Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 1157: Avatar’s State

Seeing the expressionless and motionless Burpe was like receiving a sharp jab to the chest.

It was painful and very dampening in one’s mentality.

Xu Feng was usually deemed emotionless by most of his peers, but the reality was that he was an emotional person.

Once he got close to someone and could place trust in them, his care and concern for them would subconsciously soar.

The tolerance and willingness to support them were obvious.

They were the ones who knew him well and understood his vile actions were all done to protect himself.

As for those who believed he was coldhearted, ruthless, manipulative, and unredeeming bastards. They were merely insignificant people whom Xu Feng had no qualms about dealing with.

Why should he care about playing fair or dirty toward strangers?

Those who tried to keep a moral high ground or criticized him repeatedly were merely a bunch of bumpkins who lived in a delusional world.

They thought everyone should be nice, helpful, and heroic.

However, reality was the extreme opposite of these three traits if they wished to survive.

Heroism only gets you killed because so many people put unrealistic expectations on you.

Helpful only gets you backstabbed and betrayed because not everyone reciprocates the same feeling.

Nice only gets you bullied because bullies love to mess with weaklings the most.

Since every part of these traits gets you on the losing end, Xu Feng refused to be one of those.

Instead, he wanted to be the one in control, a position where nobody could command him to do this and do that!

’Go screw yourself, Tier 6 Gerry!’ Xu Feng cursed internally and officially fused with the Phantasm Spirit.

In the blink of an eye, he transformed into a shadowy oceanic avatar form, his size many times larger than the corrupted sea monsters.

His eyes were ablaze as he glared at the monsters, who became so tiny in his eyes.

”Let your source become my power!” Xu Feng roared and swung his arm, creating a devastating blow to the ground.

The ground erupted into a fissure, and the monsters caught in the radius became heavily injured, their health point dropped by a massive 60%.

Some might call it lame because it wasn’t one shot, but this was merely a single attack from one arm. There was still another arm, which Xu Feng had yet to use.

He merely delayed the second strike to calculate which area gave him the most satisfactory result.

”There it is!” Xu Feng found it in less than 5 seconds. The range of his attack covered a large number of monsters, and each of them was staggering from the residue effect.

As he launched his second offense, an entire wave of monsters was erased in a single, annihilating sweep.

Black energy carved through them like paper, their shrieks ending abruptly as bodies disintegrated into fragments of corrupted ichor. Amidst the corrupted ichor were residuals of Abyssal Tide, which Xu Feng promptly absorbed.

The remaining sea monsters were stupefied by the killing power. They were hesitant and almost had the will to retreat. Yet they suddenly jolted, and their rationality or fear was lost again.

Xu Feng’s eyes narrowed at that particular instance.

’Seems like the Abyssal Eye is controlling them again.’ He sneered inwardly.

He reckoned the Abyssal Eye finally felt threatened by his sudden power and wanted to eliminate him at all costs.

The Abyssal Eye had the sea corrupted monsters spread out disproportionally, seemingly trying to make it hard for him to recreate the same situation.

Unfortunately, the Abyssal Eye failed to realize something. The true terror of the Abyssal Avatar wasn’t just its destructive ability, but its utility that was unveiled to him upon transformation.

These utility skills weren’t shown on the skill tree because they were all maxed out and had yet to be discovered previously.

However, now that he had transformed into the avatar, the skills were discovered and finally appeared in his skill tree under the Abyssal Avatar section.

—

Abyssal Maelstrom: With a gesture, the Avatar twisted the region itself, birthing a whirlpool that dragged enemies into its crushing depths, leaving only shattered shells floating to the surface.

Abyssal Judgment: The Avatar’s chest cracked open like a gate to hell, launching beams of condensed Phantasm-light that obliterated enemies in its path.

—

Besides these two skills, he also had the previous attack known as Abyssal Slam. The name was simple and quite basic, to be honest. But it was precisely such basic skill names that held the most destructive power.

”What a broken ability.” Xu Feng was amazed by the power. This particular skill was extremely useful in monster wave events, especially when they were all grouped up together.

”Wait a second, can the skills also amplify their effect from the Avatar’s state?” He muttered.

The Abyssal Dominion Field was active and had enhanced the Avatar’s state, even though there was no description regarding it.

Since that was the case, then maybe the Phantasm Skills could also be further improved in the Avatar’s state.

’Why am I even thinking so much? Let’s just do it!’ He exclaimed inwardly and activated Phantom Riftstep.

Swoosh!

The speed at which he blinked was so fast and instant, causing him to crash directly into the group of corrupted monsters.

The crash caused a lot of damage to the enemies, but his health points also dropped by 5% from the collateral damage.

Despite taking some damage, Xu Feng’s eyes glistened in joy.

’Oh, Burpe, you are truly one great companion!’ In front of him were two massive Avatar clones. They were identical to him in terms of attributes and health points.

With three Avatars appearing, the pressure they unleashed was no joke.

After all, the clones were a 1:1 ratio copy of the real body, meaning that the enemies would have to either rely on luck or pray to find the real one.

”Go get ’em!” Xu Feng shouted and controlled the two Avatar Clones to charge straight ahead into the enemy’s core.

His expression was filled with curiosity and anticipation of the possible explosion damage.
