Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy

Chapter 1123: Picking Up

The dust hadnʼt even settled when the pressure hit.

A wave of spiritual force surged across Duskwither Sink… It was so dense and suffocating that even the Beast Arts Practitioners and summoned creatures staggered.

As for the Summoners themselves, they were at least far enough to ensure they wonʼt get too affected.

Still, the Enlightened Threads faltered mid-ritual, and their grimoires started trembling.

And at the center of it all was a figure rising from the cracked summoning formation… It should not have been there!

It wasnʼt just another malformed shadow. It was something else entirely.

The air around it warped, not from heat, but from sheer spiritual or energy density. Its form was vaguely humanoid, but it was tall, wrapped in a cloak of darkness.

”Another Evil Entity? But…”

Its face was a smooth, featureless mask, save for a single vertical slit that opened slowly, revealing a glowing crimson eye.

It was a terrifying sight…

However, everyone immediately realized what it was…

An Immortal-level Evil Entity!

Chadʼs body moved before his mind caught up. He launched forward with his draconic aura bursting out of his body… he was aiming to strike before the thing could stabilize.

But it was too late.

The entity raised one arm… It was long, thin, and seemed to be made of steel… Then, it caught Chadʼs punch with ease.

Boom!

The impact cracked the ground beneath them, but the creature didnʼt budge.

Then it moved. Chad barely recognized it… However, it was a single blow, faster than any of the others could see, and slammed into Chadʼs chest.

The force sent him flying across the sunken land, and his body crashed through a half-formed barrier and skidded across the earth like a broken kite…

Thud.. Thud… Thud…

He hit the ground hard, coughing blood, and his vision started shaking…

The Beast Arts Practitioners shouted, but none dared approach. The Enlightened Threads scrambled to adjust their formation, and summoned more Creatures, trying to disrupt the entity for following up, but their creatures and other Spells werenʼt designed for something of this scale.

Chad forced himself to stand.

His coat was torn, his ribs cracked, and his aura trembled with instability, but he didnʼt retreat. He didnʼt even look scared at all…

Instead, he felt excited as he felt something worth fighting with his full strength!

He had no idea how the Order of Fatality managed to get this entity on their side, but that didnʼt matter anymore…

Chad used his Draconic Essence and soon, his body started healing… Even his muscles started tightening…

He wiped the blood from his mouth and growled, his draconic features beginning to surface. Scales rippled across his arms, and his eyes burned gold.

Now, he was about to fight a true Immortal!

As soon as the Entity sensed Chadʼs Draconic Divinity, it turned toward him...

It probably thought that Chad was just a simple mob after swatting him away. However, now that he has released the limiter in his body, Chad would be able to fight as a true Half-Dragon Immortal!

The Evil Entity didnʼt speak, but its presence conveyed intent…

Its evil aura started increasing, affecting all the other Arcanists around!

”Letʼs see what youʼve got.” Chad shouted as he surged forward again, this time with his full Draconic Divinity activated!

Chad then waved his hand to create a spear of Draconic Blood Sword and shot it towards the Entity!

The latter responded in kind with its limbs shifting into blades…

Boom!

They clashed in the center of the sunken land, and the world shook!

Then, they continued to exchange strikes!

Each strike from the entity sent shockwaves through the ground. Chad countered with raw force, using his blows filled with dragonfire… But even then, he was being pushed back!

ʼWhat is going on? Why is this Entity a bit too strong?ʼ

Chadʼs footing was starting to slip.

Even with his Draconic Divinity fully activated, the Immortal Evil Entity was overpowering him. Every clash sent tremors through the battlefield, and Chadʼs body was beginning to show signs of strain.

His scales were cracked in places, his aura was shaking with instability, and for some reason, he could maximize his draconic powers…

ʼAm I being suppressed? A bad matchup?ʼ Chad frowned.

The entity didnʼt slow down.

Its limbs shifted into blades of condensed corruption, and its movements were getting too fast…

Chad countered with dragonfire and brute force, but the difference in power was clear. He was being pushed back!

Then, amidst the chaos, Chad noticed something else.

The mortals were in danger.

The Beast Arts Practitioners were struggling to maintain their formations. Their summoned beasts were faltering, some already collapsing from the pressure.

The Enlightened Threads were barely holding their counter-rituals and summoned creatures together, their grimoires were trembling in their hands!

Several summoners had already fallen, overwhelmed by the entityʼs aura.

Chad gritted his teeth. He couldnʼt afford to lose focus, but he couldnʼt ignore them either.

ʼTsk… I have to burn my lifeforce… Sorry Master Orden… I have to—ʼ

And then…

Something unexpected happened. A figure appeared behind the entity. There was no sound or any unnecessary flare… Something just appeared!

The Immortal Evil Entity froze the moment it sensed someoneʼs presence.

Then, a hand reached out and touched its shoulder.

The entityʼs mask trembled. Then, it let out a screech… It was a high-pitched, distorted sound that echoed across the battlefield.

Even the Arcanists below had to cover their ears!

In just a few moments, its body convulsed, its aura shattered, and its form began to dissolve.

It wasnʼt retreating… Instead, it was being extracted.

”Ahh…”

Chadʼs eyes widened. He had seen this before.

That power was silent, absolute, and irreversible… and needless to say, it belonged to Vale. Not his Avatar but the real one! Only Vale himself could do this.

The extraction ability that bypassed all defenses and simply removed the entity from existence was simply too strong!

Thud!

Just like that, the Evil Entity vanished completely.

The pressure was life, and the mortals gasped for breath. At the same time, the summoned beasts collapsed as the grimoires stabilized.

The battlefield fell into silence…

Chad lowered his stance as he turned toward the figure.

Vale stood calmly, dressed in his usual dark arcanist robes…

He glanced around the battlefield, then looked directly at Chad.

”Chad,” he said, his tone casual. ”I noticed youʼre late.”

Chad helplessly smiled and nodded.

Vale continued, ”Weʼre planning to have dinner together. Lisa and the others are waiting. So Iʼm picking you up.”

Chad stared for a moment, then let out a dry laugh.

”You came all the way here just to drag me to dinner?”
