Dream Capture: I Can See Through All Secrets!

33: 33. In the end, it’s all in vainLu Feng also opened his eyes at this moment; the ambulance siren blared uncontrollably. He followed the sound to the exit, where the pungent smell of gasoline mixed with a burnt odor assailed him.

The entire front of the ambulance was wrecked and deformed, emitting thick smoke, and all the airbags had deployed, pressing down on the two people in the driver’s seat.

He immediately opened the rear compartment, which was in a chaotic mess.

Lu Dahai’s body had fallen from the bed during the vibration, lying sprawled on the ground, entangled in tubes and wires, with several medical devices on top of him. Fortunately, these devices had built-in batteries and were still operating.

Lu Feng’s eyes showed anxiety; he didn’t care about the lives of these three people, only worried that the kidney might be damaged.

Just then, three police cars roared from the other side of the underground parking lot, their tires screeching sharply on the ground. Lu Feng stood by the ambulance, quickly waving and shouting, ”Over here!”

Seven police officers got out of the police cars and quickly fanned out to form a cordon.

The leading officer was a middle-aged man in his forties with a square face and eyes as sharp as an eagle. He held the gun at his waist with one hand and glanced at the wrecked ambulance.

”Did you call the police?”

Lu Feng nodded, ”Yes, I suspect they are illegally trafficking organs.”

Suddenly, several police officers behind him widened their eyes and said, ”Aren’t you... the victim in the Lu Dahai case? Wait, the person in the compartment... could it be Lu Dahai?”

Lu Feng also recognized these police officers because he had seen them at the hospital recently; they were the officers in charge of Lu Dahai’s case.

Lu Feng pointed to the rear compartment of the ambulance and said, ”Yes, my second uncle, Lu Dahai, is still in the car.”

The middle-aged officer frowned and asked, ”What exactly is going on?”

”Director Zheng, it’s like this...” The officer immediately gave a brief account of what happened early that morning.

The middle-aged officer then understood, ”So what about this car accident?”

Lu Feng shook his head and said, ”I don’t know either. I was secretly watching from a corner. They seemed to want to leave when Wu Juan didn’t arrive, and then somehow, they crashed into the wall.”

”Wu Juan?”

”She’s a doctor at this hospital, and she was the one who encouraged the organ donation.”

Upon hearing this, the middle-aged officer turned to the officers behind him and said, ”First, seal off the scene, and have the forensic and criminal investigation teams come over. Also, the hospital is upstairs, so take the injured people for treatment immediately, and keep a close watch on them. And make sure that Wu Juan doesn’t escape!”

Soon, the scene was cordoned off, and security guards cooperated with the police to direct traffic, while nurses and doctors were also called down.

They pulled open the rear compartment door and carefully carried Lu Dahai out.

When they pried open the deformed driver’s side door, they found that the driver, who hadn’t worn a seatbelt, had half of his face mangled in the impact and had long since stopped breathing.

Lu Feng was also very surprised, not expecting Zhang San to die like that.

Wang Bai, next to him, was fine. After being carried out, he gradually regained consciousness with the help of medical staff, but upon seeing the police at the scene, he immediately peed himself in fright.

He confessed everything before the police even questioned him.

”I... I’m just an employee. I was just earning a little part-time money... Zhang San told me everything was legitimate and had proper procedures, that’s why... that’s why I joined. I didn’t know it was illegal...” He cried hysterically, tears and snot streaming down his face, speaking incoherently.

The surrounding police officers all sneered.

Whose legitimate procedures involve secretly removing organs in an ambulance? Do they really think the police are fools?

Ignoring his sophistry, the police immediately escorted him into the police car.

Forensic and evidence collection personnel began to meticulously examine the scene, thoroughly checking every inch of space inside the ambulance.

Indeed, they found many strange things.

Inside this fake ambulance, surgical tables and medical equipment were all complete, and there were also a large number of scattered blood type matching reports. From these reports, it could be inferred that at least a dozen donors had had their organs removed here.

The most ironic part was that even the ”Organ Donation Certificate of Honor” had been forged.

”This is an organized, premeditated, professional criminal group operation.”

The middle-aged man narrowed his eyes, turned to look at the student-like young man beside him, and patted him on the shoulder, saying, ”Young man, you did a good job. This case is far-reaching and may involve other victims. We need to investigate quickly. Please keep your phone on; we’ll contact you anytime.”

”Okay.”

There was nothing more for Lu Feng to do here. Concerned about Lu Dahai’s kidney, he quickly returned to the inpatient department.

The entire hospital was temporarily cordoned off. When Lu Feng arrived on the third floor again, he saw several police officers surrounding Wu Juan.

”What do you want? I’m a doctor! You can’t treat me like this!” Wu Juan’s sharp voice echoed in the hallway.

A police officer sneered, ”A doctor? Heh heh... When you were trafficking human organs, why didn’t you remember you were a doctor?”

Hearing this, Wu Juan’s face turned pale. She opened her mouth to argue but couldn’t utter a single word.

It wasn’t until the police handcuffs clicked onto her wrists that she belatedly felt fear, her legs trembling as the police led her away.

It’s over, everything is over. This road of no return has finally reached its end.

The surrounding medical staff looked at Wu Juan in disbelief, utterly shocked. They had no idea that Dr. Wu Juan, who was usually diligent and responsible, would be doing such things behind their backs?

”Deputy Director Wu... Oh my God!! No way, how could she?”

”She has a good reputation in the field... to actually do something like that!”

Even the hospital leaders, who rushed over, felt like the sky had fallen. This was their hospital’s star doctor!

Some family members of patients also became agitated, and the scene descended into chaos.

Li Huizhu, who hadn’t left yet, rushed towards Wu Juan in a breakdown. Even when stopped by the police, she still cried out heartbrokenly, ”So the two hundred thousand you mentioned was... was a lie? Why did you lie to me... boo hoo hoo... why?”

”Madam, please do not obstruct us from performing our duties.”

Watching the police take Wu Juan away, Li Huizhu sat on the ground, crying helplessly, at a loss.

At this moment, another attending doctor, accompanied by police, transported Lu Dahai back to his ward, then found Li Huizhu and said urgently:

”The patient’s condition is not optimistic. After what just happened, his physical condition has worsened, and he could die at any time. Currently, with the ventilator, he can only last one or two days. You need to prepare in advance. Also, although Wu Juan lied to you, organ donation is indeed the most noble act. You can consider it, and of course, it will be completed with the witness of all parties.”

Li Huizhu wiped her tears, her emotions incredibly complex. Lu Dahai died in vain, and in the end, it was all for nothing.

”How will I live from now on, boo hoo hoo...”

In her despair, Li Huizhu suddenly saw Lu Feng walking slowly towards her. Like someone seeing a lifeline, she disregarded her dignity and scrambled over, saying, ”I agree, I agree to donate organs to your father... I agree, as long as you give me money...”

Lu Feng was very calm, ”Two hundred thousand.”

Li Huizhu became anxious, ”But you said fifty before...”

”That was before. You consider it yourself. I will give you this money as a funeral gift for my second uncle.”
