Catastrophic necromancer

### Chapter 248: Sacrifice, Abyssal Fire Spirit

Dark green flames engulfed the sky and earth, obscuring the line of sight. Lin Moyu couldn’t see anything but flames.

Jiang Hanshan swallowed hard, “There should be a top-tier demon out there.”

His face was grim, and his group defense skills were rapidly weakening. The damage from the flames far exceeded his defense. Jiang Hanshan gritted his teeth and maintained his defense with all his might. But it only lasted for five seconds before the shield shattered.

As the flames poured down, Jiang Hanshan thrust his long sword into the ground and tilted his head back, roaring, “Harm to bear!” Light erupted from his body, enveloping all the players once again. Then he roared again, “Limit Defense!” The two skills complemented each other, and all the damage from the flames was absorbed by him alone.

“You guys, run!” Jiang Hanshan said through gritted teeth. He had to maintain these two skills, especially the first [Damage Taking] skill that prevented him from moving. But his teammates could, and as long as they could escape, there was hope of survival. Jiang Hanshan felt a pang of sadness that he was going to die just after being promoted to colonel.

At this moment, he thought of Lin Moyu. I wonder how Lin Moyu is doing, he thought.

Jiang Hanshan struggled to hold on and looked back to see that none of his teammates had moved. The flames were so powerful that he alone had to take damage for eighteen people at once. Even Extreme Defense wouldn’t last long. Ten seconds later, the Ultimate Defense also reached its limit, and the light dimmed.

At that moment, a low shout was heard. Another shield opened up. The other knight in the group smiled, “Captain, you forget I’m a knight too.”

Jiang Hanshan grinned, “Good brother.” He had no fear of death. The whole team was undaunted. If you’re afraid of death, you won’t come to the Ancient Battlefield.

The new shield shattered after three seconds. Then he also used [Damage Undertaking] and [Limit Defense] as Jiang Hanshan did. Only he lasted even shorter. The knight’s skills were on cooldown. The flames invaded again.

A buzz of holy light illuminated the earth, pushing through the flames and holding out the sky. Mo Yun’s Holy Spirit Unicorn ran up to them and unfurled its shield. The Holy Spirit Unicorn’s shroud possessed a holy aura, the antithesis of the power of the Abyss. Although it wasn’t of a high rank, the defense effect was surprisingly better than that of Jiang Hanshan’s.

Mo Yun walked slowly from the flames. The skeleton armor on her body shone brightly, completely blocking the Abyssal Fire. Her appearance gave the crowd hope once again. If Mo Yun wasn’t dead, then Lin Moyu should be fine. Sure enough, he also emerged from the flames a few seconds later. He raised his hand to aim at Jiang Hanshan and the others and gently pressed down. Skeletal armor appeared on them in droves.

Jiang Hanshan whispered, “There should be a top-tier demon over level 70 out there.”

Lin Moyu shook his head, “It wasn’t the top demons, it was the Phantom Demon King who moved.” When the Phantom Demon King appeared just now, Lin Moyu saw it. Knowing that it’s all messed up.

Jiang Hanshan was creeped out, “Phantom Demon King? How…”

Lin Moyu said, “It wanted to kill me, but it didn’t succeed last time, so this time it changed its approach. Almost got you guys involved.”

Jiang Hanshan hurriedly shook his head, “There’s no such thing as being involved or not. We, the Human Race and the Abyss, are immortal enemies.”

Lin Moyu quietly watched the flames change. You want to burn me to death with the Abyssal Flame alone? It’s not going to happen. The Phantom King must have other means.

The Holy Spirit Unicorn’s defense also reached its limit, and Mo Yun directly put away the Holy Spirit Unicorn. The skeleton armor glistened in the flames, sturdy and blocking all damage. The crowd was incredibly surprised, not expecting this defense skill to be so powerful. Standing in the midst of the violent abyssal fire, it was surprising that they managed to remain unharmed. The bottom line is that this skill can be used on others. It’s too strong. Every skill that Lin Moyu had shown so far was so powerful that it was near perfect.

The Abyssal Flame burned for a full two minutes before it finally dissipated. The flames swirled like a tornado. Lin Moyu saw that a large number of corpses were swept up by the flames and fluttered in the air, turning into ash. The bodies were burned, but the essence of life within them remained. The life essence of demons and dragons, combined with the fire of the abyss.

