Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 1061: Why Are You Running?

Although Xu Feng couldn’t comprehend why Siren Bea omitted important information regarding her identity to the guardian in the Sea Legacy, he could only accept the current circumstance.

It was indeed a true regret to witness an even more empowered boss, but there was still some good in the crisis.

An empowered enemy often only has a few but powerful attack moves.

As long as he could stall enough time to recognize all of Melora’s attack patterns, the battle would quickly shift in his favor.

Those who were ignorant might think he was just playing a turtle and hiding away. However, those who were clever would know his intention was to wait for a mistake to occur.

And to push the enemy to make a mistake, what better way was there besides trash-talking?

”Why are you so fierce, woman?” Xu Feng asked angrily.

”You are just a statue and not the real person anyway. Moreover, Siren Bea and you are both Siren. Was there a need to be so enraged just because of a different ideology?”

Almost immediately, Melora’s stone hand clenched tightly on the trident spear.

”Shut your mouth, you ignorant intruder. What do outsiders like you know about how many Sirens have sacrificed themselves to ensure peace?”

Having shouted, Melora’s right arm hammered down again. This time, she didn’t use the trident spear.

Instead, she used her right palm to slam the ground, seemingly trying to cause another shockwave.

’Not good!’ Alarmed, Xu Feng activated teleport and cast Searing Chains to restrict Melora’s movement.

Naturally, the chains may have landed precisely on one of Melora’s legs, but it quickly crumbled. After all, Melora wasn’t some random mob that could be restrained from a single spell.𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

Nevertheless, the chain provided just ample time for him to flee from the range of the shockwave.

He recognized the type of shockwave was able to cause a stunning effect.

Had he failed to recognize in time and ended up being stunned, he could have kissed his life goodbye.

’She’s intelligent alright.’ Xu Feng concluded. Melora’s real body might not be present, but the remnant of whatever it was contained intelligence.

In other words, Melora was the type of boss that Xu Feng despised the most.

Because these intelligence bosses would rarely fall for the same trick again once used. His previous provocation of dialogue might have enraged her, but he was certain that it wouldn’t be effective.

To test the theory out, Xu Feng shouted. ”I’m an outsider, but also the very chosen one from the prophecy foreseen by your Siren races. By obstructing me and my path, aren’t you just ruining your ancestor’s legacy?”

He wanted to see if Melora would at least respond to him when their ancestor was brought up.

Alas, Melora no longer held any intent of conversing further and was charging up her next attack.

’Curses, she’s really one disobedient descendant.’ Xu Feng clicked his tongue and eyed closely at Melora’s motion.

While Xu Feng made such a comment, Melora remained unaware of his cursing. Nevertheless, she still expressed intense killing intent, almost as if Xu Feng was her lifelong enemy.

”Damn, there’s a limit to how much you can behave.” Xu Feng snorted and stepped forward. ”You want a fight, right? Then let’s do it! Who’s afraid of who?”

Having said that, he flashed a middle finger and began to wield his staff.

Melora paused briefly when she witnessed his laughable action.

What could he possibly do to contend with her?

”Wait, Siren Bea?” Suddenly, Xu Feng’s eyes widened in surprise, and called out a name.

Instantly, Melora’s body tensed up when she heard the name Siren Bea.

”How dare you trespass here, Bea!” She turned around in the direction that Xu Feng was looking at. But to her astonishment, Bea wasn’t even there.

”Huh?” Confused, Melora wondered if Bea had already made a move in advance. She hurriedly expanded her perception and detection spells to uncover any stealth or camouflage.

When the scan was completed, Melora’s expression darkened. What she uncovered wasn’t Bea’s presence, but a sly little rat bastard that deceived her.

”You liar!” Melora roared thunderously and turned around, her eyes glaring straight at the departing Xu Feng.

For those who hadn’t figured out what just happened.

The answer was quite simple.

It was a classical trick of misdirection by calling someone else when they weren’t actually there to distract the enemy.

”Sorry, but I realized I forgot to turn off the stove at my warship.” Xu Feng said laughingly.

Despite his speech, he didn’t decrease his momentum and continued to flee.

As if he was some mega Chad who could solo handle a boss level like Melora.

Alas, no matter how fast he was, he could never outspeed Melroa whose attributes were leap above him.

In the blink of an eye, Melora already appeared in front of him, stopping his retreat path.

”Why are you running?” Melora asked in a snickering manner.

”Oh no!” Xu Feng halted his steps and dropped his staff.

His hands grasped tightly on his cheek and shouted, ”Call an ambulance. Call an ambulance. But not for me!”

As soon as he finished saying that, the gold ranked warship which had been stationed behind and currently facing Melora.

The warship trembled slightly, much to Melora’s obliviousness.

”What kind of words are you spouting?” She was confused and thought he had gone insane.

”Turn around, you imbecile.” Xu Feng decided to be a gentleman and warned her.

Alas, Melora refused to listen to him this time. Having fallen for his deception once, she wasn’t going to believe him again.

”Hmph, stop your useless struggle!” She scoffed and raised her trident spear.

In response, Xu Feng simply shook his head. ”What a pity. You listened when I was lying, but refused to listen when I’m being honest. Ahh, it’s really tough to be an honest man.”

A few seconds later, Melora attempted to attack him, only to suddenly sense an overwhelming pressure from behind.

”Should have listened.” Xu Feng shrugged and smirked coldly. The gold ranked warship had finished angling everything and fired multiple hydro cannon shots at her.
