Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 1078: Reporting With 500 Words Essay

When the guards heard Xu Feng’s claim of being a previous competitor, they were quite skeptical.

After all, he not only appeared from the sky, but he also bypassed all the barriers set up by the city.

Had it not been for reports from others about a flying man, they wouldn’t have even noticed someone had intruded upon their secured city.

”What proof do you have?” One of the guards raised a question.

”You can speak to Elder Yaren. She can verify my identity.” Xu Feng explained.

”Hmph, Elder Yaren is currently in close seclusion. How are we supposed to verify with her?”

”In seclusion?” Frowning, Xu Feng was struck in a predicament. Of all the times, Yaren just had to be in seclusion.

”Ah, you can also check my record. Lin Feng, that’s my name. I was the runner-up. There should be a database for it.” He suddenly said, having recalled the database.

Initially, he planned on having the guards directly guide him to meet up with Yaren. But with Yaren out of the picture, he could only have the guards check his identity through the database.

”That’ll work, right?” Xu Feng chuckled awkwardly.

”Yeah, for now.” Nodding, the guard agreed that it was a viable solution.

Instantly, Xu Feng heaved a sigh of relief, but that relief soon turned into a nightmare.

SLAM!

Glancing at the metal bar before him, Xu Feng was in a daze.

”Why are you still sending me to prison?” He glanced at the guards and asked in a disbelief tone.

His hand grasped the metal bar as he felt like he had been cheated.

”Recently, there have been many spies who were sent by the Colossuses. We will verify your identity, but afterward, you have to undergo an intensive interrogation to prove you’re not part of the Colossuses’ side.” The guard harrumphed.

After finishing his words, the guard promptly left the prison cell.

”...”

Speechless, Xu Feng couldn’t have imagined he would be jailed as soon as he returned to the Divine World.

However, what astonished him further was that the reach of the Colossuses had become so alarming. To be able to buy off NPC and players alike to become a spy and do their deed meant the second major update was nearby.

Moreover, he needed to inform Veronica and the rest that the guild must be prepared for the possible infiltration.

It was just a pity that being imprisoned had caused most of his functions to be disabled. The situation was similar to that of Lightning Blade in the past, who could only afford to use the Game Forum to plead for help while in prison.

Although Xu Feng could also use the Game Forum to plead for help, he definitely wouldn’t do it. Not only would it dampen his reputation, but such a situation was very embarrassing.

He was still a bona fide Baron under the jurisdiction of the Aetheria Empire.

Or maybe it was because of his noble status that made the guards hesitate to commence actual torturous punishment. After all, the prison cell he was in had everything that one might see in a hotel suite.

It wasn’t fancy like those 5-star ones, but it wasn’t terrible like the 1-star hotel. Instead, Xu Feng would give it an average 3-star rating for the cell he was in.

Without a choice except to wait for the NPC’s investigation and verdict, Xu Feng walked toward the comfortable chair and sat down.

Afterward, he opened his Game Forum to check the current news.

Since he couldn’t afford any distraction in the Phantasm Sea, he was somewhat out of the current events and news.

As soon as he opened the post, Xu Feng’s expression darkened. The majority of the trending news was about his guild and the town being attacked.

-Vanguard Guild’s Haven Wind Town under attack!

-Necro Alliance pledged themselves to the Colossuses!

-Haven Wind Town is no longer safe! Is this retribution or karma?

These three particular posts caught Xu Feng’s attention the most. Each one of these posts had over 10 thousand comments and was still ongoing, with many players still replying to the comments.

’What is this Necro Alliance?’ His brows knitted tightly. This was an organization he had never heard about before. He would have known about such an organization since they pledged themselves to become the Colossus’ dogs.

Besides this unfamiliar organization, Xu Feng’s dreadful thoughts came true.

The Colossuses had indeed set their eyes on his town.

After settling in their new conquered cities, these Colossuses needed to expand like any regular NPC cities.

So what better method was there than to siege his strategic town, which could provide them with multiple natural resources.

Browsing and reading through the players’ comments, Xu Feng nearly wanted to laugh aloud.

[Heh, I knew the Vanguard Guild would have their demise soon. They charge so much in their town and think they could monopolize all the resources. Serve them right for being targeted by the Colossus.]

[You got that right. The Reave Town might be crap, but at least they offer multiple discounts and incentives. But Haven Wind Town? This is a blood sucking town where you go broke the moment you set foot.]

[That’s not even the worst part. Their guild members are all so arrogant and treat the poor like dirt. Just take a look at their Guild Commander, Lunar Wraith! She’s been roaming around and killing everyone near the town.]

[Hey, stop talking about the demoness. She could be lurking in the comment section and putting you on her blacklist.]

[Let her lurk! I’m going anonymous, so how can she find me? Actually, I’ll be honest. I’m actually the Guild Leader who went missing to do some task. I can’t believe how ridiculous the guild had turned during my absence.]

By the time Xu Feng got to this particular reply, he didn’t react much and simply reported the message.

As for the reason?

It was very simple. Impersonification and defamation of his reputation by abusing the anonymous user feature.

The system may have allowed players to stay incognito and remain in the dark from others. But that didn’t mean the system would allow one to proclaim as another player to smear at them.

’Want to play games? Then suffer the consequences.’ Xu Feng sneered inwardly as he wrote a 500-word essay in the reason section of the report.
