The Young Master in the Shadows

Chapter 496: Courting Death (3)

”You really move fast!” Alpha said as Victor finally slowed down 60 minutes after they crossed the wild mountains that marked the northern border of the Wiren Principality, due to historical reasons this place was mostly not inhabited, and although not that far from Vein city, as long as they didnʼt make enough commotion, things should be fine. ”Is this a new skill you learnt?” she asked.

”It is called CHAOS STEPS, a bloodline skill that allows me to warp space as I move, and it really came in handy in the other world where I had to do a lot of running away!” Victor told the truth as he activated his bloodlineʼs senses that allowed him to confirm that no ʼtastyʼ human beings were around for miles. ”The Lords there are really scary!” he added as he turned to face her.

”... So, you know what a Lord is...” She squinted her eyes. His mind raced as she confirmed her guess.

”More or less...” he said, telling the truth. Reading that archaic language of the book he got from the library was too much work, so he planned to squeeze all the info he needed from her after her ʼpunishmentʼ. ”Did you offer that Spark to the system in exchange for all the new sparkly skills you have? Even managing to remove my mark from your soul!”

”Who knows... I might do that after turning you into my pet!” she said, hiding her annoyance that he could tell everything she did. She needed to subdue this guy or kill him! He was too dangerous!

”Margret was right... You have some strange fetishes...” he said as he squatted to the ground and began to check the dirt to make sure it could withstand his attacks.

”You...”

”You shouldnʼt have done that to her though... ” he interrupted, changing his expression as he glared at her. Feeling sorry about what Margret would to to her later. ”I thought you also hated bullies, now that you became all powerful, it seems like you became one...”

”...I needed to pressure her to surrender... Wait... I donʼt need to explain anything to you!” she spat.

”Now really... It seems I will need to remind you who your master is!” he said, his face turning solemn.

”Fuck off!” she interrupted while using her dagger to strike behind her, where Victorʼs real body was standing ready for a fight.

BANG!

Her dagger was stopped by a strange engraved shield that materialized in Victorʼs hand, making a deep scratch on it.

”That sky eye is really annoying,” he told the truth as he took a few steps backward. Although she couldnʼt see him, that artifact allowed her to lock onto him.

”You shouldnʼt have given it to me,” she said as angrily as she stepped forward and struck again, making Victorʼs arm that held the shield hurt a bit as he parried her.

BANG

BANG BANG

BANG BANG BANG

Alpha moved fast, striving again and again, with Victor barely managing to dodge her.

Fssssssssssssssssssssssssttttt...

Her dagger suddenly expanded with a red ray that cut the side of his calf before he could jump away.

”Shit... You are really fast...” he said as he jumped back putting some distance between them, taking notice that his wound that should have healed almost immediately, didnʼt! He shouldnʼt have underestimated her!

”You are the slow one... ”she said as she hurried toward him and struck again, aiming for his other calf.

”A guy who does it fast is not popular with girls!” he replied, parrying against her with difficulty. Alpha was not like Lin who used her super strength randomly, due to the memories she inherited from her family, she could employ some sophisticated techniques! And due to the strange power surging in her attacks, he knew that he couldnʼt afford to get hit!

”Pervert....” Alpha spat as she struck one more time then stepped back and glared at him. ”How about we end this farce, you are no match for me... Hereʼs the deal, we sign a contract and you become my slave!” she said.

”You are the pervert here! ... Stop declaring your fetishes loudly like they are something to be proud of!” he said as he secretly activated his draconic bloodline, just barely to allow the wound on his calf to start healing. It didnʼt!

”Shut it...” she cursed as she vanished from her place and attacked him.

BANG... BANG...

BOOM

As she attacked, this time Victor, who knew he couldnʼt afford to keep messing around, didnʼt parry, but instead faced her head-on, injuring his hand by catching her dagger with his fist, and as she was about to slash him, she suddenly felt something hit her stomach.

Before she could understand what happened, she was blown away 30 meters into a mountainside, causing a huge cloud of dust and debris.

”To make me your slave you should be able to beat me first...” he said as he looked at his hand that no longer looked like that of a human with thick silvery scales covering it. There was no blood on it.

