Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy

Chapter 1264: Against the Half-Immortal

Apparently, it wasn’t just Ruth who had noticed how dangerous Johan was…

This young man, who should be similar to their age, seemed to have a lot more power with Spirit Strands that had probably exceeded more than 50 maybe even reaching 80 Spirit Strands at this point!

That was already similar to the First-Class Arcanist of the past, when the Philosopher’s Elixir hadn’t existed yet.

“Let’s finish him off first!”

“I can agree to that… His bloodlust is too much!”

“Alrighty!”

More students immediately decided to work together, realizing Johan was the greater threat. Elemental Arts practitioners just exchanged glances, then began coordinating their attacks.

Fire and ice combined into storms…

Then, there were also earth walls that rose to block his path, and Mystic Arts students trying to restrain Johan’s movement…

Even the Dark Arts practitioners abandoned their curses to focus on restraining him.

It didn’t even seem like a Battle Royale anymore, the prodigies of the Top Arcane Academies united against a single opponent!

However, this wasn’t prohibited in the rule that was given to them! Because of this, everyone didn’t flinch.

Still, after everything, Johan smiled faintly. “Finally… you’re taking me seriously.”

He stood calmly and watched the spells coming at him… Then, he clenched his fist as if ready to box it out!

He seemed to be thinking of punching through the Spells, which was unimaginable!

Bam!

Just like that, Ruth just saw a wall of fire collapse under his strike, shards of ice shattered in midair, and an earthen spear splintered against his fist. He moved quickly, dodging and blocking attacks, dismantling defenses, and striking the spells coming right at him!

Ruth watched while maintaining her defense.

She wasn’t ready to reveal her hand yet.

Instead, she studied Johan carefully, memorizing his movements, his timing, and the way he dismantled each spell.

‘If I’m to face him later… I’ll need more than defense. I’ll need the perfect rune at the perfect moment.’

The arena trembled as Johan fought, the united prodigies struggling to hold him back. But Ruth knew the truth…

Her Draconic Rune Eyes were telling her that this was only the beginning.

The arena shook as multiples spells collided, but Johan’s fists kept breaking through.

Still, even he couldn’t overwhelm everyone at once…

“Hahaha! You’re all amazing!” Johan laughed as he finally took this seriously.

The moment he did so, he unleashed a powerful wave of Combat Aura… Bloodlust!

Many students immediately felt weakened and passed out.

However, five students managed to resist him.

It was probably due to their Spirit Strands, or perhaps, it was due to coincidence…

As soon as Johan released his Bloodlust, the four of them had also cast their Fusion Spells!

One Elementalist conjured a storm of lightning and ice! They were combined together so Johan couldn’t simply punch through.

A Mystic Arts student reinforced the bindings he released, hoping to trap Johan with his Sacred Chains.

An Alchemist student, on the other hand, unleashed a powerful wave of Blue Fire! He also combined it with a vial that burst into clouds of acid, forcing Johan’s Bloodlust to weaken.

Then, a Beast Arts practitioner, easily boosted his strength and endured all of Johan’s attacks.

As for Ruth, she just stayed back and released another defensive rune, but ready to cast her Forbidden Rune if necessary.

For a moment, the four Arcanists found an opportunity after Johan released his Bloodlust…

Bam!

Johan gritted his teeth as he blocked the Beast Arts fighter’s punch! At the same time, he tried to shatter the chains creeping up on his leg with a surge of aura…

“You…” Johan had no time to relax as he also dodged the acid vials from the Alchemist! Their coordination slowed him and he couldn’t finish them off immediately.

The crowd was excited…

“Finally, someone is holding him back!”

“Ohhh! Just continue doing that!”

“Try one more time! That Martial Artist is tired!”

“Go win this!”

The audience tried to encourage the remaining Arcanist…

After all, they saw how Holy Arts students had fallen. They saw their radiant spells easily broken by Johan’s strikes. Dark Arts prodigies also collapsed with their curses and dark magic being scattered by his shockwaves.

As for the Summoners, they lay unconscious beside fading beasts, since their grimoires seemed to have been forcefully sealed…

One by one, they had tried fighting against Johan, but they had failed.

Some were punched so hard their Talismans triggered instantly, removing them from the competition. Others simply collapsed, their Arcane Energy depleted after failing to restrain Johan.

“What a monstrous guy… Are all Combat Artists this durable? Is he from the Giant Race or something?”

Ruth frowned as she watched everything from her corner.

Nonetheless, her Draconic Rune Eyes analyzed everything… She was now aware of the timing of Johan’s punches, the way he dismantled spells, the exhaustion spreading across the battlefield.

‘He’s too strong. But even he can’t fight forever. If I’m patient, the perfect rune will end this.’

Ruth focused as the battle continued…

She watched as the four prodigies pressed Johan hard, their Fusion Spells were strong enough to hold him down.

However, they were surely using a lot of Arcane Energy to make that happen…

Lightning storms… Sacred Chains… Blue Fire… and even beastly claws tore at his defenses.

Johan gritted his teeth, as he was also reaching the limit of his disguise and he might have accidentally use his Divinity at this stage!

Thankfully, Ruth saw the opening.

Now…

Her fingers traced a forbidden pattern in the air, faster than anyone could follow!

The Rune of Reversal ignited!

It was designed to use someone else’s power against them!

Just like that, it latched onto Johan’s aura, twisting his overwhelming bloodlust back against him!

For a heartbeat, Johan froze.

His fist halted as he realized something off… and then, his Talisman blazed.

“Shit…”

A golden light enveloped him, pulling him out of the arena.

The crowd erupted in disbelief.

“What?! He’s disqualified?!”

“No way! That Combat Artist was unstoppable!”

The four prodigies staggered back, stunned.

They hadn’t defeated Johan, yet somehow he was gone. Their eyes turned toward Ruth, who stood calmly behind her layered defenses with her unknown rune fading into silence.
