Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 1108: Treasury

Some might have called Xu Feng despicable for trapping a loyal advisor, but the fault lay with them for accepting the bribe in the first place.

If Orc A had initially refused his gemstone and eradicated them on the spot rather than informing Colossus Fifth, then things wouldn’t have gone so smoothly for Xu Feng.

’My condolences, Orc A. If you wish to seek revenge, then make sure to memorize my face and name. It’s Luther, the guild commander of Miracle Pavilion.’ He sneered inwardly.

Nevertheless, he made sure to keep up with his villainous behavior.

”Thank you for your help. I would have truly been smashed into meat paste if you didn’t intervene in time.” He thanked the three monsters who had emerged and suppressed Orc A.

To offer his gratitude and ensure his sincerity was genuine, Xu Feng retrieved 3 higher-quality gemstones for the three of them. ”Please accept these small tokens of thanks.”

Almost immediately, the nearby monsters’ eyes glistened, their mouths drooling in the presence of these high-quality gemstones.

They could sense the immense aura and profound energy despite being far away.

”Stop trying to bribe us with your hypocrisy!” Orc A hissed coldly and tried to warn his companion to not accept these malignant tumor gemstones.

Unfortunately, his warning was met with intense dismissal, followed by a coldness that he never thought he would get.

”Hmph, still trying to create disharmony among us?” One of them lost their composure and knocked Orc A unconscious.

”Lord Colossus Fifth repeatedly emphasized coexistence and alliance with Sir Luther, but this Orc A kept going against the Lord’s wishes. He had truly gone courageous and bold to harbor thoughts to overthrow our Lords.” Another one scolded them harshly.

The last monster didn’t bother to snide at the unconscious Orc A and simply went to console Xu Feng.

”Such a situation wouldn’t happen ever again. Lord Colossus Fifth promises you that.” They said, their eyes staring intensely at the gemstone on Xu Feng’s hand.

”I trust Lord Colossus Fifth.” Xu Feng nodded and handed the gemstone over to the monster, only for them to refuse.

”No, I cannot accept it. We were commanded to do as told, so we don’t deserve such a high-quality gemstone. It’s best to reserve for the Lord.”

Despite saying so, their expression depicted extreme reluctance. It was clear that they wanted to swallow their words back into their throat and accept the gemstone.

However, knowing that it was such high quality, those nearby monsters were bound to snitch on him to the Lord if he were to keep it. His fellow companions also held similar thoughts and were thus unwilling to risk the danger in accepting it.

After all, even someone like Orc A could lose Colossus Fifth’s favor in the blink of an eye.

Seeing their great reluctance, Xu Feng exhaled deeply and expressed sorrow in his expression.

”Sigh, Lord Colossus Fifth believed in coexistence, and so do I. Right now, I only wish to offer my gratitude with these gemstones, which I have no use for. But you all refuse it. Is it that you found me hateful or not an ally?” He asked with a hoarse tone.

”Of course, not!”

A few seconds later, all three gemstones were snatched from Xu Feng’s hands.

”We value coexistence, and accepting your token of gifts is in accordance with Lord Colossus Fifth’s wishes.” One of them cleverly declared, emphasizing that they only accepted out of respect for Colossus Fifth.

They weren’t dumb enough to not understand that Xu Feng had just given them a perfect excuse to accept the bribe without needing to face any punishment.

Who would dare to snitch on them now?

They acted under the pretext of Lord Colossus Fifth’s desire!

If any monsters didn’t know any better and still wish to snitch on them, then their fate would be no worse than Orc A’s fate.

Just like that, Orc A was dragged away mercilessly while Xu Feng was guided like a VIP guest to their treasury.

Following the monsters, Xu Feng would discreetly glance at Orc A. This was probably the last time they would meet again. After all, the chances of Orc A and his clan being exterminated were high.

But in the off-chance that Orc A managed to escape, then Xu Feng would gladly use his Vanguard Guild Leader identity to poach him. Those who could survive in a situation where all odds were against them were destined for greatness.

’Hopefully, you are destined for greatness. A loyal advisor shouldn’t be treated in such a manner.’ Despite being the one causing the outcome, the culprit and ultimate decider was Colossus Fifth.

If Colossus Fifth wasn’t paranoid and egoistic, then how could he possibly convince and persuade the former to depose Orc A? Just the fact that he assigned three monsters to scope the situation out and permit them to act was evident enough.

Time quickly went by, and Xu Feng arrived at the treasury.

It was called the treasury, but the building in use was the Adventure Association.

’How sad.’ The building meant for commission with a large activity was now desolate and extremely restricted.

”Halt your advances!” The guarding monsters in the building shouted ferociously. Their eyes were filled with hostility when they spotted Xu Feng from behind.

What was an Immortal doing here and attempting to enter the treasury?

”Lower your hostility,” one of the monsters on Xu Feng’s side said, and retrieved a decree. ”Sir Luther here is now a valuable ally of our city. Lord Colossus Fifth is filled with joy and granted entry for Sir Luther to pick out two treasures in the treasury.”

Upon seeing the decree and feeling the aura from their Lord, the monster guards were dumbfounded. Clearly, they had no idea when and how their Lord managed to ally with an Immortal.

Nevertheless, the decree was authentic after some verification. Since that was the case, the guards moved to the side and opened the path wide for him to enter.

”Sir Luther can enter now. With this decree, you can retrieve 2 items. But any more than that, and the decree would lose its effect, triggering the trap formations inside the treasury. I hope Sir Luther can find something worthy.”

”Thank you for your help,” Xu Feng received the decree and thanked them.
