Chapter 823: Chapter 657: The Truth Behind the Father and Son’s Fallout (3)

...

Elsewhere, the young Black Panther found the female gone and was anxiously searching everywhere.

Suddenly, he caught a glimpse of a familiar figure from afar. Instantly overjoyed, he hurried to her, ”Tangtang, where did you go? I have been looking for you for ages and thought something happened to you.”

The female barely managed a smile, ”Sorry, Ah Jin, I made you worry.” She said somewhat sheepishly, ”I wasn’t feeling too well earlier, so I walked a bit far to find a place, but unexpectedly, I got lost... It scared me to death; thankfully, I found you again.”

The male, immersed in the joy of recovering what was lost, didn’t notice the discomfort in her expression, merely saying with concern and indulgence, ”Fool, don’t go so far next time, remember to tell me first. If anything really happens to you, I don’t know what I would do.”

”Got it.” The female nodded obediently, then grabbed his hand, ”Ah Jin, when I was coming over, I saw a cave over there, very hidden, quite suitable for resting. Let’s go and take a look.”

The two were now being hunted across the territory, not even daring to stay in the shelter, continuously enduring the elements in the wild these days. If they could find a safe, hidden cave, it would indeed be much better.

Jin didn’t think much at all and followed her over.

But once they reached the spot, an Energy Cage suddenly rose from the ground, instantly trapping him. Despite his superior skills, he couldn’t break free.

Subsequently, Shou He led his troops to walk out calmly, leisurely watching Jin who was trapped. The female who was with him earlier silently backed away at some point and walked behind Shou He, avoiding eye contact out of guilt.

Jin’s face was extremely unsightly. He finally realized he had been tricked. Shen Tang actually conspired with Shou He to set a trap and capture him!

His eyes widened with rage, he roared, ”Shen Tang! How dare you betray me!”

The female seemed to cry, ”I’m sorry, Ah Jin, I had no choice... I’ve truly had enough of this life, can’t take it anymore...”

”We can’t escape; you’d better give up resisting, it’s for everyone’s good.” She advised bitterly.

Shou He looked at the angry and resentful Jin, chuckling lightly, ”Jin, what does it feel like to be betrayed by the person you trust the most?”

Jin glared at him fiercely, eyes full of hatred, wishing he could tear him apart.

Shou He said arrogantly, ”This feeling... you should be quite familiar with it.”

Shou He indeed didn’t lie to Shen Tang, but what he said wasn’t the whole truth, rather he skimmed over heavy parts and concealed many key details.

Back then, in cooperation with the laboratory, he initially intended to cultivate replicas as a living organ bank to save this son.

But he was deeply cunning, soon realizing something was off, the laboratory didn’t seem simply aiming to help as they claimed, secretly stealing Shou Jin’s genes, seemingly conducting more unspeakable experiments.

One day, Shou He confronted the head of the laboratory at the time, questioning their real purpose.

The head couldn’t withstand the pressure and finally confessed.

They were not out of goodwill but had ulterior motives, eyeing Shou Jin’s gifted abilities, intending to turn him into an extremely powerful ”war weapon.”

At that time, Shou He hadn’t completely lost all human decency, naturally disagreed. But the laboratory continuously tempted him with many conditions he couldn’t refuse.

Firstly, if treating Shou Jin failed, the replica could replace his position. Although the replica wasn’t as strong as the original, at least they could play a trick to preserve the heir’s title, preventing the Hunting Leopard Clan from becoming a laughingstock.

Secondly, if they indeed crafted such a war weapon, willing to hand it over to Shou He. In this way, the strength of the Hunting Leopard Clan would increase significantly, perhaps even swallowing other clans whole, unifying Eris Star!

Shou He, ambitious and extremely greedy, was ultimately persuaded. He handed Shou Jin completely to the laboratory, assisting them in completely blocking information, even making the name ”Shou Jin” disappear from the outside world.

At the time, during their discussions, they thought Shou Jin, under medication, had lost consciousness. But in fact, he still retained a thread of consciousness, heard all the content.

For the following decade, Shou Jin suffered inhumane torture in the laboratory. They not only failed to cure his illness, but through various drugs and physical experiments, aggravated his condition.

One could say the laboratory never intended to save him, all their claims were merely excuses.

Throughout more than ten years of torment, Jin’s body and mind were nearing collapse. He hated the laboratory and Shou He to the bone.

As his strength grew, the energy within him became more and more violent. Eventually losing control, after escaping from the laboratory, not only did he kill many experiment personnel but also violently attacked Shou He!

Encountering a life-threatening crisis for the first time sparked Shou He’s murderous intent towards his son. Yet, the laboratory still needed the original’s experiment data, insisted on keeping him alive.

And their conversation happened to be overheard by Jin’s mother.

Upon learning the truth, Jin’s mother was utterly furious, intending to use this secret to threaten the laboratory to release her son. If they refused, she would expose everything to the public.

Once the secret came to light, not only would the laboratory perish, but Shou He would also be stripped of his reputation, losing everything.

Shou He would never allow such a thing to happen. Thus, amidst an argument, he ”accidentally” killed his wife.

The two were originally united by marriage, their feelings not deep. Perhaps there was some affection, but in the face of interest, such affection was insignificant.

Then, Shou He framed Jin for matricide and patricide, thereby gaining unanimous support from the clan’s high ranks, rationally suppressing the scandal, and jointly confining him in the Death Abyss.
