Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy

Chapter 1260: The Participant and Dorn’s Information

Boom!

Dalton stood firm as Ruth’s storm of fire and ice crashed against his defense…

The flames were everywhere, and it was followed by the ice shards that splintered around him…

Then, the binding runes came as they tried to surround him. Soon, they tightened like serpents around his shield!

The students and other professors who were watching the battle couldn’t help but feel impressed with Ruth’s performance.

To be honest, most of them were skeptical about her being selected as a choice to represent the Academy.

Even if she learned Draconic Runes, many of them had no idea how strong they were. After all, runes are runes. They believed that runemasters were just good at making weapons, seals, and other support Spells.

“So this is a combat Runemasters…”

“Incredible! So this is how they fight!”

“No wonder Ruth got chosen… She’s really awesome.”

“But I’m curious if she learned some Forbidden Runes. The ones she’ll face in the Battle Royale definitely know a few of them.”

“That’s true… I know that Vin and Skye learned something, but I’m not sure if Ruth has one as well.”

Many students were still impressed.

After all, the one that Ruth was showing was a different type of performance altogether.

She was basically multicasting her Runes in a creative way!

Still, Dalton endured all the strikes and was simply calculating how much force was behind her strike… His dark barrier continued trembling while also absorbing the storm, and with a single push of his hand, the chains dissolved into motes of light!

Whoosh~

The students gasped. They remembered just how huge the difference was in terms of power.

Ruth’s attack had been brilliant, balanced, and almost unstoppable, yet Dalton had barely felt it.

At this time, Ruth exhaled and finally lowered her hands. “That’s all I have for now.”

Dalton nodded, clearly impressed by the young girl.

“Balanced Runes… It’s really incredible, Ruth. You fight like a veteran… It’s very different from the others Runemasters I’ve met. You understand how to control them really well and not just for destruction.”

Hearing the praise given by Dalton to their friend, the students erupted in cheers.

“She almost had him! I’m sure Professor Dalton would’ve been injured if she didn’t stop.”

“Her runes were incredible…”

“But Professor Dalton already fought against Vin and Skye. It’s normal to get tired.”

Professor Zeno then raised his hand, silencing the chatter.

His gaze swept across the three candidates, Skye, Vin, and Ruth, each standing tall, waiting for his decision.

“You have all shown your strength,” Zeno said as he had already made up his mind.

“Skye was efficient and overwhelming… Vin was a bit reckless with the Demon Essence, but you have devastating attacks. Ruth, on the other hand, was balanced and versatile. Each of you has qualities that could lead to victory.”

Dalton crossed his arms, as he considered this matter carefully.

“If this were a duel, Skye would crush her opponents with sheer power. Vin would terrify them with chaos and unpredictability. But Ruth would outlast them with proper strategy and balance. But this is not a duel. It is a battle royale.”

The students leaned forward, waiting…

Even some reporters outside strained to hear the decision they’d made.

Zeno’s voice grew heavier.

“Tomorrow, only one of you will carry the banner of Marshall Academy. The decision is not simple…”

Galatea whispered to Irene, “It has to be Skye. Twenty‑nine strands, forbidden spells, holy chains… she’s unstoppable.”

Irene shook her head. “But Vin thrives in chaos. In a battle royale, unpredictability can win.”

Jericho muttered, “Ruth is the safest choice. She won’t burn out like Vin, and she won’t use up all her energy like Skye. She’s balanced.”

The hall buzzed with speculation, every student voicing their opinion about this matter.

Finally, Dalton turned to Zeno. “You’ve seen them. You know their strengths. Who will you choose?”

Zeno closed his eyes for a moment…

Vale had entrusted him with this decision, and the world was watching. He felt a little nervous. Still, he noticed that there were already too many people outside…

He opened his eyes, and chuckled.

“The choice will be announced tomorrow morning. Tonight, they will rest. I will consult with Vale, and together, we will decide.”

The hall erupted in protest.

“What? You’re not deciding now?”

“We need to know!”

“Tell us who it is, Professor!”

However, none of them were aware that the three had already heard the winner through Telepathy!

After all, there were too many Academies and Organizations waiting for such information! If they learned the Arcane Path of their selected student, they would surely counter it!

Meanwhile, Skye, Vin, and Ruth accepted the decision!

“Congratulations…” Skye muttered softly.

“Don’t let us down.” Vin whispered as he also accepted the result.

It was at this time that Zeno raised his hand, silencing them once more.

“Patience. The world will know soon enough. For now, let the candidates prepare themselves. Tomorrow, one of them will step into the arena as Marshall Academy’s representative.”

The tension was getting higher…

Skye stood calm, observing the situation. She could see her friends worried that she might not be selected. However, they didn’t know that she didn’t even mind if she wasn’t selected at all.

She knew that the pressure would be huge after all.

Vin, however, noticed that his friends looked confident that he was chosen, probably because of his Demonic Transformation…

But unfortunately for them, it was Ruth who was chosen!

It was clearly revealed to them by Zeno through telepathy.

“I will not disappoint you. I will do my best.” Ruth whispered softly as she looked at both Skye and Vin.

In the meantime, the reporters outside scribbled furiously…

“Will it be the Holy Arts Practitioner with Forbidden Runes?”

“The demon‑blooded boy who thrives in chaos?”

“Or the Runemaster with Draconic Runes?”

Dorn of the Crimson Gazette was definitely excited to learn about it.

However, no matter what, he believed that the Marshall Academy would not be able to win this Battle Royale…

“It’s a pity… But if the spy is telling the truth, then the Azure Sky Academy will be sending a disguised Half-Immortal instead. There’s no way of winning this…”
