Chapter 243: Chapter 243: Sea Scooter

As soon as the words left his mouth, a small water submarine, about the same size as the Merry, surfaced from the sea.

At its front sat a motorcycle-style seat, and it appeared right in front of everyone.

Seeing this, the Straw Hats couldn’t help but look shocked.

Nami walked up and touched the Sea Scooter.

Feeling its soft texture, she broke into a delighted smile.

”Is this an upgraded Waver? Are you giving it to me?”

Hearing that, Raynor’s face fell.

It had actually been meant for Nami, but with her saying it like that, he almost didn’t want to give it to her anymore.

When Raynor didn’t answer, Nami climbed straight onto the Sea Scooter and settled into the driver’s seat at the front.

Nami looked at the three buttons on the display.

On the far left was the rocket button.

In the middle was the forward button.

And on the far right was the dive button.

Nami pressed the dive button first.

A glass canopy rose up around the Sea Scooter.

It sealed over the machine completely, and then the Sea Scooter dove straight underwater.

Nami pressed the middle button, and the Sea Scooter quickly sped forward.

It even dodged obstacles on its own—no driving skill required.

Seeing this, Luffy’s eyes lit up.

”Hey, Nami, come up! I want a ride too!”

After Nami circled around underwater a few times, she pressed the dive button again? Sure enough, just as she thought, the Sea Scooter slowly rose.

Then the glass canopy opened.

And even then, she didn’t have a single drop of water on her.

But what exactly was the rocket button? Nami was really curious.

Still, she knew she absolutely shouldn’t press buttons she wasn’t sure about before reading the manual.

Just then, Luffy jumped straight down.

He threw an arm around Nami’s neck, looked at the three buttons on the display, and was immediately drawn to the rocket button.

Seeing the look in Luffy’s eyes, Nami went pale with fear and tried to stop him but it was already too late.

Luffy slapped the rocket button with his palm.

The Sea Scooter immediately started to change shape.

Its body became narrow at the front and wide at the back.

Then an invisible safety strap lashed Luffy and Nami to the craft.

The next second, the Sea Scooter shot upright, flames burst from the exhaust at the rear, and it blasted into the sky.

Tears flew from Nami’s eyes in terror, while Luffy clapped his hands in excitement.

”So this thing can do that? That’s amazing!”

Before Luffy even finished, Nami threw a punch at his head.

A big lump swelled up on Luffy’s head.

Nami slammed the rocket button as hard as she could.

She hoped the rocket would send them back the way they came.

But after a few slaps, the jet propulsion underneath suddenly shut off.

The Sea Scooter dropped straight toward the sea.

By now, they had risen to over a thousand meters in the sky.

If they fell onto the ocean from that height, they would be smashed to pieces.

Nami’s tears of despair were flowing wildly, while Luffy prepared to use his Rubber Fruit powers to soften the impact.

But just as they were about to hit the sea, the Sea Scooter suddenly deployed a parachute and set them down gently on the water.

Nami was so scared she looked like her soul had left her body.

Luffy, on the other hand, wriggled out of the safety strap and grinned in excitement:

”Hey, Raynor, can you give this to me? It’s so fun!”

Before Luffy could finish, Nami kicked him in the head and knocked him to the ground.

”Don’t you dare! You’re never touching this thing again, not even once!”

Hearing that, Luffy weakly stretched out one hand.

”I-I’m sorry...”

Seeing Nami acting so self-righteous, Zoro leaned against the mast and felt he had to speak up for Luffy.

”You say that like it’s yours.”

Nami immediately glared at Zoro.

Zoro turned his head to the side and ignored her.

Nami whipped back around, smiled sweetly, and looked at Raynor.

”This is meant for me, right, Raynor?”

Hearing that, Raynor didn’t want to answer directly, so he turned his head away too.

Seeing that, Nami immediately turned back and pointed at Zoro.

”See? He didn’t deny it!”

Raynor was completely helpless at that point, so he said,

”All right, let’s load the gold onto the Sea Scooter and drive it to the bank.”

Hearing this, Nami’s eyes lit up, and she started giving orders to Sanji, Zoro, Luffy, and the rest.

Together, they carried the gold piece by piece onto the Sea Scooter.

Finally, to be safe, Nami covered it with a sheet of oiled paper.

She was terrified of someone spotting it and trying to steal the treasure.

Then Nami drove the Sea Scooter away, with Raynor on board, heading toward Water 7.

At that moment, they hadn’t noticed that in one corner, several heavyset men wearing fishnet stockings were watching them from the shadows.

”Nice.

That pile of gold will keep us spending for a long time.”

”Hehe, let’s show them the power of the Franky Family.”

...

Mock Town.

A miserable scream rang out.

The residents of Mock Town came gathering around, unable to believe what was in front of them.

”How is this possible? One of Bellamy’s own men cut down his boss?”

Bellamy was on the ground, gasping and crawling weakly in one direction.

Behind him, the white-clad thug held a scythe in his hand, panic clear in his eyes.

”Why? Why won’t my hand obey me!”

Hearing this, a tall man wearing sunglasses not far from Bellamy grinned.

Then, with a twitch of his hand, the white-clad thug immediately swung the blade toward Bellamy.

Whether it was on purpose or because the thug resisted too hard, the swing missed.

Tears streamed down Bellamy’s face as he crawled on his hands toward Doflamingo.

”Give me another chance! Just one more chance! I’ll beat the Straw Hats and make those dreamers pay for what they did!”

Hearing this, Doflamingo’s smile slowly hardened, and a cruel look crept over his face.

”Bellamy, do you know how much hope I placed in you?”

”You went all the way around the Grand Line, came back here, did nothing but evil, and your bounty only climbed to fifty-five million.”

”I used to think you just weren’t strong enough, or not ruthless enough.

But now I see the problem, your thinking is just too small.”

”You let me down, Bellamy.

You ask me for another chance, but you’ll never defeat the Straw Hats.”

With that, Doflamingo stood up and turned to walk away.
