Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy

Chapter 1104: The Contract

”…Thereʼs even an adjustable gravity field…” Seven said as he looked at Valeʼs expression… ”Itʼs not just for training endurance, it helps simulate different battlefield conditions. You can tune it to mimic low-gravity zones, high-pressure environments, or even unstable terrain.”

Vale nodded slowly, absorbing the details… But Seven wasnʼt done.

”Thereʼs one more thing about the second floor,” he added, lowering his voice. ”It has a passive Arcane Condensation Array. I designed it myself.”

Valeʼs eyes lit up. ”Condensation Array?”

If what it does was something he was already imagining, then Vale couldnʼt help but want it, not just for himself, but perhaps for his Shadow Domain.

After all this array would be extremely precious…

Seven smiled. ”Yes… It draws ambient Arcane Energy from the surrounding leyline and slowly refines it into Spirit Stones. It works everywhere with Arcanists… Itʼs not just fast but also steady. The slowest one was 5 stones every day, and thatʼs under terrible conditions. If placed near a leyline like the lake where it previously was, it can produce 25 Spirit Stones per day.”

Vale clenched his fist as he really liked this. It was definitely a lot better and stronger than their current Arcane Tower…

That kind of passive generation was rare, almost unheard of in the Human Realm.

”Youʼre saying this tower can create Spirit Stones on its own?”

”Yes,” Seven said. ”Itʼs not enough to fund a war, but itʼs enough to sustain a small sect…”

Vale looked down at the miniature tower again. The value of it had just multiplied.

Seven gestured to the tower again…

”The third floor is the spell study hall. Itʼs lined with formation arrays and a spell model you could study. You can imprint, test, and modify spells directly into the walls. Thereʼs a feedback chamber that simulates casting conditions and records performance metrics… The energy flow, elemental stability, casting delay, all of it can be studied here...”

Vale couldnʼt help but feel impressed. ”You built all that? I guess thatʼs possible with seven lifetimes, huh…”

”I had help,” Seven admitted. ”But the design is mine. I wanted a place where I could refine transformation arts without risking backlash. Itʼs stable, shielded, and flexible.”

Once again, he was trying to upsell his Tower.

He then continued to explain the Towerʼs abilities. ”The fourth floor is the lecture hall and tactical chamber. Itʼs designed for group instruction, strategic planning, and simulation. Thereʼs a central projection crystal that can map terrain, enemy formations, or spell trajectories. You can think of this as a second command center… This will also help your soldiers or squads in training.

Vale gently nodded after hearing this. ”What happened to the people inside the Tower? Are you not bringing them with you?”

”I already set them free… I only hired a few people anyway. Itʼs just a transaction for money.”

He then pointed to the fifth floor. ”This is the alchemy hall. It has a spirit furnace, a vault of alchemy materials, and a temperature-stabilized brewing chamber. Iʼve brewed mid-tier to high-tier pills there without issue. The furnace is powered by a bound elemental core… Itʼs stable and if you have an Alchemist friend, they would love this place. Thereʼs also a library hall on this floor.”

Vale was impressed. An alchemy lab would be very useful for them… Perhaps, he could even attract Maya with this laboratory.

”And the sixth?” he asked.

Seven smiled. ”Only the towerʼs owner can access it. It had various rooms you can use to help you hasten your Divinity Production… Inside the main study are some scrolls, tablets, and a few forbidden texts Iʼve collected over the years. I already studied them, so I donʼt need them anymore. You can have those. Theyʼre Shadow Realmʼs cultivation methods, transformation arts, and even some Immortalsʼ Spells.”

Vale was now really tempted to obtain this Immortal Tower… Still, he was quite worried whether this guy would cause trouble within the Human Realm…

ʼHmm… Is there a loophole in the Immortal Contract? Should I ask Kaela about this?ʼ Vale mused. After all, this wasnʼt just a simple tower. It was like a mobile sect that was also a fortress of knowledge, training, and survival…

The fact that he could just compress it like the 16 Towers was also very impressive. After all, the Arcane Towers that they could build didnʼt have this function at all.

Seven then paused for a moment as he let Vale think this through…

However, after not hearing a reply for something, he continued. ”I know Iʼm asking a lot. But Iʼm offering everything I have. I just want a chance… You can review the contract as carefully as you can.”

Vale remained silent for a moment longer, his gaze fixed on the miniature tower in his hand.

The offer was tempting, but he wasnʼt about to make a decision that could jeopardize the Human Realm without a second opinion.

”Iʼll have someone else assess the contract,” Vale said finally. ”Kaela will look it over.”

Sevenʼs eyes lit up. ”Of course. Thatʼs fair.”

Vale nodded and turned toward the command quarter. ”Come with me.”

They moved quickly through the Kilo Clanʼs stronghold, passing squads of Immortals preparing for evacuation. Seven kept his aura suppressed, as he wanted to appear as harmless as possible since he knew this was his only chance.

Kaela was in the logistics wing, reviewing the final manifest for the next wave of airships. When she saw Vale approach with a stranger, her expression shifted to guarded curiosity.

”Whoʼs this?” she asked.

”Someone who wants to join us,” Vale said. ”Heʼs offering a sealed Immortal Tower in exchange. But I want you to verify the contract.”

Kaelaʼs eyes narrowed. ”Youʼre serious?”

Seven stepped forward and bowed. ”My name is Seven. Iʼm a rogue Immortal. Iʼve lived in Note Cityʼs outer districts for decades. Iʼm willing to sign a soul-thread contract… Immortal level. We want you to be the witness.”

Kaela studied him for a moment, then nodded. ”Show me.”

They moved to a private chamber, where Kaela summoned a binding altar and prepared the divine ink. Seven produced the contract scroll that was already inscribed with his soul thread and the terms he had described earlier.

Kaela read it carefully as she scanned for hidden clauses, forbidden glyphs, or soul traps. After several minutes, she looked up.

”Itʼs clean… But I also want to see the Immortal Tower.”
