Reborn in the 90s with a Space: Winning Back My Husband

Shen Nian nodded at the man, then turned to look at Lu Cheng beside her.

She had made such a bold decision without telling Lu Cheng beforehand. ’I wonder if he’ll be angry.’

”Go ahead, I’m with you! If there’s anything you need me to do, just tell me!”

Lu Cheng would support anything Shen Nian wanted to do, and besides, he trusted that she wouldn’t attempt something she wasn’t confident about.

Besides, the most important thing right now was the old man lying on the ground. Everything else could be dealt with later.

”Okay. Then you can help me.”

As she spoke, Shen Nian pulled Lu Cheng down to squat beside the old man.

”First, lay him flat. He can’t be hunched over like this, or it’ll make it hard for him to breathe.”

”Got it.”

”His collar is too tight. Unbutton the first few buttons.”

”I’ll do it!”

Shen Nian checked the old man’s breathing. He was still breathing, but it was obviously very faint. The situation was already critical.

Without another moment of hesitation, Shen Nian began rhythmically pressing on the old man’s chest, performing CPR.

After several minutes, Shen Nian felt the old man’s condition seem to improve slightly. A wave of joy washed over her, and she kept up the compressions without pause.

But the continuous, high-intensity effort began to take its toll. Shen Nian’s strength gradually faded, and beads of sweat started to form on her forehead.

As the crowd watched Shen Nian’s methodical actions, the initial scornful whispers gradually died down, occasionally replaced by a few voices of praise.

”That girl doesn’t look very old, but she seems to have some real skills. Maybe she can actually save the old man!”

”Shh, be quiet! The girl just told us to keep it down and not disturb him!”

Shen Nian paid no attention to what the onlookers were saying. At that moment, her mind was focused on only one thing: the old man beside her.

”Xiao Nian, let me take over!”

Lu Cheng’s heart ached as he looked at Shen Nian. While the crowd was praising her, he could see the immense pressure she was under. Moreover, her strength was clearly waning, and her breathing was becoming unsteady.

”Do you know how?”

Shen Nian looked at Lu Cheng, her gaze hazy with exhaustion. She really was getting tired, but even so, she persisted with the compressions, not stopping for a second.

”Don’t worry.”

Lu Cheng had received some first-aid training before, and he had also memorized the motions Shen Nian had just been performing.

Shen Nian trusted Lu Cheng. Besides, she was well aware of her own condition. If her strength gave out, it would be no help to the old man.

So, making a quick decision, Shen Nian switched places with Lu Cheng.

Seeing that Lu Cheng was performing the compressions just as well as she had, Shen Nian felt a sense of relief. Her eyes, fixed on him, were filled with pride.

’This outstanding man is mine!’

Although she had handed the CPR over to Lu Cheng, Shen Nian didn’t stay idle.

After checking the old man’s breathing and pulse, Shen Nian leaned down and whispered into his ear.

”Sir, if you can hear me, try to cough a few times to let me know.”

There was a good reason Shen Nian asked the man to cough. Some time before her rebirth, she had read a report from abroad which stated that during a heart attack, light, rhythmic coughing can effectively promote blood circulation and relieve pressure on the heart.

Although the old man’s eyes were tightly shut, he hadn’t completely lost consciousness. He knew someone was trying to save him, so after hearing Shen Nian’s words, he did as she said and coughed lightly twice.

Shen Nian’s heart leaped with joy, and she continued to coach the old man from the side.

After more than ten minutes of this, the old man’s complexion had visibly eased, and his breathing had become much smoother. At last, he slowly opened his eyes.

”He’s awake! He’s awake! The old man really woke up!”

”It’s incredible! That girl is really something else!”

”They actually brought him back! It’s a miracle!”
