Build a Fifty-meter Giant Mecha at the Beginning!

216: The mountain city stopped construction to create a quiet environment for Zhang YuanhangWorried that someone might disturb Academician Zhang Yuanhang, The Top Leader decided to create an absolutely quiet environment for him.

”Xiao Jia, take people immediately and shut down all factories in Shancheng Military Base.”

”All research staff at Shancheng Military Base should take a temporary leave.”

The Top Leader said.

”Ah?” Leader Jia was a bit stunned. Shancheng Military Base was currently the technology hub of Huaxia, or rather, it wouldn’t be wrong to call it the technology center of Huaxia.

Stopping it now would result in an enormous loss for Huaxia.

”Chief, there are so many research projects at Shancheng Military Base. Stopping all of them might be too...”

Leader Jia was interrupted by Old Wang, who was standing beside him, before he could finish his sentence.

”The top priority now is Xiao Zhang. Everything else can be put on hold for a while.”

”All other projects can be suspended.”

Old Wang said with a serious expression.

”Yes!”

Leader Jia nodded and immediately sent people to notify the project leaders at Shancheng Military Base, summoning them to the conference room.

”Everyone, we have just received orders from above. All projects are suspended starting now. Everyone can temporarily go home and rest.”

”We will await further notice from the higher-ups.”

Leader Jia said.

Immediately, the project leaders below fell into a commotion.

”Leader Jia, our project is halfway through! How can we stop it now!”

”Exactly! Even if we have to stop, you need to give us a reason!”

”The project is on the verge of success! How can you just stop it like that!”

”I’m telling you right now, even if the King of Heaven comes, he can’t stop my project!”

...Some hot-tempered project leaders directly slammed the table at Leader Jia.

Everyone glared angrily.

”Everyone, Everyone, calm down, calm down.”

Leader Jia gestured for Everyone to quiet down.

Seeing the situation, the project leaders temporarily fell silent. They wanted to hear what Leader Jia had to say.

If he didn’t give them a reasonable explanation, they wouldn’t suspend their projects.

”Academician Zhang Yuanhang has begun his ’seclusion’. The invention Academician Zhang Yuanhang is working on this time is extremely important for our Huaxia.”

”The Top Leader and Old Wang both specifically rushed over from the Capital.”

”To avoid disturbing Academician Zhang Yuanhang, The Top Leader ordered our entire Shancheng Military Base to cease operations.”

Leader Jia explained the situation to Everyone in detail.

Hearing that Zhang Yuanhang was ’in seclusion’ again, Everyone present nodded.

If that were the case, they would be willing to suspend their projects to provide a quiet environment for Zhang Yuanhang.

”Leader Jia, what is Academician Zhang Yuanhang researching this time?”

One project leader asked curiously.

The others all perked up their ears.

”How would I know that?”

”Academician Zhang Yuanhang’s room is currently protected by security personnel, three layers deep inside and three layers deep outside.”

”No one knows what’s going on inside.”

Leader Jia spread his hands.

Then he shrugged his shoulders.

”I wonder what Academician Zhang Yuanhang will research this time?”

Curiosity filled Everyone’s chests.

”Alright, Everyone.”

”Let’s focus on the important matters first. All of you go back and notify the people on your projects to get some good rest.”

After Leader Jia finished speaking, he hurriedly left the conference room, planning to stay by The Top Leader and Old Wang’s side.

At this moment, The Top Leader and Old Wang arrived at Shancheng’s Government building.

”Chief, Old Wang.”

The Shancheng Leader, accompanied by all the leaders big and small from Shancheng, came out to greet The Top Leader.

”Mhm, mhm.”

The Top Leader and Old Wang nodded with a smile.

They had a purpose for coming here.

The Top Leader and Old Wang planned to temporarily shut down Shancheng, with the entire city ceasing work, to avoid disturbing Zhang Yuanhang.

”This time, we have come to Shancheng to assign an important task to Shancheng.”

The Top Leader said with a serious expression.

”Chief, please speak.”

”No matter what the task, our Shancheng can take it on and complete it perfectly.”

Shancheng’s economy was currently the undisputed number one among all major cities in Huaxia.

Various factories were located in Shancheng, giving the Shancheng Leader the confidence to say such words.

”Good.”

The Top Leader nodded in satisfaction.

”I need all factories in Shancheng to cease operations, and Everyone to take a holiday.”

The Top Leader’s words made the Shancheng Leader freeze.

What?

Did he just mishear?

The various leaders, big and small, from Shancheng, who were following behind the Shancheng Leader, also stood rooted to the spot, unsure what to do.

Currently, Shancheng was making a fortune every day. Stopping for one day would likely result in losses measured in tens or even hundreds of billions.

”Xiao Zhang is currently researching something extremely important for our Huaxia.”

”We cannot provide assistance to Xiao Zhang, but we also cannot hold him back!”

”All we can do now is help Xiao Zhang create an absolutely safe environment.”

The Top Leader explained the situation to the Shancheng Leader.

Hearing that it concerned Zhang Yuanhang, the eyes of all the leaders, big and small, present became resolute.

”Chief, I understand. I will arrange for it immediately.”

”But Chief, how long will we have to stop work for?”

The Shancheng Leader inquired.

”No one knows that. As soon as Xiao Zhang finishes his research, Shancheng can return to normal.”

The Top Leader said.

”Then Chief, can I tell the citizens the truth of the matter?”

”That way, our work will be much easier.”

The Shancheng Leader said.

Shancheng’s current prosperity was entirely due to Zhang Yuanhang, and the people of Shancheng’s gratitude towards Zhang Yuanhang was beyond words.

If they knew that this major shutdown in Shancheng was to cooperate with Zhang Yuanhang, then there would be no need for the Government to supervise; every citizen would actively and voluntarily cooperate.

”Alright!”

The Top Leader naturally understood that things would be much more convenient once the people of Shancheng knew the truth.

So, he agreed.

”Then Chief, I will go make the arrangements now.”

After receiving The Top Leader’s approval, the Shancheng Leader also began to get busy.

Shancheng News.

”Dear citizens, we are now broadcasting an urgent major news flash.”

”We have just received news that Academician Zhang Yuanhang has begun a major research project. To ensure the smooth progress of the project,”

”Starting today, our Shancheng will cease operations. All factories, construction sites, and companies will be on holiday. During the holiday, the Government will issue subsidies daily.”

”Please, all citizens, actively cooperate!”

...As soon as the news broke, the entire population of Shancheng was stunned.
