Rebirth of the Godly Prodigal

Tianjing City, National Security Bureau.

“The price of gold is actually beginning to pick up…” The mysterious middle-aged man sat on the sofa rubbing his temples, looking helpless. “Why did Hong Dali suddenly want to collect gold? What exactly is he thinking of…”

“I don’t know either. I did some research previously. He is clearly different from ordinary people.” The Bureau Chief spread out his hands helplessly. “I didn’t think he would suddenly start collecting gold. I got someone to find out secretly. In other words, he thinks that tipping people using yuan is not compatible with his status. So he changed to tipping gold. One gold bar at one go. To think about it, think about it… it’s quite a sight.”

“This rascal.” The mysterious middle-aged man forced a smile. “He bought one billion worth of gold at one go. And Hong Weiguo just played along with him and bought ten billion worth of gold. Not only did the price of gold stabilize, but it has also risen by a little. Although not by a lot…” He paused and looked at the Bureau Chief. “Wu Di, is this kid really protected by the Goddess of Luck?”

“No power can go against his unbelievable luck. This has become the motto for the people at the National Security Bureau.” The Bureau Chief shook his head helplessly. “You don’t know this, but there are many people from the National Security Bureau who wants to get into Hong Dali’s good books.”

“Hmm, I suddenly thought of something. What did you tell the hypnotist previously?” The mysterious middle-aged man curiously asked. “I was too embarrassed to ask then. You should be able to tell me now?”

The Bureau Chief said one thing to the hypnotist previously. The hypnotist was shocked and nodded his head vigorously after. The mysterious middle-aged man was puzzled. But since there was no one else around, he finally found the chance took ask him.

“I didn’t say much.” The Bureau Chief laughed. “I told him if he cooperated, I would recommend him to be Hong Dali’s lackey. And you saw his reaction.” The Bureau Chief spread his arms. “I got the effect I wanted…”

“…” The mysterious middle-aged man was speechless. That’s it?!

Both of them looked at each other in silence, then they suddenly laughed out loud. The mysterious middle-aged man laughed as he said, “It seems this rascal’s luck is well known. Oh yes. Is the Dali Divine Sect under control?”

“Haha, the Dali Divine Sect has already been taken over.” The Bureau Chief poured tea for the mysterious middle-aged man and himself. “The Dali Divine Sect is operating as usual. I sent some people to join the cult to take a look. It’s nothing special. Just a group of people who thought Dali would bring them luck. I asked my people to put public opinion under control. I believe there won’t be any issues.”

“Well, Dali himself probably doesn’t know the existence of this cult, right?” The mysterious middle-aged man laughed. “This squanderer, I just can’t be angry with him even though he creates trouble every time. We’ll leave it there. Oh yes, is there any progress in the technology that he’s fiddling with Chuyin?”

Hong Dali and Lin Chuyin were invincible when they were together. Hong Dali was full of ideas and Lin Chuyin had the technology. Put them together and they might come up with something good.

Even the mysterious middle-aged man, whom the Bureau Chief showed so much respect to, was concerned about that. Technology constituted a primary productive force.

“Everything is as per usual.” The Bureau Chief smiled. “Virtual Reality related technology is more than half developed. The main thing is whether there are any side effects to the perfect system and experiments. I got the technology from Chuyin, and it’s currently undergoing development at New Lanxiang. Chuyin is now researching on the precise voice control system.”

“Hmm, I don’t know where Hong Dali got this precision voice control system.” The mysterious middle-aged man rubbed his chin. “Oh yes. Wu Di, when you went to look for Hong Dali previously, what was it that he said? Squandering is a mission?”

“Yes, that’s right.” The Bureau Chief curiously asked, “Why? Is something wrong?”

“It’s nothing wrong for a prodigal son to like to squander. The problem is, Hong Dali always has something good happen to him.” The mysterious middle-aged man slowly said, “It’s nothing if we look at it one by one. But when you link it together… not including what Chuyin was meddling with, the endoskeleton armor, precision voice control technology, as long as one is completely loyal to him, they could gain power beyond human ability. Those models that are beyond our imagination. In the beginning, I heard he gave Turkey’s Liu Yihui’s father Liu Zhongyuan a fitness ball. The fitness ball improved Liu Zhongyuan’s health and his cancer cells stopped spreading. There are even signs of it disappearing.”

Hearing that, the Bureau Chief frowned and pondered.

He hadn’t noticed it before. But hearing it from the mysterious middle-aged man, it was indeed odd.

