Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 1120: Noon Arrived

Xu Feng took the center stage, much to the fervor of the people beneath and on the stage.

”I demand overtime payment, Guild Leader.” Veronica quickly said. ”I’ve worked way too much in the past days. I barely got any of my beauty sleep and rest.”

”Haha, feel free to choose any items in the system’s store.” Xu Feng chuckled in response. He naturally wouldn’t be stingy toward those who had worked so hard for the guild.

Veronica was now a valuable asset, so he definitely wouldn’t mistreat her.

This was especially so when she was trustworthy and understood how to deal with the most drastic situations.

It was just a pity that the current crisis was something out of her experience.

”During this upcoming siege event from the enemy, I want you to follow me from start to finish.” He calmly said.

”Eh, what about me?” Carmen pointed at herself and felt left out.

”You?” Xu Feng raised an eyebrow. He pondered whether it was worth teaching her leadership, but ultimately shook his head.

”Forget it. You’re better off going alone or receiving the command from Vortex Viper.”

”Tsk, you dare underestimate me?”

”I’m not underestimating you. I only knew you’re not the type to command others around and spend your time worrying about the overall situation.”

What he meant was that some were just born to be a leader. They might not be capable themselves, but they sure know how to use and deploy suitable people for a chance.

Vice versa, there were also some who were proficient in the frontline and fought with their might. However, once given the leadership command, their ability would falter due to numerous hindrances in their mind.

Therefore, some could become generals while some were better off remaining as a super soldier.

No matter the era, this kind of strategy and formation stood true. Those who refused to follow this logic all failed in the end.

Carmen also knew she was not the commander type. The guild’s ranking of Guild Commander was truly a deceiving title she held.

”Guild Leader, can’t you make a new guild rank that’s specifically for me?” Carmen complained. ”Being called Guild Commander repeatedly is really quite dampening in my mind.”

”Hmm?” Xu Feng visibly looked surprised by her sudden complaint. ”Eh, what title do you prefer then?”

”Demoness!” She quickly responded. ”Since many came up with that nickname for me, and it holds more significance than any other, I might as well go with the flow. At the very least, I can proudly embody the title and let them know why I deserve it!”

At the end of her speech, she had a wicked grin on her face.

Almost immediately, Xu Feng felt a cold chill running down his spine.

’Whoever called her that in public should really be hanged!’ Despite trying his best to avoid that route, the trajectory of fate still made sure Carmen would be known as the demoness from now on.

”So are you going to modify it or not? And don’t even try to lie that it cannot be modified. I’ve asked some folks about it, and they told me the Guild Commander was just the default rank.” Carmen hissed.

Upon hearing that, Xu Feng laughed awkwardly and scratched his head. The guild rank indeed varied amongst other guilds.

The Guild Leader could indeed modify the ranking, and the authority could also be granted to the Vice Guild Leader and beneath as well. He was merely too lazy to do any modifications, especially when the default rank was simple and effective.

”Give me a second,” Xu Feng said as he opened up the guild feature page, and under the Guild Commander rank, he added another section. The rank held the same authority, albeit with the title of Demoness.

Having created the new rank, he dragged Carmen’s name to the Demoness rank.

System Notification: You are about to change Lunar Wraith rank from Guild Commander to Demoness! Please confirm your decision. Y/N

There usually isn’t any system confirmation prompt for ranks on or below that of the elite rank. But any higher, and a system would pop up a prompt to ask whether they were sure of the changes.

After all, the higher rank was granted more authority, and to avoid any accidental promotion of someone, it was added as a security measure.

Such implementation was made because there had indeed been foolish leaders making this kind of blunder, resulting in all their guild members being expelled.

The incident was infamously known as the destruction of a buffoon. Instead of expelling the spy, they actually promoted the spy, who quickly took the chance to kick everyone out.

”Okay, you now have an exclusive rank all by yourself.” Xu Feng said.

”Nice!” Carmen grinned and began stretching her fingers.

”I’ve heard one of the enemies saying that once noon arrived, they would use some sort of substance to agitate the monsters further to attack us. I’ll handle the monsters in the front, so if any slip through the cracks, I’ll leave it to you.”

”Indeed, noon is always the best time to siege against another player’s town or city.” Xu Feng’s eyes glinted in a cold light.

Noon arrived!

It was the signal of a siege—this time, with the stakes being his town and future foundation!

Oh, Miracle Pavilion, I didn’t know you could be even more damnable than the Reaver Guild.

It would be a lie to say that Xu Feng wasn’t disappointed by their arrogant action. He thought they would at least have some decency to show a hypocritical act in public, but they had thrown them away completely.

At this moment, even the Divine News was being thrashed by being manipulative and propaganda-like thanks to Rodney and Carlton. Rodney had been employed in that kind of environment before, so he was having a blast exposing all the dark practices.

”Um, Guild Leader, shouldn’t we start heading out now?” Veronica hated to interrupt his thinking, but time was tight.

”Ah, yes!” Xu Feng got distracted by the modification and nearly forgot to mention an important matter.

”You guys can just relax! We have no need to use too much of our manpower to rush ourselves.”