Mo Yun’s face changed, “Not good, the Phantom Demon King is summoning the Abyssal Fire Spirit! This is a secret technique of the Abyss, sacrificing a large amount of life to summon a fire spirit from the fire of the Abyss.”

Lin Moyu asked, “Is it strong?”

Mo Yun shook her head, “It’s hard to say. Whether the fire spirit is strong or not depends on the quality and quantity of the sacrificed lives. But no matter what, the Abyssal Fire Spirit is stronger than a Lord-class demon of the same level.”

Even Jiang Hanshan had never seen the Abyssal Fire Spirit before and couldn’t imagine its power. Stronger than a Lord-class demon. That’s almost on par with a Lord-class Boss. Normally, they wouldn’t dare to touch such a boss unless they gathered a full team of at least 40 or even 50 people. And even then, it might not be a guaranteed win.

Lin Moyu said in a deep voice, “In that case, it might be stronger than the Red Moon Demon.”

Mo Yun gritted her teeth and nodded, “It’s highly likely. After all, the sacrifices were made by demons and dragons over level 60, and this Abyssal Fire Spirit is at least level 60 as well.”

Level 60, at least as strong as a Lord-level demon. Lin Moyu wasn’t scared; instead, he was interested. “The Abyssal Fire Spirit is so strong. Will it drop anything?”

Mo Yun clearly had a deep understanding of this. She came from a good family and knew a tremendous amount of knowledge. “It’s said to drop flame gems, which can boost resistance to the fire element when used.”

Flame Gem? Sounds somewhat similar to the Poison Gem. And the functionality is pretty much the same.

Lin Moyu asked offhandedly, “Can Flame Gems master the Flame Department’s skills?”

Mo Yun immediately shook her head, “How can that be?”

Lin Moyu was slightly disappointed, “It seems that it’s still not as good as the Earth Touch Dragon God! I wonder which is stronger, the Abyssal Fire Spirit or the Earth Touch Dragon God.”

Lin Moyu looked at the Abyssal Flame that was rapidly taking shape, and the battle intent was already rising in his eyes. Even if you can’t master new skills, just boosting flame resistance is a good treasure. You can’t have too much of this good stuff.

Hearing the conversation between the two, Jiang Hanshan and the others felt their hearts race. Jiang Hanshan couldn’t help but ask, “Officer Lin, was the Earth Touch Dragon God killed by you?”

Lin Moyu said, “No need to call me sir; now you’re a colonel too. I just killed it a few days ago. It’s a good boss.”

Lin Moyu was referring to the loot. Not only did it have leg meat, but it also gave him a new skill. Without this new skill, the Red Moon Demon level alone would have been troublesome.

Jiang Hanshan was struck by lightning, numb with shock. Even the Earth Touch Dragon God can be killed…. This battle power far exceeded his expectations.

Jiang Hanshan couldn’t help but ask again, “In recent times, there were two consecutive world-class bosses killed. Were they both killed by you?”

Lin Moyu hummed, “There’s another one, a Soul Devouring Insect Mother. I killed the Soul Devouring Insect King before it appeared. It’s also a good boss, too bad there’s no meat.”

Jiang Hanshan didn’t want to say any more. Two world bosses… He hadn’t been able to kill one in the many years he’s been here.

If becoming a god general was his dream as a soldier, then killing a world boss was his dream as a knight. At this moment, Lin Moyu had completely become his idol.

The Abyssal Fire Spirit finally took shape completely. It was about five meters tall, and its body was burning with a blazing flame. It looked like a fire elemental sprite but purer. Fused with the life essence of the Dragon Race, the Abyssal Fire Spirit had dragon-like characteristics.

Those demons and dragons that weren’t killed by Lin Moyu were burned to death in the Phantom King’s sacrifices. The Phantom Demon King’s soul-crushing laughter resounded in the air, “Little friend Lin Moyu, please enjoy the hospitality this king has for you. If you survive this time, this king will definitely invite you to my palace next time and treat you to my abyssal cuisine.”

In the sound of delicate laughter, the Phantom Demon King slowly faded away. The Abyssal Fire Spirit awakened and let out a heaven-shaking roar. The flames rushed to the sky and spread out, forming a huge flame boundary. The boundary enveloped Lin Moyu and the others.

It’s a fight to the death!
