Rebirth of the Godly Prodigal

Shanghai Tianhai City, Door to Heaven.

“Cough cough. Sigh, my throat is getting worse and worse recently.” Hong Weiguo stood in front of the window, coughing furiously. He only felt slightly better after he coughed his whole face red.

Being the absolute boss of Sangle, there was too much stuff for him to settle every day. Especially reports. He would need an hour or two every time to do a report. This had directly led to him suffering from some serious pharyngitis.

“Director Hong, your pharyngitis seems… Seems to have worsened again…” Secretary Xiao Liu watched with pain in his heart by the side.

Hong Weiguo was very caring towards his employees. Being his secretary, Xiao Liu was practically groomed by Hong Weiguo single-handedly. How could Xiao Liu not be concerned about Hong Weiguo’s health? However, being an ordinary person, there was nothing much Xiao Liu could help with regards to Hong Weiguo’s health.

“This is an old issue, there’s nothing I can about it, hehe.” Hong Weiguo slowly and helplessly shook his head. “These days, everyone will have some sort of issue or another, it’s normal. You don’t have to be so mindful of it.”

“But… Sigh…” Xiao Liu still wanted to say some more, but in the end, he chose to keep those words in his heart.

…

Chenhui Building, the laboratory on the fourth floor.

The people from other countries were already preparing to strike down on Hong Dali, but he was now looking at Little Meow, who was trying hard to stand up. In his mind, he said, “Heart-to-heart connection, group!”

Group heart-to-heart connection!

Upon this order, everyone present felt their heart get warm.

“Master.” A feeble voice sounded in everyone’s head. The voice was very soft and gentle, sounding like an obedient child. “Thank you, Master, for letting me stand again… I… I will definitely work hard…”

Everyone continuously encouraged Little Meow in their heart: “Little Meow, do your best! You can do it, you definitely can!”

“I… I will work hard!” On the bed, Little Meow slowly tried to stand up, bit by bit. Its two front paws had already been installed with the endoskeleton armor. After two days of rest, its wounds had already recovered by quite a lot. Now, it was the crucial moment of witnessing whether it was able to stand up or not!

“I… I want to work harder… I mustn’t let Master down…”

“Pain… The wounds are quite painful, but this pain, I… I’m not afraid of it…”

“This world is so beautiful… Master is so nice… Everyone is so nice too…”

“I… I am already grown-up now… I mustn’t let Master worry for me anymore…”

“I… Will definitely… Stand up!”

Little Meow frantically struggled to stand up. Its front paws had already been corrected, but because the paws had never been used ever since Little Meow was born, Little Meow couldn’t grasp the correct way of using the endoskeleton armor.

“Little Meow, do your best!” Hong Dali and the rest all cheered hard for Little Meow!

“I… Can do it… I definitely can!” Little Meow fell down more than fifty times, but there was no sign of it giving up.

Finally, after falling down for almost a hundred times, Little Meow’s two front paws firmly grasped the bed sheet, and even the claw from the endoskeleton armor extended out. It finally stood up!

Little Meow’s voice was very soft but very happy. “Master… I… I succeeded… I succeeded!”

It stood on the bed, testing it steps and walking towards Tang Muxin. One step… Two steps…

It walked faster and faster. In the end, it fiercely kicked its legs and pounced into Tang Muxin’s arm!

“Hahaha, Little Meow, well done!” Everyone cheered and Tang Muxin tightly hugged Little Meow in her arms, lovingly caressing its little paw. Her heart aching, she said, “Little Meow, it must be very painful for you, right? It will pass very quickly, very quickly!”

Hong Dali beamed with delight and said, “Haha, we succeeded, looks like we have really succeeded! Now, I have another good idea to squander. I shall let all the handicapped people in the world be equipped with this endoskeleton, brouhaha!”

Little Meow then pounced into Hong Dali’s arms and licked his face gently. “Master, thank you… This lifetime, being able to know you, it’s really… Too great… I’m the same as the other kittens now, I’m the same now…”

“Hehe, it’s nice for me to be able to meet you too, you are so adorable.” Hong Dali grinned and touched Little Meow’s head. “Slowly adjust to it, it will be fine once you have gotten used to it.”

“Miao…” Little Meow lazily rolled over in Hong Dali’s arm. Suddenly, its ears pricked up, and its fur all suddenly stood up. It hurriedly said, “Master, I sense danger approaching, something very dangerous… Master, be careful…”

Currently, everyone was still in the emotion connection range. Therefore, they all heard Little Meow’s words too.

There was a saying that cats had psychic abilities. Once Little Meow’s words sounded in their mind, a cold wind instantly blew by, causing everyone to shiver. Then, this cold wind seemed to fly one round in the room and then disappear.

Hearing Little Meow’s warning and feeling the cold wind, Tang Muxin instantly anxiously said, “Dali, Little Meow said that there might be danger, you must be careful! Don’t let yourself come into harm! My whole body felt weird just now. As if a cold wind passed by!” The little lass raised her elbow as she said so. “Look, I’m having goosebumps now!”

