Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 165: OneManMedia’s Decision

A few minutes passed by, and OneManMediaʼs complexion was not looking good. The more he pondered and struggled, the paler his complexion.

It wasnʼt a surprise for Xu Feng to see such a reaction though.

After all, he struggled even harder in the past when debating what was truly right and what was truly wrong.

In the end, right and wrong were just a perception decided by those at the top.

Of course, that didnʼt mean arson, murder, or even ruthless crime was right.

In Xu Fengʼs world, it was no longer white and black, only gray. He canʼt depict what others should see, but it also means others canʼt depict him on what to see.

He would do what was best for him, and anyone that obstructed him was an enemy.

And enemies are meant to be eliminated.

”Iʼve given you enough time to think, so what is your decision?” Xu Feng finally opened his mouth and asked. His tone was calm and collected, almost as if he didnʼt mind whatever responses he had.

However, only he truly knew that depending on his choices, Xu Feng might have to paint the latter as an enemy or friend.

Thankfully, OneManMedia finally came to a consensus regarding his so-called integrity.

”I donʼt know what you said, but I merely spotted a player somehow gaining a Rare equipment drop in a location,” OneManMedia said, clearly revealing his decision, albeit subtly.

Pleased, Xu Feng patted his shoulder once again.

At the very least, it proved that his eyesight wasnʼt wrong and that OneManMedia had come to a decision that he could not proceed with his ploy any longer unless he made a change.

”My boss is very pleased with you, but not so much regarding my other comrades.” Xu Feng calmly said. ”They donʼt like paparazzi like you but fret not. As long as you can assist the boss, those comrades of mine will keep their mouths shut.”

Naturally, everything he just said was a lie and there was no boss or comrades. It was all fictional made up, but how would others know?

Since they loved to believe him as mysterious with a powerful organization or background, then he shall gladly let them continue such belief. It was to his benefit anyway, given it would save him a lot of trouble from other malicious folks.

With OneManMedia being clueless and truly believing there was a huge organization behind Xu Feng, he could only comply for the time being.

”If weʼre going to fake it, then we have to make it believable.” OneManMedia informed him.

”Oh, it seems like you have a lot of experience in ʼfakingʼ things.”

”Letʼs focus on the main point.”

”Very well, the boss is waiting for our good news, so letʼs not delay any longer.”

Sometime later, the two headed toward a location that Xu Feng knew was a hideout for the insurgent people.

It was only a small hideout and could barely hold around 10-15 people max.

Nevertheless, it was enough to make it believable, especially when he had drawn a map in advance that highlighted multiple locations.

Given the sheer size of the insurgency, to complete the mission in a day or so, Xu Feng would need to utilize every manpower he could get.

And the best way to do that?

It would be enticing to these greedy bunch of players that Rare equipment would be dropped on chance when clearing these hideout locations.

”Since youʼre a swordsman class, my boss said you can borrow this sword temporarily. It will be your reward for doing this and you can increase your reputation in the meantime.” Xu Feng said, handing over a sword to OneManMedia.

Astonished, OneManMedia held the sword, his eyes widening as he inspected the blade sword. The blade shimmered with a faint blue glow, and he could feel a slight hum of energy coursing through the weapon, sending a thrill up his arm.

He swallowed a mouthful of saliva nervously as he began to check the status of the blade.

After browsing through the stats, OneManMedia found himself struggling to breathe properly. Such a weapon was actually being held in his hand at the moment. It was so surreal that he thought he was dreaming.

As he held the hilt of the blade, he turned his attention to Xu Feng and asked, ”Your boss really said I can borrow this temporarily?”

”Yes, and if you do well, then that temporarily could turn into permanent.” Xu Feng chuckled softly and continued, ”My boss is never stingy with his subordinates. Otherwise, do you think I will work for my boss?”

His words rendered OneManMedia speechless. If it was said before he had received such a weapon, then he would merely disregard it while putting up a facade smile.

However, it was a different story now that he was physically holding a weapon that could sell for an unimaginable amount of money.

Letʼs not even mention thousands of dollars, OneManMedia was afraid that even a million dollars might not be eligible for others to get their hands on such a weapon in this current moment.

The speculation value of Gentle Windʼs weapon was already in the hundreds of thousands, so it was hard to fathom how much this Stormfang Blade would go for, especially with its special ability.

ʼNo wonder they are so confident and wanted me to release some fake news. Even if itʼs fake, just the mere possibility of it being true was enough to entice and tempt many players to search for it.ʼ OneManMedia thought, ridiculing himself as he wondered if he could resist such temptation.
