Invincible from Seeing the BOSS's Health Bar

Chapter 169: Chapter 148: I’m Here (5 Updates, Request for Monthly Votes!)_2

The journey is long and fraught with danger at every turn.

This is the situation with the Dragon’s Dominion Guild.

The guild just happened to have two members who ended up in Mountain and Sea Town, but that’s all they have.

They’re used to being arrogant, so whenever they see players, they rough them up a bit for some pocket change.

But then they met their match.

A dorm of black-hearted players got lucky - after dying and resurrecting, two respawned in Mountain and Sea Town, while another respawned in a nearby village and ran over. Together, they formed a group of three black-hearts.

And then, the fight broke out.

Two against three, everyone was a newbie, but of course, the side with more people won, not to mention these three tricksters had the smarts to prepare weapons nearby before the fight.

Ambushes with clubs and all that.

The pride of the Dragon’s Dominion Guild was hurt here, thinking that these three bastards only knew how to ambush and play dirty, that in a fair fight they’d be no match for them.

So both sides started cursing each other out over the air for several days, attracting a crowd of forum onlookers munching on popcorn.

Fang Yu finished reading the thread with a sense of unsatisfaction.

He hit F5 to refresh but, alas, no new posts.

Currently, both sides are recruiting more people, all rushing to Mountain and Sea Town.

Fang Yu shook his head; in this demon-infested environment, to still be traveling, he had little hope for the Dragon’s Dominion Guild’s fate.

Most likely they’d be cooled off on the road.

Luckily, some tested and found out that the highest death CD (cool-down) is capped at ten days.

That is, aside from the doubled resurrection CD of one hour or two hours for beginners, once the time is capped, you can get about three resurrects per month.

This punishment is harsh, so after the test results came out, players, big and small, began to value their lives a little more.

The first few deaths didn’t have long CDs, but later, with ten days per respawn, who could kick the addiction? The game is hot right now, the momentum has not yet passed, and everyone wants to submerge themselves in the game 24/7. To be forced to quit suddenly would be agonizing.

Currently, it’s unclear if the resurrection CD will reset to zero at the beginning of each month or something; people will continue to test.

Fang Yu originally thought those who tested the death CD were selfless, using their precious accounts to provide data for everyone.

Only later did he find out that the testers were leading traffic to their personal accounts.

This guy knew how to attract followers.

But it also caused public outrage.

Hence, after some people were lured into buying the death data, they released it for free on the forums, and that’s how the news spread.

So, neither fame nor fortune was gained, and this person sulked away and deleted their account.

The spat between Dragon’s Dominion Guild and the Dorm of Black-Hearts is a current hot topic, but Fang Yu had already finished watching the show.

Scrolling further, he came across posts about enviable adventures.

Like meeting a certain martial arts master who teaches martial arts, setting one on the path to Martial Arts for a boundless future.

Or praying in a temple, suddenly receiving the sacred words of Buddha, gaining XP faster in everything, and rapidly increasing in strength.

Fang Yu nearly ground his back teeth to powder with envy.

He had gotten to where he was today all through his own hard work and diligence!

Shen Lan, add points!

I want to punch the lucky dogs’ heads through the screen!

Taking shortcuts is the way of evil and heresy, and should be punished by everyone!!

Sometimes, Fang Yu wondered what it would be like if there were an attribute point panel in real life - wouldn’t that be taking off?

But alas, it’s nothing more than wishful thinking, shouting a couple of cheesy lines, getting no response, and then realizing that reality is reality, and games are games.

Suddenly, Fang Yu remembered something.

He had bookmarked Rich Lei’s entertaining post and hadn’t checked it yet.

Not sure if Rich Lei had lost his touch, the post didn’t even make the top ten on the homepage, and there was no sign of him after flipping through seven or eight pages.

Could it have died early?

He opened his bookmarks.

”Recruiting professional gamers, freelance experts, and general players in Rolling Stone City to help with leveling up. Starting at 1000 yuan per day.”

The post was still there, updated a day ago.

Clicking in, Fang Yu instantly burst into laughter.

It turned out just as he expected.

This leveling-up method was fraught with too many problems.

First was the unpredictability of demons, having them randomly walking the streets to cut down people or hunt demons, which led to over a dozen getting beheaded by the Foolish Underworld in broad daylight.

Fortunately, Lei Shenhao had gathered a significant number of people this time.

They immediately switched to the second plan, wandering the streets at random, with a particular focus on following Foolish Underworld’s staff.