“What danger can there be?” However, Hong Dali felt indifferent towards this approaching danger. “I’m just a big prodigal, who would have nothing better to do but come looking for my trouble? Relax, it’s fine! Look at how superstitious you all are…”

“You, you didn’t feel anything just now?” Tang Muxin’s face was full of surprise. “There was obviously a gust of cold wind just now!”

“No, I didn’t feel anything.” Hong Dali felt strange and asked, “What cold wind, which deity would come looking for my trouble? Besides, I’m not afraid of troubles anyway, just relax.”

That was true, this dude’s life was tough as a rock. He had already attained most of the various skills in the System and could still level them up with attribute points, he was really not too concerned about his safety…

Hearing him say so, the others didn’t know what to think. They could only secretly decide in their hearts that they would do their best to protect the Young Master! They would definitely not let him come to any harm!

“OK, lackeys!” Hong Dali stood up and chicly waved his hand. “The outer area of Tianjing Mountain, let’s go, let’s go collect our stuff! Uncle Chief said that our new cars have arrived!”

…

On the way there, Hong Dali pretended to sleep, but in his mind, he called out the System. Very quickly, the cold metallic voice of the System sounded.

“Main mission: Squander 100 million yuan in two weeks time. Completed. Mission Reward: Five attribute points. Host’s current available attribute points: 17 points. Please allocate.”

Is there a need to think? The most important thing now is to increase the attributes of his family and friends!

Hong Dali decisively said, “Redeem attribute points for Family and Friends!”

Very quickly, the System said, “Host has chosen to activate the system for redeeming attribute points for Family and Friends. 10 attribute points deducted. Please wait a short while, detection in progress—”

After a short while, the System said, “Redeeming attribute points for Family and Friends, every three attribute points can be exchanged for one Family and Friends attribute point. Current redeemable members: Hong Weiguo(Host’s Father)—Current Health index: 72, Current Energy index: 69. Lan Ruoxi(Host’s Mother)—Current Health index: 76. Current Energy index: 78. Tang Muxin(Host’s Fiancée)—Current Health index: 87. Current Charisma index: 92. Li Nianwei(Host’s steadfast supporter. Loyalty degree: 100)—Current Health index: 82. Current Charisma index: 98. Lin Chuyin(Host’s steadfast ally. Loyalty degree: 100)—Current Health index: 75. Current Energy index: 81.”

“Additional explanation: The current attribute function will not be canceled when the System upgrades. Also, it will remain at a redeeming rate of 30 million for one attribute point and will not increase even after the System upgrades.”

After the System had finished with the introduction, Hong Dali was totally astonished.

From the current looks of things, the types of attributes for his Family and Friends were different. For his parents, the attributes were mainly focused on Health and Energy—oh, the technological geek Lin Chuyin was also the same. For his fiancée Tang Muxin, it was focused on Health and Charisma level—same for Sister Nianwei. From how it looked, these people were his absolute supports—the type that would never have any problems.

My current attribute points are 17, with another five reward points. After deducting 10 attribute points, I still have 12 points. Yup, currently looking, Dad’s health index is the lowest amongst all of them. Without any hesitation, Hong Dali said, “Exchange all of the attribute points to Hong Weiguo’s Health index!”

Dad, you didn’t love me for nothing. I shall definitely give you good health!

“Please wait for a short while…” The System’s voice sounded. “Redeeming in progress…”

After a short while, Hong Weiguo’s Health index became 76 points, the same as Lan Ruoxi’s.

“Not bad!” Hong Dali beamed with delight as he saw the increase and felt a sense of accomplishment. There was a saying that said that money couldn’t buy health. There was another bright saying that said that the most painful thing in life was when a person died he still hadn’t finished spending his money…

Therefore, it could be seen that health was the most important thing.

Only when we have health would we have everything. If there’s no health—what’s the point of earning so much money?

…

Door to Heaven.

“Cough cough… Cough… Huh?” After secretary Xiao Liu left, Hong Weiguo coughed again. However, he suddenly felt his whole body loosen up and felt light.

“Could it be that I have got the flu?” Hong Weiguo felt strange. Just as he thought of this, Hong Weiguo suddenly felt that his pharyngitis seemed to have improved a lot, and didn’t have that sticky feeling in his throat any more.

“That’s weird, why did my pharyngitis suddenly seem to have gotten better? What situation is this?” Hong Weiguo sat on the sofa and pondered. “I have this pharyngitis for 10 plus years. It gets cured and comes back again repeatedly. But this time, I didn’t really try to treat it yet, why does it suddenly feel so much better?”

He thought for a long while and then thought of how Hong Dali’s body also seemed to have suddenly gotten better in these few months time. In the end, Hong Weiguo opened his eyes wide and thought: Could it be that Dali cured my illness through his squandering too!? So magical?

Having thought of this, Hong Weiguo violently stood up and cheered. “Dali, don’t hesitate, squander as much as you want, your Dad supports you!”
