Weakest Beast Tamer Gets All SSS Dragons

Chapter 1204: Chapter 1204 - Taming the Old World - Elemental Dragons

When the flames finally began to disperse...

Everyone was fairly drained. But a profound, heavy peace settled over the smoldering crater. It felt as if the atmosphere itself had been holding its breath for centuries and finally, mercifully, exhaled.

On the distant flank, Lin observed the phenomenon up close.

The Platinum mutants she had been desperately holding at bay completely ceased all movement. They were perfectly still, standing like statues in the ash, their chests rising and falling in slow, docile rhythms, entirely devoid of the rabid convulsions they usually exhibited when fighting her paralysis.

One by one, the exhausted elites severed their fusions to save energy. The battlefield, which just seconds ago had been a blinding storm of celestial light, spiritual fire, and primordial dragon power, faded into a relaxed silence. It was the silence of soldiers who had burned away a good portion of their energy and survived to feel the emptiness as if it was a happy workout.

High above, Ren fell from the sky.

Utterly exhausted, with almost nothing left to give, his eyes closed slowly, and he plummeted backward into the void.

But he never hit the stone. The girls were already there. Luna, Larissa, and Liora caught him mid-air, their coordinated movements gentle and fiercely protective at the same time. They lowered him slowly to the white ash-covered earth, carefully resting his battered body across their six intertwined arms and Luna’s lap.

Nobody spoke a word...

Words were completely unnecessary. He was alive, and more importantly, he was still Ren. There was no massive crystalline tomb encasing his body; only a few tiny, jagged crystals stubbornly clinging to the skin of his forearms, and one highly visible, yet still small, crystalline shard resting near his cheek.

He was okay. For this fleeting, desperate moment, that was absolutely enough for them.

In some dark, quiet corner of Ren’s mana-biological system, the tiny mushroom let out a big yawn.

”...I suppose, we actually pulled it off,” Mooshito mumbled, its voice thick and slurred with profound exhaustion. The primordial impulse that had jolted it awake, that terrifying resonance from the ancient dragon cores, had completely faded. Without that cosmic caffeine, the beast possessed absolutely zero energy left to maintain long term consciousness. ”You humans finish... whatever garbage is left... I did my part...”

The bioluminescent fungal network slowly, methodically uncoiled from Ren’s pathways, retracting safely back into the core as the tiny, invaluable ally got ready to sleep.

Ren managed a faint, exhausted smile, his eyes half-closed as he stared up at the clearing sky.

The spiritual inferno gradually dispersed, having successfully incinerated absolutely everything the corruption had offered it to burn.

And as the thick, black smoke finally cleared, the ancient artifacts were revealed.

They were no longer the terrifying, pitch-black monoliths pulsing with sick purple light that the Vanguard had learned to fear. They were now a pristine, gleaming metallic color, lighter, flawlessly clean.

Perhaps this was the true, original face of the impossible alloy they had been forged from, whether it was mythical mithril, mithradant, or some other classified, logic-defying metal known only to the ancients.

The purifying fire had stripped away centuries of accumulated rust and the corruption on top, finally revealing the immaculate engineering beneath.

There was absolutely no trace of corrupted flesh or skin remaining.

Not on the tail section, which had been forcefully decoupled into two legs and a single arm. Not on the secondary fragment housing two conjoined arms. The scattered pieces lay perfectly motionless on the scorched earth.

Cold, metallic, and completely dead.

And the largest, central fragment, the one that had hoarded the vast majority of the hyper-dense biomass and retained three intact arms, was completely still.

The three appendages formed a lifeless, inert triangle over the smoking crater.

It was finally over...

Arturo cautiously approached the crater to inspect the remains up close, accompanied by Zhao.

The second prince swept his gaze over the scattered fragments, meticulously searching for any microscopic sign of corrupted life, any lingering thread of the corruption that might have somehow survived the blast.

And there, buried deep within the absolute center of the largest fragment, wedged between the mechanical bases of the three arms, he found it.

A core...

It was massive, yet almost entirely transparent, completely drained of its terrifying ether.

Or at least, almost transparent.

Because as Arturo leaned in closer, narrowing his eyes through the smoke, he noticed something buried in the absolute dead center of that hollow crystal. A microscopic, barely alive, flickering purple flame.

An ember. The final, dying breath of a god that...

The flame violently twitched.

It was a single, catastrophic heartbeat.

Thump.

The bedrock trembled intensely beneath his boots. Another heartbeat, and the earth exploded upward.

A colossal, hyper-dense draconic claw forged of pure, corrupted flesh erupted from the abyss, bursting from the soil, answering the desperate call of the dying corruption Diamond communication core.

Arturo threw himself backward. Zhao grabbed the prince by the collar and launched them both into the air just in the nick of time. Every single Vanguard elite who had begun to drop their guard instantly froze, their blood turning to ice.

The corruption had fallen silent...

But it had absolutely not surrendered. It hadn’t launched a mind counterattack during the blast because it had aggressively consolidated one hundred percent of its remaining output, down to the absolute last microscopic fraction of its aura and energy, purely into resisting.

It had braced for Ren’s apocalyptic strike with everything it possessed. And it seemed that Mooshito, who had just barely resisted the urge to close its eyes to rest earlier, was not the only parasitic entity capable of forcibly encysting itself, retreating into a small yet extremely resistant core to endure catastrophic damage.

The corruption had utilized the exact same trick. Perhaps it had explicitly learned it from Ren’s system, or perhaps the ancient parasite had always known it.

Down on the ground, Ren’s eyes snapped wide open.

And the enemy he saw rising from the ash was not merely a single, isolated claw already gripping a fallen artifact.

There were many of them.

Across the entire expanse of the shattered courtyard, massive fissures began to aggressively spiderweb across the bedrock. The earth was tearing apart in five different coordinates simultaneously.

Mooshito jolted awake from its slumber by sheer, unadulterated dread, aggressively expanded whatever was left of its ethereal perception. And the terrifying data it received perfectly confirmed the catastrophic hypothesis it had formed in the middle of the fight.

The sovereign cores of the slaughtered elemental dragons.

They had not vanished. They had not been consumed for raw energy. Selthia had deliberately hoarded them deep beneath her feet.

She had buried them.

She had forcefully embedded each primordial core directly into the center of a hyper-scaled mutant in the dark, secretly molding them into draconic vessels while the battle on the surface devoured one hundred percent of the Vanguard’s attention.

Every single stolen elemental heart was now violently beating inside the chest of a brand-new, customized nightmare. Each one pushed to the Diamond rank.

The cratered courtyard floor shattered completely, point after point.

And from every single gaping fissure, a sovereign dragon began to emerge.