The result was that a few more got cut down by the Foolish Underworld’s people, mistaking them for demons.

However, luckily, they came across a Foolish Underworld’s capture of a demon.

Word spread from one to ten, ten to a hundred, and Lei Shenhao led his people to join the fray.

First, they ambushed and killed the Foolish Underworld’s people. Then, they surrounded and beat up the demon until they thought it was enough and let Lei Shenhao take shots with his bow.

Thank goodness Lei Shenhao, as Rich Lei, had some archery skills, although he hardly hit the mark, but it did some damage... right?

In the end, all the people died, and Lei Shenhao didn’t manage to take down the demon. Instead, the Foolish Underworld’s staff who rushed over ended the battle with a sword strike, decapitating the demon, which almost drove Lei Shenhao mad.

They did get some Experience Points, but how was that enough?

You should know that at his peak moments, he was gaining ten to twenty attribute points per day.

It was by killing other players that Experience Points grew faster.

Such crooked methods suit Lei Shenhao’s style.

Unfortunately, the player protection mechanism in this game is too good, doesn’t give red-name PK players any chance.

This defeat cost Lei Shenhao dearly.

Not financially, he has plenty of money.

The main problem is that he’s out of men, and now he needs to recruit locally again, not to mention being marked by Foolish Underworld, becoming a suspect for being a demon.

”Wait for my triumphant return!”

The post ended with these six characters.

It’s still you, Lei Shenhao!

Fang Yu, happy.

Yeah, just happy.

Feels like I don’t need to eat today, I’m full, completely full.

This wave, this wave is called a meat bomb assault.

Looks like it’s about time.

Fang Yu closed the gaming forum, ready to play the game.

Suddenly, a news alert popped up from the bottom right corner of the browser.

Fang Yu didn’t care at first, these spammy popup news are all too common.

But those striking keywords suddenly made his hand freeze.

”Twins Hospital, death toll soars to 30 people!”

What the heck!

What happened? So many people died?

Fang Yu remembered, and Twins Hospital, isn’t that the biggest hospital near our neighborhood?

Fang Yu suddenly felt a bit anxious.

These past few days, he had been busy with gaming and had completely missed that such a big incident happened at the nearby hospital!

He looked for more reports.

Wow, the internet has all sorts of stories.

Some are about corrupt doctors using dirty scalpels.

Others say a nurse gave out an overdose, killing a bunch of people at once.

Anyway, it’s all negative news, leaving people feeling uneasy, even if that hospital reopens, I doubt anyone would dare to go.

Other than Twins Hospital, the other regular large hospitals are all quite far away.

If Twins Hospital closes, any emergency occurrences, and you won’t make it to the hospital in time.

After all, even the nearest clinics are far away.

With a large hospital nearby, it was already tough for small clinics to survive.

And those small clinics are for minor illnesses, can’t go there for serious ones.

Thinking it over, Fang Yu decided to buy some first-aid kits to keep at home, just something for emergency bandaging would be fine.

This way, in case of an incident, he could last until getting to a farther large hospital.

He searched online and found the prices to be quite beautiful.

But he still gritted his teeth and made the purchase.

”I wonder if Sister Jin has prepared any? With her carefree attitude, she probably doesn’t even know the big hospital next door has closed.”

”Should I buy a set for her too?”

Another order placed, and only then did Fang Yu close Taobao.

Having done all this, Fang Yu felt much more at ease.

However, this news made Fang Yu pay more attention to reality.

Even though he never leaves his house, he still needed to be aware of what’s happening outside, can’t be all about games in his head.

After all, health is the real capital of revolution.

He searched again, and without searching, it was fine, but one search and he got a fright.

A serial killer has recently emerged in Jiangnan City!

Holy sh*t!

Is this real??

Fang Yu immediately ran to check if the door was double-locked.

OK, it’s locked tight.

Scary stuff.

For someone like him who stays home gaming all day and lives alone, if a murderer sneaks into his house one day and slits his throat, he’d still be happily gaming, and then suddenly lose the connection.

A true disconnection, straight to Underworld.

He sent a WeChat message to Sister Jin, telling her not to go out recently, to be careful of the murderer from the news, and to inform her about the hospital closing next door.

Sister Jin didn’t respond, probably not up yet?

Fang Yu didn’t mind, after all, it is quite early now, the morning sun has just risen.

Fang Yu decisively crawled back into bed and went into the game.

After a while, Fang Yu’s phone screen lit up.

It’s a WeChat message.

Qi Xiaojin: ”Don’t worry, it’s fine. I’m here.”
