Build a Fifty-meter Giant Mecha at the Beginning!

204: Academician Zhao: Whose little invention has a plasma shield?!”Good!”

The Top Leader was thrilled when he heard Academician Zhang Yuanhang’s reply.

”Clap! Clap! Clap!!!”

Everyone applauded, celebrating this historic moment.

Humanity had officially entered the era of light speed!!!

Elder Wang was also very happy; now with the light speed engine, the future Azure Dragon Space Battleship would be able to reach light speed.

At that time, an advance team could be formed to head to zhws-1, one light-year away.

A forward operating base would be established there first, and then the planet would gradually be occupied.

Elder Wang turned to Academician Zhang Yuanhang and quietly asked, ”Xiao Zhang, when can the light speed engine be installed on the Azure Dragon Space Battleship?”

The Top Leader also looked over, hearing the question. Now that the energy storage stone had proven to have so many functions, The Top Leader couldn’t wait to fly the Azure Dragon Space Battleship directly to zhws-1’s doorstep.

”Huh?” Academician Zhang Yuanhang looked at The Top Leader and Elder Wang. He hadn’t expected them to be so anxious. ”Chief, Elder Wang, we still need to wait a bit. The light speed engine is still in the verification period.”

”Many problems have yet to be discovered. If we rashly install it on the Azure Dragon Space Battleship now, any future issues could be very serious.”

”Moreover, the hibernation pod technology is still in the experimental stage. Currently, it will take some time for us humans to achieve light speed flight.”

Academician Zhang Yuanhang stated.

Hearing Academician Zhang Yuanhang’s explanation, The Top Leader and Elder Wang had a hint of disappointment in their eyes. The longer it took to occupy zhws-1, the longer they would have to wait to sleep soundly!!!

”Chief, Elder Wang, why are you so anxious to get the light speed engine on the Azure Dragon Space Battleship?”

Academician Zhang Yuanhang was puzzled. The current Azure Dragon Space Battleship’s speed wasn’t slow; it was one-tenth the speed of light.

That should be enough!!!

”Xiao Zhang, it’s like this: didn’t the Astronomical Bureau discover an alien civilization before?”

”We found a great abundance of energy storage stones on that alien civilization’s planet, so we thought of sending a fleet to zhws-1 as soon as possible.”

The Top Leader explained the reason to Academician Zhang Yuanhang.

Now Academician Zhang Yuanhang understood why The Top Leader and others were so anxious; it turned out they had discovered an energy storage stone mine.

”In that case, Chief, Elder Wang, I will complete the technical issues of the light speed engine as quickly as possible.”

”I hope to finish within three or four months.”

Academician Zhang Yuanhang said.

”Xiao Zhang, you must prioritize your health. We can go later, but your health cannot fail.”

The Top Leader immediately waved his hand. Although zhws-1 was very important, it was insignificant compared to Academician Zhang Yuanhang.

”That’s right, Xiao Zhang, everything must prioritize your health!”

”We can take our time with the light speed engine.”

Elder Wang also quickly spoke, persuading Academician Zhang Yuanhang.

The other Capital leaders joined in.

”Academician Zhang Yuanhang, you must prioritize your health!”

”Yes, we can go to zhws-1 a few years later, but your health cannot fail.”

”That’s right, Academician Zhang Yuanhang.”

...Everyone tried to dissuade him.

Academician Zhang Yuanhang was deeply moved as he saw Everyone genuinely caring about him.

”Don’t worry, Everyone, I will pay attention to my health.”

Academician Zhang Yuanhang nodded and said.

The Top Leader still looked at Academician Zhang Yuanhang with concern. Although Academician Zhang Yuanhang said he would pay attention to his health.

However, based on The Top Leader’s understanding of these scientists, Academician Zhang Yuanhang would definitely work day and night on research once they left.

Worried about Academician Zhang Yuanhang’s health failing, The Top Leader decided to set his office directly in Shancheng.

