Catastrophic necromancer

Chapter 162: Close the Door and Kill the Dogs, Kill as Many as Come

The two left the dungeon carrying Xu Yan’s wishes.

Ning Yiyi sighed softly, “Senior Xu devoted his whole life to humanity.”

Lin Moyu nodded, “It’s because of predecessors like him, shedding their blood, that our human race has been able to survive under the threat of the Abyss.”

“And I believe our human race will grow stronger and stronger.”

“Sooner or later, we will counterattack the Abyss!”

“I… believe!”

The last sentence, Lin Moyu said in his heart. He firmly believed this point.

Lin Moyu and Ning Yiyi appeared outside the dungeon, attracting many people’s attention.

“They’re out!”

“Looks like they cleared the dungeon, amazing.”

“First soloing the Hell difficulty Outpost dungeon, then shining on the battlefield, surviving the Flame Demon King’s attack. Now clearing the Battlefield No. 3 dungeon, still on Hell difficulty. I really don’t know how he does it.”

“His career is good, and he’s said to have talent too. Can’t be envied.”

“Comparing people really is infuriating. Is the gap between careers really this big?”

“That’s what life-type career holders often say.”

They looked at Lin Moyu with admiration in their eyes.

Among the people who came to Battlefield No. 3, quite a few had participated in the battle at Battlefield No. 1 and knew of Lin Moyu.

Lin Moyu’s deeds had already been investigated clearly.

Shi Xing’an and his group had already come out and were waiting in their original spot.

Seeing Lin Moyu, they all waved to him.

As soon as Lin Moyu went over, Shi Xing’an handed him a skewer of grilled meat, “Come, come, tell us, how was Hell difficulty?”

Lin Moyu said softly, “It was just like that, not much different from Nightmare difficulty.”

He briefly explained a few differences.

Hearing that the boss in the Hell difficulty dungeon was 100 meters tall, Shi Xing’an couldn’t help but swallow.

He felt that if he was stepped on once, he’d be dead or at least half-crippled.

Not just him, his teammates exchanged glances, all feeling it was quite scary.

Then hearing there was a second boss,

Who could silence, control, with an incredibly tough magic shield.

Shi Xing’an completely gave up any thoughts of trying to clear it.

He knew how to deal with such bosses. The team just needed two or more supports standing separately.

Removing negative status effects immediately would work.

But it was often hard to find supports with such good coordination.

“Let’s just stick to Nightmare honestly. Hell isn’t suitable for us!”

Shi Xing’an seemed to say self-mockingly.

Lin Moyu said softly, “If you need anything in the future, you can find me.”

Shi Xing’an patted Lin Moyu’s shoulder, “Of course, I’ll find you first thing if needed.”

“I think there’s no dungeon in the world you can’t solo clear.”

Shi Xing’an’s words were half-joking, but he also knew that if there was really a need, Lin Moyu would naturally come and wouldn’t refuse.

After chatting for a while, Shi Xing’an suddenly asked, “Junior Lin, are you planning to continue running Hell difficulty dungeons?”

Lin Moyu shook his head, “No more. Yiyi and I are going to find demons to kill in Battlefield No. 3 to gain military merits.”

With Xu Yan gone from the dungeon, Lin Moyu didn’t want to go in again.

Moreover, this dungeon couldn’t use Corpse Explosion. For others the experience was quite good, but for Lin Moyu it wasn’t the best leveling dungeon.

It was better to go back to the Dungeon Hall at the university to find a suitable dungeon.

Bai Yiyuan’s mission for him was to obtain Elemental Crystals and Demon Crystals.

He had already completed that.

There was no rush to go back and report. Since they were already here, they might as well kill some more demons.

Military merits were very useful, able to be used for official facilities.

And with higher military merits, military rank could be increased, unlocking more privileges.

After resting for a moment, Lin Moyu and Ning Yiyi got up to leave. They went to hunt for demons.

If they could encounter a spatial channel that would be best. Lin Moyu could explode another wave.

Such opportunities were rare, after all this was only Battlefield No. 3.

Not like Battlefields No. 7 or 8, where demons were more numerous and earning military merits was faster.

After Lin Moyu left, Shi Xing’an’s group didn’t leave.

They rested while waiting for the dungeon cooldown time to pass.

At their level, killing some Man-Eaters wasn’t a problem, but encountering groups of demons would be dangerous.

So they’d rather wait here than risk their lives in Battlefield No. 3.

Most people were the same as them.

Those who could become demon hunters were either level 38-39 career holders in teams,

Or level 40 high-level career holders who had completed second transition.

And even then it wasn’t absolutely safe.

Teams were often wiped out, level 40 high-level career holders killed.

This was a place where humans slaughtered Abyss demons, but also where Abyss demons came for extra meals.

Liang Yue watched the two disappear into the thick mist, saying softly,

“Junior Lin is really amazing, able to hunt demons in Battlefield No. 3 at only level 27.”

Shi Xing’an said in a low voice, “Being able to solo clear Hell difficulty dungeons above his level, mere demons are naturally no problem.”

“His skeletons are numerous and strong, with both warriors and mages. He’s practically an army by himself.”

