Chapter 192: Chapter 159: Rocking Bed (3 updates)

After dinner and washing the dishes, I locked the front door.

Fang Yu then entered the room with Ding Hui.

As soon as the door closed, Ding Hui suddenly exclaimed loudly,

”Your room is so small!”

”And so cluttered.”

”Let me help you tidy up!”

She claimed she would help to tidy up, but she didn’t lift a finger.

Instead, she lay on the bed like a lump of mud.

Fang Yu: ...

Before Fang Yu could say anything, Ding Hui’s voice echoed in his mind,

”What are you looking at me for? You really expect me to clean up? Get moving yourself!”

Actually clean up?

Fang Yu looked at Ding Hui gloomily, and she seriously nodded.

”Yes, clean up, or else my shouting would be for nothing.”

You’re just pulling my leg!

Fang Yu gloomily began to tidy the room.

His room wasn’t particularly messy, but it wasn’t exactly tidy either. A real clean-up would take a while.

Meanwhile, Ding Hui was sitting on the bed, swinging her legs nonchalantly, amusedly watching Fang Yu bustling about.

”Hey, you missed a spot over there. Hurry up!”

”How could someone leave their underpants all over the place, that’s embarrassing!”

”Ah! You threw your underpants on my face, now I’m dirty, Diao Deyi, you have to take responsibility for me!”

Get lost!

Would I carelessly throw around underpants? That’s a baseless slander on my integrity.

Fang Yu glared angrily, but Ding Hui continued to giggle.

Not only was the work tedious, but having someone babbling in my head, bossing me around, is downright life-threatening.

”What are you looking at? Want my help? Unless you marry me, don’t expect me to lift a finger to help, hehehehe!”

Fang Yu’s eyelid twitched.

He really wanted to go over there and slap her to see if she would stop her nonsense!

But he still needed her help, so he remained silent, suffering in silence.

When he finished tidying up, Fang Yu asked, ”Was there any point in doing this?”

”None at all, just something to keep you busy before the medicine takes effect.”

So she really was just messing with me!

”Don’t worry, I know you are anxious.”

Ding Hui’s voice rang in his brain.

”Let me tell you, your elder sister has a problem. What’s the normal reaction of a family member seeing their younger brother bring home a girl?”

”...Happy?”

”Close enough, it’s a typical response you’d get from a warrior like you.”

Ding Hui paused and then said, ”Generally, family elders feel excitement and happiness when a young relative brings a woman home. But your elder sister is a bit different, she has a mix of emotions which I immediately detected.”

”What kind of emotions?”

”Jealousy.”

”Jealousy?” Fang Yu didn’t understand, ”What does that imply?”

”It suggests she’s worried about another woman taking her place.”

”But she’s my elder sister. Even if I get married, she’ll still be my elder sister.”

”That’s where your elder sister differs from normal family elders.”

Ding Hui continued with conviction, ”People are complicated. Each person’s environment and experiences shape their character and the way they handle affairs.”

”I’ve read about your family. All of you have struggled to make ends meet throughout your lives.”

”Your elder sister did the same; when others her age were meeting men and considering marriage, she was too busy ensuring there was food on the table.”

”The only males she’s ever spent significant time with are you, her younger brother, and your missing elder brother.”

”So your elder sister might have confused familial affection with a different kind of feeling, which is why she’s feeling jealous and anxious about me.”

”It’s a cognitive distortion and misplacement of self-identity, sort of a psychological issue.”

Fang Yu was astonished.

It was like listening to a revelation.

Have NPCs evolved to the level of psychological experts now??

”Can you make it simpler?”

”To put it simply, your elder sister relies on you. She relies too much and sees you as her possession. So her response to me, an outsider coming to claim you, is quite interesting.”

Fang Yu wondered, ”What’s the big deal? I rely on my elder sister too; we’ve depended on each other for many years.”

”It’s tough to explain to you.”

Ding Hui rolled her eyes.

”In any case, I need to exploit her personality flaws to stir her up and draw out the Spirit Powder’s effect.”

”Whether your elder sister will marry off smoothly or remain a burden on your family after you marry, that’s your worry to bear.”

As she spoke, Ding Hui shouted in Fang Yu’s mind.

”Shake the bed.”

”What?”

”Shake the bed.”

What kind of maneuver is shaking the bed?

Fang Yu was baffled, but obediently went to shake the bed.

The bed was wooden and quite old, so Fang Yu was careful not to be forceful.

A creaking sound came after a few shakes.

While Fang Yu was carefully controlling his force, Ding Hui’s face suddenly lit up with joy.

”There it is!”

Her emotions seemed to run so high that, rather than voicing her thoughts in his mind, she shouted out loud.

Fang Yu’s vision blurred and the next moment, Ding Hui had burst out of the room.

Fang Yu hurriedly followed. Ding Hui had kicked open his elder sister’s door and stood at the entrance, looking inside as if she was admiring a masterpiece.

Like an artist appreciating a profound work of art, her cheeks flushed with excitement, saliva nearly dripping from her mouth.

Muttering to herself unconsciously, she praised,

”Brilliant... it’s too brilliant... What a startling idea! A demon among demons! A demon among demons!!”

She turned towards Fang Yu with excitement plastered on her face.

”Come quickly! Diao Deyi, come and see! It’s beautiful! An incomplete fusion of human and spirit, that subtle boundary... Indescribably exquisite! This will be a new field of exploration!”

Ding Hui was so excited that she was practically dancing and speaking nonsensically.

Fang Yu looked over and his pupils contracted at the sight.

His elder sister was lying on the bed, her brain emitting wisps of red steam, and her body mysteriously hovering in midair!
