Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 1060: Melora, The Weeping Sentinel

Looking at the Siren Statue, otherwise known as Melora, the atmosphere seemed grim and hopeless.

Xu Feng’s movement speed was lowered by a sharp margin due to the presence of the Sea Heart shard.

Despite only being one shard and not a complete Sea Heart, the fact that it could still emit such power after such a long time said a lot.

It was no wonder why some of the Siren ultimately chose to rebel and wished to use the Sea Heart power to dominate the Phantasm Sea.

Not everyone can resist the temptation of power and the feeling of dominating others with a single command.

Unwilling to falter in the face of danger, Xu Feng opened his status screen to check his stats.

Having reached the required level, he was finally able to equip the full Forsaken Set. Thus, his attributes were greatly enhanced, followed by the lovely effects offered by the set.

While Xu Feng was glancing at his status screen, Melora already completed her transition and was able to fully control their stone body.

”Intruder of the Sacred Sea Legacy, do you know your sin?” Melora announced thunderously. Their voice resonated with a profound aura that threatened to consume the atmosphere whole. Their hand also extended their trident spear and pointed at Xu Feng.

”I’m no intruder.” Xu Feng rebuked and declared, ”I’m the prophecy Sea Traveler, here to reclaim the Sea Heart Shard and the Siren’s Compass blueprint under the guidance of Siren Bea.”

”Siren Bea?” A bit taken aback, Melora eyed Xu Feng suspiciously.

Meanwhile, Xu Feng praised himself for his quick-witted thinking. ’Heh, if I throw Siren Bea’s name out, then there’s no need for us to fight at all.’

What he hated the most was pointless fighting.

Even though the Divine World was similar to MMORPG which required players to constantly fight and grind, he would much rather advance in an easy route.

Why should he exert his energy to take a tedious route when the easy route would bring the same result?

”So you were tasked by Siren Bea huh.” Melora slowly lowered her trident spear.

Xu Feng heaved a sigh of relief and thought everything was fine now.

Unfortunately, he couldn’t be any more wrong.

”Since you were tasked by that traitorous Siren who wishes to unseal the Sea Heart, then you should be prepared for retribution! We will never allow the slim chance of the Abyssal Eye! The prophecy can be damned!” Melora roared and her aura quickly rose to a new height.

In an instant, a powerful wind pressure was spread all across, causing Xu Feng to be sent flying a few meters.

However, that wasn’t the most dreadful and depressing event. Instead, it was that all the traps he had meticulously laid down were all rendered useless.

”You’ve got to be kidding me.” He felt his heart bleed when those were money that got burned away. Those traps could have been carefully retrieved and used for another time.

But this damn dungeon boss just had to go ahead and ruin it.

You don’t like the traps I placed?

Just tell him directly and he shall gladly dismantle them.

Was there a need to ruthlessly bleed him dry like that?

Alas, he could barely stay in a depressed state for long when Melora suddenly blinked away.

Alerted, Xu Feng swiftly activated Forsaken Surge, one of the set’s special effects. Forsaken Surge buffed the weapon by 25% damage and 20% crit rate for 15 seconds with a cooldown of 90 seconds.

Naturally, he buffed his signature weapon, the Convergence Staff. As a pulse of powerful energy surged through his Convergence Staff, encasing it in crackling black-red light, he proceeded to multi-cast numerous defensive spells.

Right now, survival was the key! What was the point of offense if one couldn’t even live?

Without knowing what the enemy was capable of aside from the passive ability given to him by the system, trying to fight blindly was a ridiculous foolish amateur move.

As he put on multiple barriers around him, Melora emerged on top of him.

She lunged her trident spear forward, causing the ground beneath him to tremble viciously. Some of the ground that was barely sustaining itself could no longer withstand the pressure and shattered into tiny debris.

As the trident spear clashed with the barrier, Xu Feng could feel the impact running through it. His ears rang from the collision.

He wanted to quickly jump back in retreat, but Melora cut off his exit path with insane speed. Her massive stone arm moved and a brutal cleave was aimed directly at Xu Feng. The range of the cleave was enough to cover the escape route and him as well.

After all, her trident spear was massive, and probably weighed a crap ton.

”Oh, that is just wonderful!” Watching the brutal cleave landing right at his barrier weak point, he pursed his lips and did a last-second teleportation.

Unfortunately, the force of the impact was very vast. Despite the teleportation to escape, he was still knocked back 20 meters.

His health points quickly dropped by 34% and his barrier completely collapsed.

Had it not been for the barrier shielding the aftermath force, then his health points might have dropped by at least 60%.

Although it was quite scary, Xu Feng remained calm and collected. He swiftly cast Tier 2 Heaven’s Grace, unleashing a soft light that healed him.

Besides healing, the soft light also increased his defense by 15% for 20 seconds.

’So the brutal cleave cannot be defended and needed to be dodged at a far distance. What other skills does she have?’ Xu Feng narrowed his eyes.