The Bureau Chief asked, “You mean that there is some secret behind him saying squandering is a mission?”

“Possibly. These things appeared too suddenly.” The mysterious middle-aged man said, “Do you remember when Hong Dali bought Ye Lai Xiang? His luck started to get better after that. Everything he meddled in made money. And he got more and more good things to happen to him.”

“Indeed. I realized too. That’s true!” The Bureau Chief was startled. “You mean, he has something we don’t know, and he’s been hiding it? But if he doesn’t say anything, we can’t ask him either.”

“It must be something he won’t reveal.” The mysterious middle-aged man positively said, “But I don’t really care about this. It’s good if he has a supernatural ability. Or even if there is any alien technology from sci-fi movies helping him, that’s not the point. The point is,” The mysterious middle-aged man suddenly sighed. “The point is, we benefit from it! Did you realize, this kid has never thought about achieving much. Everything he did was just for fun. And he doesn’t hide anything that he is developing. We can see everything that he is up to. Nothing defies any law or regulation. Unlike those conceited sons of rich businessmen. That’s why we need to support him no matter what! As long as he doesn’t do anything against the state or against humanity, we must support him!”

“Well, that’s true.” The Bureau Chief nodded. “This kid may be numb to many things, but he cares a lot about the people around him. In other words, he’s just a prodigal son who shields his people. And he is very simple. He is good to whoever who is good to him. As long as we continue to support his family, he will certainly not let us down. At present we have a very good relationship with him. Hence, they are very cooperative when we get charts for high-tech projects from them.”

“Yes. That’s how it should be.” The mysterious middle-aged man pondered and said, “Pass the message to waive the administration charges for all of Hong Dali’s projects from now on. There should be no barrier for anything he is involved in. The process should be smooth! I don’t want him to waste time on administrative processes. Hong Dali’s time is more precious than any of ours! Technology constitutes a primary productive force. In this high-tech era, whoever controls the core technology will have the say internationally.”

He was not wrong.

People who had been working in various places understood that in many cases, it was not difficult to complete a job. What delayed it from being completed were the various procedures and processes. There would be delays for anything that needed more than one level of review. It was common for the delay to drag between ten days and half a month, to more than one and a half years.

All they had to do was support Hong Dali and wait for him to come up with something good. Those high-tech things that Hong Dali meddled with were enough to keep them busy for a while.

“Okay! I understand. I will pass the message.” The Bureau Chief naturally understood what the middle-aged man said. He nodded his head, then asked, “Oh yes, those two aircraft carriers…”

“Buy and let him have them!” The mysterious middle-aged man decided. “Then we’ll see what that rascal can come up with!” He grinned. “Haha, to be honest, I envy him. Buying two aircraft carriers and bringing out to sea as yachts. I can’t even imagine. But he just did it!”

“Don’t talk about this anymore. I was scared to death.” The Bureau Chief laughed. “That rascal either doesn’t do anything or goes all out.”

They both laughed. Suddenly, Mu Huishou barged in. He anxiously said, “Latest news! Angel of Misfortune has posted on Weibo again!”

“What?!” The mysterious middle-aged man stood up with the Bureau Chief in unison. The Bureau Chief asked in a low voice, “What does it say this time?”

“The Angel of Misfortune said…” Mu Huichou gulped. “The person who dares to vie Chuyin with me, misfortune will fall from the sky, and will fall into a bottomless abyss!”

“Okay. I got it.” The Bureau Chief waved his hand. “You may go out first.”

“Yes!”

“Misfortune will fall from the sky, and will fall into a bottomless abyss…” When Mu Huishou left the room, the mysterious middle-aged man rubbed his chin. “Both the sky and ground are dangerous. What can we guard against? It’s not safe to hide anywhere. The curse of the Angel of Misfortune may be absurd, but it has always proven to come true. That’s a problem.”

“Damn the Merika people.” The Bureau Chief clenched his teeth in hatred. “It was not easy for Heavenly State to have a lucky star like Hong Dali. They are going all out to get rid of that rascal!”

“I don’t have any good ideas to go against supernaturalism, either.” The mysterious middle-aged man thought for a while and then shook his head. “Forget it. Wu Di, aren’t you going to explore the underground cave with him today? Bring along a plainclothes guard. Prevent any strangers from getting too close to Hong Dali. Increase the investigation for any danger from the sky or the ground. Prohibit flying in the sky and cars on the ground!”

“Yes! I got it!” The Bureau Chief agreed immediately. “I’ll go look for him now.”