He would personally stay to watch over Academician Zhang Yuanhang.

”Secretary, go inform the Comrade in the Capital to transport all my belongings here.”

”I will be working in Shancheng from now on.”

The Top Leader said to his secretary.

”Yes, Chief.”

The secretary immediately contacted his colleagues in the Capital, asking them to transport The Top Leader’s belongings as soon as possible.

”Xiao Zhang, we won’t disturb you anymore. Please continue with your work!”

The Top Leader still had government affairs to handle, so he couldn’t stay here indefinitely. So he smiled and waved goodbye to Academician Zhang Yuanhang.

Elder Wang and others also nodded to Academician Zhang Yuanhang, then followed The Top Leader and left.

”Okay, okay.” Academician Zhang Yuanhang said.

After Everyone left, Academician Zhang Yuanhang returned to his office.

The Aerospace Fighter equipped with the light speed engine would still take two or three days to fly to Wu Jiang and his team.

During this time, he had nothing to do.

Academician Zhang Yuanhang planned to invent something small, partly to pass the time and partly to boost the nation’s technology.

Sitting in his office, Academician Zhang Yuanhang observed an energy storage stone.

”I wonder if this energy storage stone can be used to develop a new generation of combat suits.”

As soon as the words fell, an idea emerged in Academician Zhang Yuanhang’s mind.

Use the energy storage stone to create a combat suit, and then install a miniature Plasma Shield device on the combat suit!!!

Then, use advanced materials to create a device capable of absorbing the immense energy from bullets and bombs, converting all their energy into electrical energy to be stored in the energy storage stone.

This would not only minimize their lethality, maximizing the safety of soldiers, but also replenish the energy storage stone.

Academician Zhang Yuanhang got straight to work, taking out paper and pen to begin designing the combat suit.

Qian Guo, who was still testing the High-Energy Particle Rifle, never expected that Academician Zhang Yuanhang was already developing a combat suit that would be very beneficial to the Army.

While Academician Zhang Yuanhang was busy drawing blueprints.

Rong City had already completed the construction of the Moon Space Elevator.

Through the Space Elevator in Rong City, all these parts were quickly packaged and sent into Space.

At this time, with the help of the Sentinel Mecha, they had already begun constructing the Moon Space Elevator on the Moon.

Academicians Zhao and Sun, having finished their work, finally returned to Shancheng Military Base from Rong City.

As soon as they returned, they learned that Academician Zhang Yuanhang was again drawing some blueprints in his office.

The two exchanged glances.

”No, we must go and persuade Xiao Zhang.”

”He can’t work like this; he needs to rest!”

Academician Zhao thought carefully; he seemed to rarely see Academician Zhang Yuanhang resting, which was not good.

So, Academicians Zhao and Sun rushed to Academician Zhang Yuanhang’s office.

Just as they were about to speak, they saw the combat suit Academician Zhang Yuanhang was drawing, and both instantly froze.

Academician Zhang Yuanhang, who was about to get up for a drink of water, looked up and saw Academicians Zhao and Sun staring motionless at his blueprint.

”Academician Zhao, Academician Sun, are you two alright?”

Academician Zhang Yuanhang asked softly.

”We’re fine, we’re fine, we’re fine.”

Academicians Zhao and Sun said in unison.

”Xiao Zhang, you should also rest more! You just researched the light speed engine; you can’t research day and night like this!”

”Yes, Xiao Zhang, when it’s time to rest, we still need to rest!”

Academicians Zhao and Sun took turns persuading Academician Zhang Yuanhang.

”It’s alright, Academician Zhao, Academician Sun. I’m just making some small inventions during my rest time.”

Academician Zhang Yuanhang smiled.

Immediately, Academicians Zhao and Sun didn’t know how to respond to Academician Zhang Yuanhang’s humble-bragging remarks.

If this combat suit was considered a ’small invention,’ then the major national projects they had participated in must have been a pile of dog dung.
