Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy

Chapter 971: Levels of Immortal

Corvin and Aeris made an agreement after some time.

Soon, Corvin handed her a small vial of Essence-Dissolving Mist, a False Image Pill, and the Ghostly Veil Talisman.

”Use these together. The pill will rewrite your facial structure. For about three months, if you don’t remove the medicine in your body, the effect will be permanent... The mist, on the other hand, will erase any lingering scent or energy imprint. The talisman is your long-term solution.”

Aeris looked down at the items. Even her hands were trembling slightly as she knew how lucky she was. If not for the kindness of these two Immortals, she was probably dead by now...

After all, she wouldn’t let herself be captured alive. Aeris could only pray that someday, she’d be able to repay their kindness.

’This world still has hope... There are still kind Immortals wandering the land.’ She mused.

”Thank you, Immortal Corvin...”

”Haha... Just call me Sir Corvin, a wandering merchant. Ahem... You’ll want a new name too,” Corvin said.

”Mhmm...” Vale gently nodded at this. You’ll need to cut ties with your past entirely.”

Although he wasn’t sure about the influence of the Nightingale Clan, he knew that a Clan that could have Half-Immortals as Enforcers was definitely not a simple one.

She nodded solemnly. ”Then from now on... call me Silvia...”

”Fitting...” Corvin commented.

As the wagon moved along the narrow road, Vale sat quietly with his arms crossed, staring at the slowly shifting view...

After some silence, he finally turned toward the others.

”I’ve been meaning to ask,” he said... ”What are the levels of Immortal cultivation in this world?”

This question stunned the two.

Corvin blinked, then chuckled.

Silvia—formerly Aeris—also looked at him in surprise. ”You’re an Immortal... but you don’t know?”

”I never had a master,” Vale replied casually. ”I... advanced on my own.”

A sudden hush fell in the wagon. That was incredibly impressive and they couldn’t tell whether Vale was being serious or not.

However, after seeing Vale’s expression, they realized that he was actually telling the truth.

Corvin looked at him with widened eyes. ”You’re serious?”

Vale nodded once. ”I understand the flow of energy, I broke through my mortal shell... But the classifications, hierarchy, or realms—I never learned any of it.”

”Spirits preserve us...” Corvin muttered, rubbing his temple. ”You’re one of those. A rogue Arcane Master who stumbled into immortality by sheer will and force. No wonder your aura’s so... raw.”

Silvia tilted her head. ”No guidance, no sect, and yet you reached Immortality? That’s... terrifying.”

Vale didn’t seem fazed. ”So? What are the ranks, then?”

Corvin then adjusted his seat as he considered how to start...

”Right. Although it should be common knowledge among immortals, ordinary people wouldn’t even dare to discuss anything about such beings.”

He then raised one finger.

”At the foundation lies the Lesser Immortal. The first true step into divinity. This is when the soul fuses with the Will of the World and receives a blessing from the Path you’ve chosen. This is where you gain true life essence independent of the mortal plane or what we call Divinity... Lesser Immortals can live forever without aging as long as they have Divinity within their bodies...”

Corvin then showed a second finger. ”Then comes the Earth Immortal. Their strength wasn’t just their Divinity... It also becomes rooted in nature, capable of drawing power from ley lines, and other energy sources you could imagine... Of course, being able to use stronger Divine Spells or what others call Celestial Arts is the most important part.”

”Celestial Arts...” Vale repeated as he only had 11 Celestial Arts so far.

Those were Call of the Divine Lightning, Shadow Mutilation, Aurora’s Embrace, and some others.

”Is there a limit to the number of Celestial Arts you can learn?”

”Limit? Of course... Only if you have enough Immortal Spell Lights can you learn more.” Corvin replied.

Indeed, the golden spell lights, or the evolved spell lights, as the system calls it, are the only ones that could record Celestial Arts...

However, it seemed that it was called Immortal Spell Lights here.

”Next is the Sky Immortal. They are considered walking calamities, and they aren’t common here. The leader of the Nightingale Clan should be at this level. Their Divine Energy starts to gain a signature resonance.”

Silvia took over gently. ”Above that is the High Immortal. This is where the most powerful sect leaders or powerful clan elders are at... This is the level where Immortal Artifacts were already quite useless. As a matter of fact, it’s very rare to see an Artifact suitable for someone at this level.”

She hesitated slightly, then added, ”Most Half-Immortals dream of reaching this realm. But even among Immortals, few ever truly break into it.”

Corvin gave her a nod and added the fifth. ”Then you have the Arcane Immortal—a realm that integrates divine essence with arcane laws. They don’t just manipulate energy or some sort of Arcane Law... they command it. Reality bends subtly in their presence, and who knows what they can do... You have to tell me if you reach this level.”

He paused, giving Vale a long look.

”You... you’re Shadow Divinity tells me you’re a Lesser Immortal. However, I have a feeling that it wasn’t as simple as that. Normally, Lesser Immortals only require one Celestial Art to advance... But I have a feeling that you advanced to an Immortal with more than one.”

”Will that change something?” Vale asked.

”Of course... It will be hard for you to advance with so many Immortal Spells. You have to master all of them to reach the Perfect Realm if you want to go further!” Corvin replied.

Vale’s eyes lit up as soon as he heard this.

Finally, he got the information he needed! He just needed to advance his Celestial Arts to Level 10 or the Perfect Realm!

No, to be exact, it was one of the requirements in order to advance!

”I understand now... So, after I advanced them to the Perfect Realm, what should I do next?” Vale asked.