Liang Yue naturally knew this, but still sighed, “It’s a pity his skeletons can’t receive enhancement buffs. Otherwise they’d be even more powerful.”

They had all seen the previous battles. Neither prophets nor legion overlords could buff the skeletons.

Shi Xing’an smiled, “They’re already strong enough. If they could receive buffs too, that would be too much.”

“I really feel sorry for those in Junior Lin’s bracket in the Career Holder Tournament.”

Lin Moyu was participating in the 20-29 level bracket.

In this bracket, Lin Moyu had no opponents.

Liang Yue laughed, “Thinking of those guys, it really is pitiful. We definitely can’t miss Junior Lin’s matches then, they’ll surely be spectacular.”

She laughed with schadenfreude.

The so-called “spectacular” referred to others’ expressions after losing to Lin Moyu.

The more Liang Yue thought about it, the funnier it seemed. She decided she must go watch all of Lin Moyu’s matches, not missing a single one.

After eating and drinking their fill, the group began to rest with eyes closed, quietly waiting for the cooldown time to end.

After a while, suddenly a beam of light illuminated the sky.

Then alarm sounds rang out.

Everyone was startled awake, all turning to look.

The light and alarms all came from the nearby human base.

Several high-level career holders ran out from the base.

“Demons attacking, prepare for battle!”

“Demons attacking, prepare for battle!”

“Demons attacking, prepare for battle!”

The deafening voices resounded through the land.

Some people stood up nervously, while others looked unconcerned, seeming used to it.

“What’s there to panic about? It’s probably just a large spatial channel opening nearby, detected by the base.”

“Don’t worry, with the base guards here, it’ll be fine.”

“At most a hundred demons will come, plus a few thousand Man-Eaters. With so many of us here, we can easily handle it.”

“You’ll get used to it if you stay here long. This happens often, once or twice a month.”

Many career holders who had mixed here for a long time knew the general situation.

They didn’t feel it was dangerous or strange at all. As word spread, others also gradually calmed down.

Shi Xing’an drew his knight’s longsword. This was his first time encountering this, so he was cautious.

The base guards had already formed battle formations, facing the direction the demons were coming from.

In the distance, black mist could be faintly seen violently churning.

“Oh no!”

Liang Yue suddenly exclaimed.

Shi Xing’an quickly asked, “What’s wrong?”

Liang Yue pointed ahead, “Junior Lin went in that direction.”

What!

Shi Xing’an broke out in a cold sweat.

Even the base guards, who were high-level career holders, had mobilized and formed strict battle formations. One could imagine how powerful the attacking demons were.

There were likely high-level demons present.

The difference between levels 40 and 39 was huge.

This was true for both career holders and demons.

Though Lin Moyu was powerful, if he encountered high-level demons…

Shi Xing’an couldn’t help but worry for Lin Moyu.

Liang Yue stared intently ahead, “Don’t worry, maybe Junior Lin changed direction and has already passed by.”

“Let’s hope so,” Shi Xing’an could only comfort himself.

…

Very unfortunately, Lin Moyu did indeed encounter this wave of demons.

A huge spatial channel suddenly appeared right in front of him.

This spatial channel was at least twice as large as the one they encountered before.

Abyss energy surged out like black dragons. Large numbers of Man-Eaters immediately appeared in Battlefield No. 3.

Then countless blood-red eyes appeared in the spatial channel as many demons rushed out.

They carried a bloodthirsty aura, crossing the spatial channel into the human world.

“Human flesh, delicious human flesh, I’m coming!”

“Finally I can taste the legendary delicious human flesh!”

“This demon is already unbearably thirsty.”

Demon after demon roared as they descended.

But before they could even see clearly what the human world looked like, several glowing red blades had already fallen on them.

Intense pain transmitted from the blades to their brains, immediately causing miserable screams.

They heard a humming sound in their ears.

Then the whole world sped up.

The skeleton warriors’ blades were as fast as lightning.

The incoming elemental spells were even faster than lightning.

“Why is it so fast?”

“Why is it so fast?”

“Where are we? Isn’t this the Elemental Battlefield?”

Under the curse, it was they who had slowed down, not others speeding up.

The demons’ wings were all chopped off. Lin Moyu absolutely wouldn’t give them a chance to fly away and escape.

“Hehe, I told you we’d definitely encounter a spatial channel,” Ning Yiyi laughed very happily.

She had just said they would definitely encounter a spatial channel again.

After just a few minutes, the spatial channel appeared.

Her words were like a prophecy, coming true as soon as she spoke.

Before the demons could rush out, the skeleton warriors had already prepared, surrounding the spatial channel in layers, up and down.

Close the door and kill the dogs. Kill as many demons as came.

Miserable screams rose together as the first demon was chopped to death by the skeleton warriors.

Then came a violent explosion.

The ground in front of the spatial channel suddenly fell silent.

The dozen or so demons that had just rushed out were all killed in the explosion.

[Killed level 38 Abyss Demon, Experience +1,900,000, Military Merit +100]

[Obtained Demon Blood Essence]

[Killed level 39 Abyss Demon, Experience +1,950,000, Military Merit +100]

[Obtained Demon Blood Essence]

The two’s military badges flashed brightly, gaining another 800 military merits.