As he fully activated his bloodlines, his wounds all healed almost immediately. It was the demonic bloodline that completely countered her power while the draconic bloodline accelerated his healing. ”How about this... We fight it off, and the winner will be the otherʼs slave!” he said looking up.

He could tell that Alpha had the same idea as his before, she was playing with him and using him to test her powers. Now that he was assured that her power couldnʼt harm him, he decided to humor her a little more. It felt good going all out!

”So, we are already resorting to using our bloodlines... ”Alpha spat as she walked out of the dust. She was mostly uninjured, just wincing a bit because of the pain in her stomach.

Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

As the wind blew the dust away, Victor opened his eyes in surprise.

She was always pretty, but now she has reached a completely new level. A full 20/10 on the old Lily scale.

Her blond hair like her eyes had become deep crimson red, and her ears were no longer those of a human, but long and slim like an elf!

”Wow... That red hair really suits you!” Victor said, telling the truth. If she had had that red hair long ago, he would have included her in the wedding!

”Bastard!” she spat, vanishing from her place and appearing beside him, striking, not with her dagger, but by a barbed whip made out of blood. Her own blood!

BANG

BANG BANG BANG

This time, he didnʼt even use the shield to deflect her, but his bare fists. Although it stung a bit, it didnʼt penetrate his scales!

”You have some crazy bloodline there...” she exclaimed in shock as she began to move faster, her whip became a vortex of blood striking him faster and faster searching for a weak point.

”You can drink it if you want... If you can handle it, that is... I bet your class should allow you to use some of its powers...”

”SHUT UP!” she flared remembering the mistake she made long ago when she licked his blood off her dagger and became his plaything! Although she was sure his skill could no longer affect her, she still felt annoyed.

”Make me if you can!” he smirked, gesturing for her to come at him.

”...” She didnʼt, as she paused and glared at him, calming herself down a bit. She was not going to fall into his rhythm.

”You are no fun...” he sighed.

”Before we continue, I want to ask you about something. You might lose that head of yours later...” she said, telling the truth. Due to his level exceeding her expectations, she was not sure if she would be able to control her power not to maim or even kill him later.

”My three sizes? I thought you already knew that!”

”...” She couldnʼt help rolling her eyes. ”Whatʼs your real name?”

”Victor... Victor Von Weise... You should already know that...”

”And the one you had before it?”

”... I...” he paused. ”I donʼt really recall if I had one before, I was a toddler...”

”Enough with the lies... Isnʼt it Necklace von Weise?” she asked, being 99% sure of her guess. ”I had to confess, I almost bought that time travel lie you made, but thankfully now I know the truth!”

”...” he paused. ”It seems like in my absence you learnt quite a lot of things!” he said, frowning a bit.

”After you guys betrayed the Empress and forced her to blow herself up, it seems like you were the ones who got the biggest piece!” she said. ”You couldnʼt escape the curse though... If my guess is correct, you must have used the Draconic old Heart Swap ritual to revive after finding the most suitable body!”

”...” Victor felt amused. Maybe the truths he was searching for about his world were closer than he expected. ”Nice theory, but you are wrong... I am really just Victor!”

”Like hell a teenage boy would grow as fast as you did in this little time... It hasnʼt even been a year since your awakening!” Alpha spat.

”You are free to believe whatever you want... It doesnʼt matter...” he sighed. ”I really wanted to have some more fun testing my fists on you... But it is time to wrap this up!” he said as his face began to change, growing more sinister yet demonically charming, his eyes growing dark red.

He was activating his bloodlines completely.

”Demonic?” Alpha immediately gasped as she looked at his face.

Handsome...

That was the only world she could think of. Why the fuck was he this handsome!

Her body shook as her entire being wanted just one thing, to mate with this supreme being and bear his child!

”aHHHHHHHHHH... SHIT!” she cursed as her power activated, pulling her out of her depraved thoughts a mere second later and allowing her to move to the side just in time to miss the 10 needles Victor threw at her.

”So, you can still keep you cool looking at me...” he smirked, it made him more handsome!

