Rebirth of the Godly Prodigal

Tianjing City West City Police Station’s Deputy Chief Zhang Haiyang sat in his office and looked at the date of the four suspects frowning as he rubbed his chin.

These four people looked suspicious. Disguising as beggars… fighting in front of Chenhui Building main entrance… They were obviously up to something. One of them was rather skilled too. It would be no problem for him to fight alone against three people. That was especially strange.

What kind of place was Chenhui Building? It was Hong Dali’s territory. For such a strange thing to happen on his territory…

Zhang Haiyang rubbed his chin and mumbled. “That’s queer. It seems these people have ulterior motives. I need to settle this myself.”

Thinking up to this point, Zhang Haiyang smoothed his clothes and went down to the rooms where the beggars were being held. He closed the door and asked the policeman who was interrogating them, “Xiao Zhang, how’s the interrogation?”

The policeman named Xiao Zhang scratched his head and said, “These three are punks who usually idle around and often report to the police station. I don’t know what’s wrong with them today. They actually disguised as beggars to ask for money from Young Master Dali.”

Zhang Haiyang glanced at the three punks and said, “Look at them. Covered in tattoos and piercings. Pretending to be beggars?” He pointed at them and started scolding. “Why don’t you go get a piercing through the middle of your nose. That way you can go plow the soil like a cow. Bunch of rascals giving me extra work.”

The three punks really looked like they just wanted to get some money to spend. Zhang Haiyang didn’t waste too much time on them. He nodded to Xiao Zhang and said, “Continue interrogating them. I’ll take a look at the other side.”

He went over to the other interrogation room. Toyoda Conglomerate’s ninja, Abe Haruta, sat inside.

Zhang Haiyang went in, sat on a chair, and asked the interrogator, “How is it?”

“This brat refuses to say a word.” The interrogator spread his hands, implying there was nothing he could do.

“Stubborn, eh?” Zhang Haiyang looked at Abe Haruta, who was dressed in beggar clothes. “You, what happened to you?”

Abe Haruta looked at Zhang Haiyang condescendingly and turned around.

“Aiya, impressive!” Zhang Haiyang took off his leather shoes as he spoke. He pointed the shoe at Abe Haruta and snapped. “Spit it out!” Interrogating was about being imposing. Zhang Haiyang’s shout startled Abe Haruta. He yelled again. “Be honest! What happened exactly!”

Abe Haruta wouldn’t dare to say anything. If he said that Tarō Gohon had instructed him to assassinate Hong Dali, not only would there be no chance of him getting out, he could cause a conflict between two countries.

Since he couldn’t say the truth, the remaining option was simple—keep quiet.

Keeping silent, Zhang Haiyang might as well speak on his behalf. “Keeping quiet? I’ll speak for you, then. You are a beggar hoping to get some money from Young Master Dali. But then got into a fight with the other two beggars over whose territory it is. Right?”

This officer was so understanding? Abe Haruta nodded his head furiously.

He instantly regretted—Zhang Haiyang slapped the shoe against his face, making a clear Pak sound. “Do you think I’m an idiot? A beggar with skills like yours?! If you became a bodyguard everyone would fight to employ you. A beggar?!”

Abe Haruta didn’t expect him to really hit him. He was furious. “How dare you hit me! I want to sue you!”

“Oh, counter-charging us?” Zhang Haiyang swang again with a clear *Pak *sound. “So what if I’m hitting you? What are you going to do?!”

“You will regret it!” Abe Haruta and Zhang Haiyang stared ferociously at each other.

“You’re not a local, right?” Zhang Haiyang used the shoe again. “You sound like a Jabanese. Good at pretending, eh?”

“Idiot!” Abe Haruta gritted his teeth in anger. “I’m from the glorious Jaban empire. Release me at once!”

Holding the leather shoe in his hand, Zhang Haiyang was in no hurry to ask. He casually said, “A Jabanese, indeed. I heard that your people value honor a lot. Aiya, I can’t make things too difficult for you…”

As he said that, Abe Haruta smiled. Zhang Haiyang used the shoe again for close contact with his face, making Abe Haruta’s face all swollen and red. “Continue weaving more stories—”

He swung the shoe again. “Jabanese—” The shoe once more. “Coming here to become a beggar—” The shoe again. “Do you believe it yourself?!” Concluding with yet another swing of the shoe. “Do you think I’m a monkey?”

Pak Pak Pak sounded crystal clear. Zhang Haiyang was furious as he felt he was being treated like an idiot.

In the end, the fate of the sad and tragic Abe Haruta was too big a flaw.

Some came for holidays, sight-seeing, or even to court girls. But coming here to be a beggar? Who would believe that?

