Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 324: Graded-City

As Xu Feng extended his hand out for a handshake, Carmen merely glanced at it briefly before extending hers, commencing the handshake.

”Since you now become a true member, weʼll need to meet up in real life for further details.” Xu Feng explained. ”Where do you live so I can determine the meetup location?”

He had never known or met her in real life, so it was truly a first for him.

Of course, Carmen didnʼt think much of it as she understood they would need to meet up for further details.

In a virtual reality game, aside from the system contract that bound them, people would also construct a contract in the real world as well.

Therefore, two contracts are required to be signed and ensure protection for both parties in the real world and the virtual world. In addition, since they were going to discuss core secrets, it was best to meet each other face-to-face.

”Iʼm living in Green Flame City, Guild Leader,” Carmen responded, not surprised that they needed to meet up.

Meanwhile, Xu Feng was slightly in a daze upon hearing the cityʼs name.

Green Flame City— the first-grade city that celebrated the success and his downfall.

His silence was quickly misunderstood and Carmen took the initiative to say, ”If itʼs inconvenient, then I donʼt mind going to you instead. I havenʼt had a vacation in a while, so I can fly to your city and enjoy the scenery.”

Snapping out of his daze, Xu Feng mused, ”Are you sure about that? Iʼm in Avalon City, a third-grade city only.”

The world they lived in, or more specifically, the cities they lived in are graded independently.

The first-grade city was naturally the best of the best, with the worst city being the fifth-grade ones.

Thus, Avalon City could only be considered mediocre or average at best.

Contrary to Xu Fengʼs belief that Carmen might frown upon hearing the name.

Her eyes actually sparkled and she glanced at Xu Feng as if he was an alien.

”You reside in Avalon City, a third-grade rating?” Carmen exclaimed in shock. ”This is a miracle. You managed to mess with the GRIM Corporation which had its headquarters located in a first-grade city and came out on top despite being in a third-grade city. This is newsworthy!”

”...”

Xu Feng didnʼt know how or what to react based on her statement. It seemed that she cared more about how a person residing in a third-grade city managed to topple the GRIM Corporation rather than his status.

Cities were graded, so naturally the people who get to live in better-graded cities are more capable than those inferior.

Take the Zhao Enterprise and GRIM Corporation to compare.

The Zhao Enterprise could be considered a big conglomerate, but ultimately, its headquarters resided in Avalon City. Therefore, GRIM Corporation headquarters, which resided in Astral Nexus City, was superior.

Not only was the latter superior, but its wealth was also at another level. Even if Zhao Enterprise were to be multiplied ten times, it still wouldnʼt be enough to topple GRIM Corporation.

”You really have guts, Guild Leader.” Carmen teased, giving him a thumbs up for his courage and capability. Although his actions didnʼt harm GRIM Corporation much, the truth remained that he had caused them quite a headache.

Additionally, it became a surprise that the GRIM Corporation was actually willing to take a step back and compensate Xu Feng.

100 million dollars, regardless if one resided in a first-grade or third-grade city, such money was not easy to cough up.

Precisely because GRIM Corporation headquarters was in a first-grade city which should have been even more stingy with its funding, given the fierce competition within Astral Nexus City.

”Are you done teasing yet?” Unamused, Xu Feng held a deadpan expression and questioned if she was finished with laughing.

”My bad my bad,” Carmen apologized, but a few giggles still slipped past her mouth. ”Anyway, since youʼre in Avalon City, itʼs better for me to go to you. After all, itʼs more tedious to apply to enter a first-grade city when youʼre in a lower-grade city.”

Xu Feng nodded in agreement.

The world was just like that, full of unjust and discrimination.

Toward those who resided in a first-grade city, they were practically free to travel to any city to their liking.

However, those who resided in lower-grade cities would find trouble countless times if they were to apply to travel to a higher-grade city. Incidents where the applicant would be rejected werenʼt uncommon either if their background, wealth, or information wasnʼt enough.

”So should I book a flight ticket now to meet up with you?” Carmen asked.

”You can book it if you want, but I doubt you want to log out now.” Xu Feng mused.

”Why wouldnʼt I want to log out?” She raised an eyebrow, confused by his meaning.

”We spent a lot of time sparring, so the competition should start soon.” He explained, reminding her of the time.

”Eh, how could a lot of time have passed already?” Skeptical, Carmen opened the timer in her interface, only to have her mouth agape. ”What the hell? How did the day go by already?”

She became alarmed when her sense of time was once again horrendously wrong. She had clearly remembered there were still 8-10 hours left before the day would be over, so how could she not realize so much time had gone by?

Heck, that wasnʼt even the most important aspect. It was the fact that she didnʼt even feel mentally exhausted despite being very active, albeit only physically exhausted after sparring for so long.

”You were quite excited during the spar and constantly improved. I didnʼt find the heart to remind you to stop.” Xu Feng explained. From a glance, he could tell Carmen was improving and was in the zone, equivalent to the so-called enlightenment, but not quite.

”What are we still doing here then?” Carmen rolled her eyes, grabbed his arms, and began rushing to return to Paradise Plains. ”I came here to watch the competition, so how could you be late for it?”
