Reborn in the 90s with a Space: Winning Back My Husband

As the trafficker spoke, the hand holding the knife twitched, moving much closer to Shen Nian’s neck. If he moved it just a fraction closer, the blade would instantly slice through her throat.

”Don’t do anything rash! We won’t move. Just take it easy!”

Seeing the trafficker had actually pulled a knife, the men across from him grew frantic. They couldn’t just watch him kill someone in front of them, especially not when the hostage was the good Samaritan who had reported the crime in the first place.

”All of you, back up! Get off the train!”

This wasn’t the final station; the train would be moving on soon.

The trafficker was well aware that he had no chance of escaping on the train. His first priority was to get off and then figure out his next move.

’Anyway, I have a hostage,’ he thought. ’I bet these cops won’t dare to touch me!’

”Fall back.”

The man in the center spoke to the two beside him. The three of them simultaneously took a few steps back, but their eyes remained locked on the trafficker and Shen Nian.

Meanwhile, others on the platform noticed the commotion, and people soon started heading their way.

But as they drew closer, they realized how precarious the situation was. Someone had already run off to report to a superior.

The trafficker quickly dragged Shen Nian off the train, the knife still pressed to her throat. By now, the civilians on the platform had been evacuated, making the pair stand out even more.

Elsewhere, after subduing another trafficker and handing him over to the police, Lu Cheng received a report from his subordinate.

”Group leader, a trafficker over by Car 15 has taken a hostage. They’re in a standoff.”

”I’m on my way.”

With that, Lu Cheng took the lead, striding quickly toward Car 15. His subordinate hurried to keep up.

”What’s the exact situation?” Lu Cheng asked as they rushed toward their destination.

”Our men had all the exits sealed, but we didn’t anticipate two traffickers coming out of Car 15 at once. Our team subdued one, but the other immediately threatened them with the child he was holding. Then, somehow, the hostage changed from the child to a woman. Now, both our team and the police are on the scene, but we’re at a standstill.”

But that was all they could do. After all, with a hostage in the trafficker’s hands, they didn’t dare make any sudden moves.

”We’re almost there, group leader.”

”Mm,” Lu Cheng grunted, nodding as he quickened his pace again.

Up ahead were the trafficker and his hostage.

But in that first instant, Lu Cheng’s gaze fell upon the one figure that haunted his waking thoughts and dreams.

And now, the woman he cherished above all else was being held at knifepoint by a trafficker. The slightest movement of that blade, and it would slice open Shen Nian’s throat!

Lu Cheng froze. He didn’t stop to wonder why Shen Nian was here. His only thought was how to rescue her from the trafficker’s grasp, completely unharmed.

Just as Lu Cheng spotted Shen Nian, she saw him emerge from the crowd.

”Lu Cheng!”

Shen Nian never, in a million years, expected to see Lu Cheng here! ’Shouldn’t he be on an assignment right now? What is he doing here?’

The trafficker, of course, heard Shen Nian call out Lu Cheng’s name.

”You bitch, you actually know these guys? If I’d known, I would’ve finished you off back on the train!”

The trafficker was filled with regret. ’If only I’d dealt with this woman sooner, none of this would be happening!’

’But back then, who would’ve thought a single woman could cause so much trouble!’

”You dare touch a hair on her head!”