“And!” Zhang Haiyang was getting more and more worked up. “Our people in Heavenly State are not worth anything? You fought with those three, do you know how heavy-handed you were? Do you know if any bones are broken?”

“I wasn’t so heavy-handed! Definitely not!” Abe Haruta shook his head desperately. “You’re framing me! Accusing me!”

“Haiya?!” Zhang Haiyang swung the shoe at him again. “Still stubborn?”

Abe Haruta was an honorable Iga ninja, but here he was getting smacked in the face by the Chief Police Officer’s shoe. His face was swollen red. He was not afraid of death, and certainly not afraid of any sort of torture, but to be smacked continuously by a shoe on the face was his bottom line. He yelled, “I want to sue you! I will go to the International Court to sue you! You’re violating my human rights!”

This time, Zhang Haiyang was completely stunned. He smiled and nodded, speaking in a gentle voice. “You want to sue me. To be honest, I have never been sued by anyone.”

Abe Haruta glanced at Zhang Haiyang and sneered.

Zhang Haiyang stood up and whacked non-stop. “Want to sue, ah?” Pak! “International Court, ah?” *Pak! *”Human rights, ah?” Pak! “Assaulting people in Heavenly State, ah?” Pak! “Do you think I’m an idiot? Who are you trying to fool, ah?”

Pak! Pak! Pak! Pak! Pak!

…

The outer area of Tianjing Mountain, at the entrance of the mysterious underground cave.

“Dali, you’re finally back. Huhuhu, I was so worried!” Once Hong Dali came up via the rope, Tang Muxin threw herself in his arms and wailed. “You scared us all. We thought you… you…”

“Don’t worry, don’t worry. I have such good luck, what can happen to me!” Hong Dali grinned as he wiped away the tears from her face. “See how scared you are. Your face is in a mess, poor thing…”

“That’s not true! I don’t use any makeup!” Tang Muxin pouted. “That’s not true at all!”

Lin Chuyin, who was standing at the side, tugged at the corner of Hong Dali’s shirt. She said softly, “Oh, thank goodness you’re okay.”

“Yes, yes. No, no, I’m very safe.” Dali took out the thumb ring that he found. “This is for you. I found it in the underground cave. I brought it back as it looks rather interesting.”

“Oh, okay.” Li Chuyin accepted it without questions since it was a gift from Hong Dali. “I’ll accept it, then.”

Thankfully, Hong Dali returned safe and sound. Now everyone had a new understanding of his luck. The Bureau Chief smiled and said, “Everything is fine. All is good. Dali ah, tell me what you want, I will give you anything you want to the best of my ability!”

“When will the aircraft carriers arrive?” Hong Dali flicked his clothes. “It’s too hot. I want to go out to the sea!”

“I will ask them to expedite!” The Bureau Chief nodded. “According to the schedule, it should take another week or so. Oh yes, the Mechanical Holy Garment, do you want more? How about a hundred more pieces? You can use it however you want!”

The Mechanical Holy Garment may be expensive, costing three million yuan each. One hundred would cost 300 million yuan. But it was nothing compared to Hong Dali’s life. If he got into Hong Dali’s good books, it would be beneficial to him in the future.

“Not really.” Hong Dali didn’t have anything in mind. He took out the Dali beans and distributed them. “I found these Dali beans underground. Hehe. They’re yummy. Everyone, try it!”

While distributing, the Dali beans exuded an aroma. Tang Muxin was surprised. “Yah, it smells good. It’s no wonder you like them. Let me try it!”

A bunch of people tried one each, nodding their heads as they ate. “They’re yummy, indeed. This is good.”

Lin Chuyin looked at the Dali beans and shook her head. “Uh, I’ve never seen this before. It’s not recorded in the data.”

“Aiya.” Hong Dali didn’t care. “As long as it’s yummy, who cares what they are. There’s more underground.”

“Rascal, you found a huge treasure this time.” The Bureau Chief ate one as well. “Hmm, nice. It tastes good.”

Just as he said that, the phone rang. It was Mu Huishou. “Bureau Chief, we have the latest news from West City Police Station. They made a new discovery!”

“West City Police Station?!” The Bureau Chief looked at Dali and said, “Dali, find a place to rest first. Let me take this call. I need to settle something urgent from the police station. Oh yes, I will get a professional to analyze our findings from the cave. I will let you know once the results are out. Before the state issues any mandatory orders, this cave is your private property.”

“Oh…” Hong Dali casually responded. “No one is allowed to touch my Dali beans!”

The Bureau Chief stomped his feed. “Rascal, is eating all that you know to do?!”
