Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 126: Synthesize

Having laid out the four types of herbs, Xu Feng subsequently retrieved the necessary equipment for the synthesis.

”Once again, I thank Herbalist Elias for the equipment.” Xu Feng clasped his hands and thanked him silently.

It was definitely not equipment he had taken without permission or anything.

He merely borrowed it temporarily and would return it sooner or later.

Hence, he was not a thief, but merely someone who knew how to put things to good use instead of letting them rust or rot in place.

Sometime later, once the arrangement of equipment was completed, Xu Feng picked up the Drakebane Root.

This was a rare herb with potent corrosive properties, and based on the herb name itself, it was quite obvious that its effectiveness against Pyrite Drake was great.

Holding the Drakebane Root, Xu Feng pulled one of the equipment closer: Arcane Pulverization Matrix.

The Arcane Pulverization Matrix was an advanced magical device that combined ancient runes and modern enchantment techniques to pulverize even the toughest materials into an ultra-fine powder.

It was designed specifically for herbologists and alchemists.

To be more specific, this device harnessed the power of arcane formations to achieve precise and efficient grinding.

Such equipment would cost players a fortune to purchase, but Xu Feng got it for cheap, albeit through some crook manner.

However, everything was worth it, given its main features were Runic Grinding Circle and Adjustable Formation Array

Runic Grinding Circle was a series of intricately carved runes that created a powerful grinding force when activated, capable of pulverizing any material placed within its boundary.

As for the Adjustable Formation Array, it allowed the user to configure the formation for varying levels of fineness, ensuring precise control over the resulting powder consistency.

Xu Feng carefully adjusted the formation array to his desired result and placed the Drakebone Root in the center of the Runic Grinding Circle.

With a simple click on the button to start the process, a series of slicing and crushing sounds were made.

Sometime later, the Drakebone Root was completely crushed into fine powder.

ʼAs expected of the Arcane Pulverization Matrix. I will treasure it dearly.ʼ Satisfied, Xu Feng placed the freshly grinded powder aside and began working on the other three herbs.

For the Frostpetal Blossom, Xu Feng made sure to buff himself first before extracting the petals and grinding them to release the cooling essence.

Despite the buffing, Xu Feng occasionally took damage from the intense chill that nearly gave him a frostbite effect.

The herb itself when left alone was safe to hold, but once you attempt to extract its essence, that was when the true danger revealed itself. If it were any inexperienced herbalists working on this, then they might have already killed themselves without realizing it.

”Looks like Iʼm still rusty.” He mumbled softly, grabbing the Aetherleaf herb, collecting its leaves, and proceeding to use the equipment once again to crush them after some adjustment.

Unlike the Drakebone Root herb, Xu Feng merely wanted to extract its binding sap and not crush it into powder.

Once the extraction was completed, Xu Feng began to harvest the vines and extract the sulfuric sap from the Sulfurvine herb. This herb was quite tricky, given its shape and form.

Nevertheless, it was still an easy task for him as he slowly got used to it and extracted quite a bit. ”I really miss those old games where you can just click a few buttons and the synthesize would be processed automatically.” Taking a mini-break, Xu Feng stretched his hands as he finally advanced to the synthesis process now that the preparation of ingredients was done.

A few seconds later, Xu Feng closed his eyes and clasped his hands together, interlocking his fingers as he prayed softly.

”I donʼt believe in god or anything, but please let lady luck be on my side. Have the synthesis process at least be successful at 80%. These herbs are hella expensive.”

His prayers were filled with sincerity, given the failure would dampen his wallet and potential income.

Once the praying was done, Xu Feng took a deep breath and combined the crushed Drakeboont Root powder with the sulfuric sap extracted from the Sulfurvine in a mortar, mixing them thoroughly to form a corrosive paste.

As the corrosive paste began to take shape, Xu Feng slowly added the Frostpetal Blossom essence to the paste, ensuring it was evenly distributed to create a balanced mixture of corrosive and cooling properties.

”The final step…” Beads of sweat trickled down Xu Fengʼs forehead as he introduced the Aetherleaf sap into the mixture, stirring continuously to bind all components together into a cohesive, potent serum.

Just when the stirring was about to be completed, the mixture suddenly exploded, and Xu Fengʼs face was instantly covered with black smoke.

”Cough Cough Cough…”

Having breathed in the black smoke, Xu Feng coughed multiple times as he waved his hands, trying to dissipate the smoke.

However, he wasnʼt saddened by the explosion or having received a lot of damage.

Instead, he was saddened by the mixture explosion which emphasized the synthesis was a failure.

Glancing at his hard work turning into a pile of smoke that slowly scattered in the air, Xu Feng sighed softly.

Since the recipe was a new one, which essentially meant he was a Novice level in terms of Mastery Level.

In other words, the chance of success was 50%, but never did Xu Feng expect his luck to be so terrible to lose at his 50/50.

”Why are others always lucky and winning their 50/50, but I always lose them?” Xu Feng cried aloud, feeling like the world was being unfair and harsh to him.

What had he done wrong to lose every 50/50?

Naturally, his earlier success when creating the Fire Resistance Potions had completely crossed his thoughts, given he was just ranting like any normal person would be when losing 50/50.

”Whatever, I donʼt believe I will lose in every 50/50.” Determined, Xu Feng retrieved another batch of processed herbs and began anew.
