Weakest Beast Tamer Gets All SSS Dragons

Chapter 1201: Chapter 1201 - Taming the Old World - Exiguous... Again!?

”Why is our core vibrating so loudly!? It refuses to let me sleep and my dream was absolutely delicious...”

Then, the small beast’s ethereal perception fully booted up. It registered the thick, glowing lines of corruption aggressively invading Ren’s system, and it immediately began to complain.

”This garbage again?! I genuinely thought my human had finally learned how to completely ignore this trash! How many times do I have to...”

The mushroom abruptly cut itself off.

”Wait. Wait, wait, wait.”

The psychic link suddenly spiked with absolute, unadulterated terror.

”Is that dragon energy in our immature core?! RAMPANT dragon energy?!”

The spore beast’s voice pitched into a frantic, high-decibel scream of pure alarm.

”You are going to crystallize, you reckless lunatic! What in the world were you thinking?! Nobody with half a functional brain plays with this current! I explicitly warned you never to do exactly what Drag...!”

”You can scold me later,” Ren grunted through clenched, fanged teeth, his eyes burning with absolute, monstrous resolve as he prepared to dive back into the fight.

The tiny spore beast let out a huff of profound annoyance, but its hyper-active ethereal perception immediately locked onto the most critical, fatal threat currently ravaging its host: the invading corruption.

Since whatever impossible, primordial resonance was actively pulsing from those dragon cores was acting like a concentrated shot of pure cosmic caffeine, completely eradicating its precious desire to sleep anyway, the mushroom grudgingly decided to lend a hand. It aggressively expanded its own bioluminescent aura deep within Ren’s soul. It functioned like a biological bulwark, pushing back the suffocating wave of toxic purple ether and instantly alleviating the catastrophic pressure that was threatening to rip Ren’s ancient scar wide open.

”Thanks for that,” Ren gasped aloud. His chest heaved as he finally managed to snap his spine completely straight, shaking off the paralyzing feeling.

”Yes, yes. But don’t make a habit of relying on my aura since that power drains our...”

”How do I save the other two?” Ren interrupted, his mental voice laced with frantic urgency. His reptilian, slit pupils locked onto the convulsing, violently poisoned bodies of Liu and Sirius thrashing in the ground. ”Tell me right now! Fast!”

But the battlefield refused to grant them a single moment of peace. The reinforced bedrock beneath their boots began to groan and violently tremble. The hundreds of trapped mutants buried in the subterranean dark were reacting frantically to the new exalted aura of corruption radiating from the artifact, aggressively clawing at the stone lid. Julius’s hyper-compressed seal would not hold forever.

Terrified of losing the razor-thin tactical initiative they had worked so hard to seize, Ren absolutely refused to halt his offensive output. He raised his clawed hand and relentlessly fired another volley of hyper-condensed lightning directly at the artifact’s remaining corrupted flesh, maintaining a suppressing fire while simultaneously conversing with his beast.

Meanwhile, the mushroom forcefully bypassed Ren’s consciousness. It downloaded the data directly from Ren’s synapses, scanning his short-term memories, mapping the battlefield, evaluating the critical vitals of their allies, and rapidly processing the math of the siege all while Ren continued to fight.

A few seconds later, the beast understood the board.

”I see... Listen to me, there are only two viable solutions,” the mushroom declared, every trace of its usual sleepy lethargy completely vanished. ”You need to permanently incinerate one hundred percent of the corrupted flesh anchoring those artifacts to successfully cancel the exalted aura. If you fail to do that, those two humans are absolutely not going to survive the pressure and be fully corrupted. They do not possess your heavily resistant system. The primary problem is... we might not possess the energy required to finish the job either, even at 250%...”

”And the second option?” Ren demanded, launching another thunderclap.

”I absolutely hate this one, but... you help them directly.” A heavy, terrifyingly charged pause hung in their link. ”You physically touch them. You forcefully absorb their corruption directly into your own body.”

Ren didn’t flinch, but the mushroom immediately recoiled at the potential weight of the maneuver.

”But doing that will catastrophically overload you,” the small beast warned, its tone entirely devoid of the common sarcasm. ”It would force you to violently rip open two additional doors directly into your system, stacking their poison on top of the burden you are already carrying. I genuinely do not know if I can successfully keep the corrosion at bay with my network folded... I absolutely do not recommend this...”

♢♢♢♢

”Hit whatever is left with absolutely everything you have!” Ren roared, his voice echoing across the courtyard to the surviving, active Tamers.

It wasn’t as if the Vanguard wasn’t already pouring their souls into the offensive, desperately trying to vaporize the remaining corrupted flesh anchoring the broken parts of the mechanical dragon.

But the artifacts were defending themselves with a ferocious stubbornness. And worse, the hyper-dense mutant flesh binding the ancient metal together was continuously, aggressively regenerating. It was relentlessly feeding off the ether trapped within Selthia’s dome. Every single chunk of biomass that Liora managed to burn would instantly, sickeningly knit itself halfway back together, fueled by the massive ethereal reserves Selthia had hoarded.

”It is exactly as I feared... From what I am analyzing,” the mushroom muttered, rapidly processing the biological exchange rate. ”Divided as they are, your allies simply do not possess the concentrated, unified energy required to permanently finish this task to one hundred percent completion. And if you all do not hurry, that hideous amalgamation is going to siphon even more energy from the dome.”

The beast hesitated, a spark of genuine confusion flaring in the mental link.

”Wait... There is a glaring anomaly here. According to the memories I just absorbed from you, Selthia should have already successfully taken the cores of the five main guardian elemental dragons... Why isn’t she actively using them? She should have in them more than enough primordial energy to instantly reconstruct her entire physical vessel right now.”

The mushroom processed the terrifying variables. ”Is she hoarding them? Was she using the cores as subterranean batteries that got stuck beneath the bedrock?”

A cold spike of dread pierced Ren’s heart.

That was a horrifying tactical hypothesis he absolutely did not want to discover was true in the middle of a harsh fight.
