can have the extra role of a Vanguard Clan’s servant. Are you willing to accept it?”

Ding Xiao Ying and Li Sheng Xuan silently agreed with Chen Kexin’s decision.

Although the man performed a scene of informing the Young Master of a crisis, even going as far as injuring themselves to depict the severity.

It ultimately failed to capture their attention.

The crying was rather fake and almost annoying, to say the least.

Moreover, the tone of speech was completely wrong.

”The Young Master of Vanguard Clan, based on the scenes you acted in, has already cemented itself as a revived powerhouse in the Daxia Dynasty. How could you still panic like a little kid after some minor setbacks?” Chen Kexin remarked.

Embarrassed by the critics, the man could only lower his head. He thought his acting was spot on, but he failed to completely capture the essence of this scene.

If it were any other short drama production, then he would have easily gotten a supporting character role.

However, in this short drama, he could only become an extra, which was a mega downgrade.

”I’m afraid I cannot accept the extra role.” The man cupped his fist and replied respectfully. He didn’t dare to lash out because he knew the opposing party was not something the likes of him could offend.

Not to mention, they weren’t targeting him specifically either. The criticism was hard on the ears, but it was constructive and logical.

Just the fact that he was given 30 seconds to act out a scene was already generous enough.

Chen Kexin didn’t bother to persuade the latter.

”You may leave the center. Thank you for your time.” She said professionally and called for the next person to perform.

The next candidate to audition was a female named Wen Ling.

Wen Ling was about to speak the role she wanted to play, but was halted by Li Sheng Xuan, who took over the judging role this time.

”No need to tell me who you want to play or the scene you want to act in. We want to see it without being informed.” Li Sheng Xuan said.

A competent actor would easily immerse the audience as soon as they acted.

There was no need for a small pleasantries exchange.

A short drama episode only lasted 2 minutes.

To summarize, each second was extremely vital to the scene and could not be wasted on useless fillers.

”I understand.” Wen Ling nodded her head. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath.

With the center of the stage now belonging to her for 30 seconds, Wen Ling opened her eyes after a moment.

Her demeanor and aura quickly changed to that of a fierce general.

”Your Majesty, these two clans have gone too far! In the Daxia Dynasty, how dare they blaspheme the land and cause an internal war?” Wen Ling exclaimed in a cold tone.

”The commoners are suffering from their fight. Their cries are echoing everywhere. I implore Your Majesty to deploy me to suppress these two clans!”

Right now, Wen Ling was the embodiment of a loyal general belonging to the Royal Family of the Daxia Dynasty.

Her temperament and aura had exuded the general’s essence and became the center of attention.

The auditioners waiting in line were flabbergasted and found themselves caught in the mood.

As for the judge panel, which consisted of Xu Feng and the three women, they were silent.

’Not bad.’ Xu Feng thought to himself.

The acting was raw and powerful. But it lacked a bit to truly depict that of an experienced general who had seen it all.

Because only the scenes and roles were given to the participants as reference without any dialogue. The actors themselves were required to give their own dialogue. Therefore, Wen Ling’s acting was great, but the dialogue was incorrect.

This was something that Li Sheng Xuan had noticed as well.

”Wen Ling, right? The first half of your sentence wasn’t bad. An experienced general will naturally be livid when the very land they protected was being blasphemed.” She first praised her before talking about the cons. ”But as a subject under Her Majesty, you should never implore her to deploy you!”

Dumbfounded, Wen Ling tilted her head sideways.

’What’s wrong with requesting to be deployed to suppress the two clans’ internal war?’ She couldn’t quite comprehend what was amiss with this line.

Seeing her confusion, Li Sheng Xuan turned to Xu Feng, seemingly implying whether he wanted to clarify on her behalf.

In response to her signal, Xu Feng simply shook his head. He didn’t want to intervene in their judging process.

He had said it already. He would give them the full authority as to who to cast because ultimately, the drama needed them to carry.

He might be the male protagonist, but truth be told, he would be lying back most of the time.

What kind of Young Master was required to do everything personally?

’Looks like he’s really not kidding.’ Li Sheng Xuan was indeed a bit surprised that they were truly given power to decide—something they had always dreamed of but always lacked the ability to do.

”Wen Ling, an experienced general, should know what Her Majesty’s intention was even if it’s not completely accurate.” Li Sheng Xuan turned to Wen Ling and explained.

”The scene you chose must have been near the peak of the story, where the two clans were fully clashing and causing economic turmoil in the dynasty. Did you think Her Majesty wouldn’t know about the situation? She didn’t deploy you because she must have had a plan in her mind. But by asking to be deployed, you’re forcing her hands!”