”Shit... What the fuck! It seems like I will also go all out!” she spat as she sweated a bit, making sure not to look at his face as she activated her power to the fullest.

It was really close, and she couldnʼt believe she was having that kind of thought. She was also feeling a sense of dread. If she were to have rebelled against him before she became a lord, she would have been totally defeated, and maybe ended up getting ravished with those muscles.... ”AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!” she screamed as she struggled to the side, dodging his fist.

”You are no fun!” he said, smiling devilishly as he flicked his fingers.

”ETERNITY!” As she struggled to keep her wits, she screamed just in time as a huge vortex of Fire descended on her. It paused in its place.

BANG!

The Vortex lost its energy and exploded in midair a moment later, creating a shockwave that hit the mountain, blowing up almost half of it! The half that was not protected with Alphaʼs power!

She wasnʼt affected at all as she turned and welcomed Victorʼs fist that was aimed at her heart!

Bang...

She was only pushed back by three steps as she used a strange shield of green energy to parry his attack.

Bang...

CLANK... bang...

Bang...

Clank.

The battle insured, Victor fighting her with his fists and razor-sharp claws, and she was attacking with her whip and defending with an Ethereal energy shield that stopped all the magical skills Victor was throwing at her and only reverberating a bit when it met his fists.

Skills flew everywhere, wrecking havoc across what remained of the mountain. What made Victor alert though was that every few seconds Alpha would shoot a green ray from her fist, On the few occasions that it managed to scratch him, it made him stagger down a bit, forcing him to use all his skills from both lifetimes not to reveal an opening.

”Damn it... Why isnʼt my power affecting you!” she cursed after 30 full minutes. She felt like she was punching a sandbag, it always came back at her no matter how hard she hit!

”I am immune to your charm, Lady!” Victor, who hid how stressed he was, said with a smirk. ”This Eternal Concept you have thought is really interesting...” he added. Fighting Alpha was like moving in thick syrup, he was using his all just to keep out with her. Adding to that, he could feel it as his blood and muscles began to decay more and more as he fought... If it were not for his super regeneration skills, he would have been long dead.

His energy was draining fast though. So, he should end this soon.

”...” She didnʼt answer him, focusing on hitting him faster with one hand using her whip and shooting other skills at him. She didnʼt dare to kick or use any melee attack as she realized that if she were to grab her, she would be in trouble!

”It is very similar to time... but it is not....” he pondered as they fought. Fainting that he was getting tired. ”If I can make a guess, it has something to do with the object itself, and not the world, the existential dual ... I see...” he said as his eyes sparkled, remembering a few verses from the books he read. He finally got it!

”...” Alpha frowned. She didnʼt understand what he was saying, and this made her feel a little annoyed, him knowing about her spark more than her!

”I bet you have no idea how your power works, merely using the System skills against me...” he said. Fighting Alpha, was very different from when he fought the other lords in Ismeralia.

Unlike how masterful she appeared when they fought melee before, using this Eternal Power, she appeared like a total novice, just spamming attacks against him without understanding how her power worked.

”Understanding concepts takes time...” she spat angrily, ”Time you donʼt have...” she added with a smirk as she finally began to notice that he began to lose energy. There was a limit on how much he could fool her. ”ETERNAL ARENA!” she declared as she flew back and spread her hands creating a sphere of light that grew out of her palms, passing Victor and covering an entire mile around them. It was as if the world around them became an entire different world. ”Now you will not be able to escape!” she said as if she were reading his mind. ”Accept your defeat, or die!” she spat.

”...” he stopped attacking, taking a deep breath to calm himself as he looked at her. ”It seems like my current limit is still not to standard...” he pondered, sounding a little tired.

”It is good to know your place, INSECT! Grovel beneath my feet and declare me your mistress!” she ordered as she fought hard against her mind that began to go wild with very strange thoughts on how to put him to good use after this.

”We will see about that...” he said, feeling a little amused by her struggle expression. Too bad his charms were not enough to completely defeat her. ”Letʼs end this... KHARMATIC ARBITRATION!” he declared, activating his skill.

[author] Might come back to this fight later to make it more dramatic... But at more than 2000 words, it should be enough...

Now... What should Victor do with Alpha?
