Weakest Beast Tamer Gets All SSS Dragons

Chapter 1140 - Taming the Wall - Automation - 2

As soon as Ren left the plan started…

Because the Witch of corruption had absolutely not been wasting her time during the long calm.

She hadnʼt just been quietly mutating new horrors in the dark of her ruins. She had been meticulously studying the macro-movements of humanityʼs most lethal asset. She had been mapping Renʼs behavioral patterns, analyzing exactly how the young commander used his time and responded to localized pressure.

And her twisted mind had reached a terrifyingly simple, absolutely correct conclusion: If she applied heavy, irregular pressure to an adjacent sector, the boyʼs inherent heroic complex would force him to abandon his own post to help, blindly trusting his automated toys to cover his absence.

That was exactly what Selthia wanted.

A window. Just one clean, unobstructed window without him probing the rings near her ruins or on his side of the wall.

The exact millisecond Renʼs boots touched down in Yinoʼs Southern sector, Selthia violently attacked Yanoʼs Southern one.

♢♢♢♢

What Ren actually found when he landed in Roranʼs section was highly irregular, and deeply concerning.

There was a massive swarm of standard Silver-rank mutants, as usual. But they were static just outside the tower reach and being commanded by three distinctly advanced Gold-rank mutants, ranging from Gold 1 to Gold 3.

And they were behaving in a weird way too.

They werenʼt attacking. They were waiting.

The three Gold mutants stood at the absolute forefront of the swarm, firmly planted exactly one inch outside the maximum lethal engagement range of the sectorʼs autonomous tower. They were silently measuring it. Testing the boundaries of its aggro radius, priming their muscles for an assault, but absolutely refusing to commit to the charge.

ʼItʼs a probing test for the towers…ʼ Ren realized the exact second his eyes saw the formation, his eyes narrowing at the uncommon situation.

But this wasnʼt the only test currently being conducted.

Miles away, in his own abandoned sector, the situation was conceptually identical, but the execution was completely, violently different.

♢♢♢♢

For Garret, Dunn, and the rest of the grizzled grunts in the Southwest sector, the threat that suddenly broke the tree line wasnʼt a swarm of Silvers commanded by a few Golds.

It was a roaring, suffocating tidal wave of Golds. Dozens of them.

And they were being commanded by a colossal, Platinum-rank monstrosity.

And this Platinum horror absolutely did not wait patiently on the perimeter like the Gold mutants in Roranʼs sector.

It launched itself directly at the autonomous tower.

It didnʼt probe… It didnʼt measure the distance.

It charged with the suicidal conviction of a biological weapon executing a hyper-specific, direct order from a dark intelligence commanding it from afar.

The rock and wooden tower instantly responded exactly as Ren had designed it to. The massive, iron-hard roots violently erupted from the earth. They shot forward like biological spears, violently impaling the charging Platinum beast and instantly attempting to rip the mana and flesh from its bones. The monster unleashed a deafening, agonizing shriek of genuine pain as the wooden spikes tore into its corrupted belly.

But its sheer, Platinum-tier mass was simply too overwhelming.

The beast brutally pushed through the surface damage. Riding the sheer, unstoppable momentum of a hundred-ton charge, it violently slammed its body directly into the trunk of the tower. It achieved in one catastrophic second what thousands of Silver mutants hadnʼt managed in months.

The tower violently snapped.

The colossal reinforced structure crashed heavily into the blood-soaked dirt.

And right there, in that exact structural failure, Selthia finally exposed the critical, architectural weakness she had sacrificed so many mutants to find.

The tower, though violently knocked over, was still alive. It was still viciously attacking with its roots, because Ren had cleverly embedded the vast majority of the lethal runes directly into the wood rather than the stone base. But without the rigid, vertical stability of being firmly anchored upright in the bedrock, the construct lost the vast majority of its kinetic torque.

The roots thrashed wildly and did damage, yes. But without the firm leverage required to forcefully launch them like hydraulic spears, they no longer possessed the raw penetrating power to pierce the Platinum beastʼs thick, mutated armor.

Seeing the structure fall, the dozens of Gold-rank mutants swarmed. They poured over the downed monolith from every conceivable angle. They viciously bit into the thrashing roots, violently ripping them out by the dozens, aggressively dismembering the complex mana structure piece by piece.

Up on the Wall, the veteran Tamers didnʼt just stand there and watch. They had responded fast despite the days being lazy lately.

The enchanted bows sang. And they fired with great accuracy thanks to Renʼs constant help. The small runes of purifying light inflicted effective burning damage against the corrupted flesh. The modular control runes, the localized freezing bursts and chaining lightning, also staggered and slowed the charging Gold beasts.

But it simply wasnʼt enough.

If this had been a standard swarm of Silver mutants, those enchanted bows would have decisively annihilated the wave. But against the drastically superior vitality and dense armor of Gold-tier beasts, every single creature required a concentrated, sustained volley of fire to actually drop.

And against the towering Platinum horror leading the charge? The mass produced arrows were almost useless.

Its massive, corrupted bulk absorbed the enchanted mineral broadheads as if it were being pelted with dull pins.

The downed tower fought savagely from the mud, thrashing and bleeding ether until the bitter end.

But without Ren there to provide the required support against a Platinum level enemy, surrounded and vastly outnumbered by beasts that were as strong as its operating rank, it was an impossible fight.

Soon, the wooden monolith was violently, completely dismantled.

And somewhere far, far away in the dark, staring through the corrupted, rotting eyes of the Platinum beast, Selthia finally obtained exactly what she had wanted to learn. She possessed a good measurement of how much power and concentrated biological mass was required to violently uproot and destroy one of ”Red Pathfinderʼs” miraculous towers. And she had absolute confirmation that, if the pressure was correctly applied in the right place at the right time, it could be done.

She had successfully measured the strength of the tower without Ren being present to save it.

The bizarre attack on Roranʼs section had been nothing more than a calculated, noisy decoy. Renʼs abandoned sector had always been the true target.
