Immortality begin with Alchemy Grandmaster

Chapter 2674: Chapter 986: The Fallen Buddha, Earthly Buddha Country (Part 2)

If aided by this treasure, Mahakala, who has already achieved the Arhat Realm, would become without any taboos, acting freely without hindrance.

If he truly brought disaster to the human world, aside from a peak expert like Qi Xia Emperor who shouldn’t belong to the Mountain Sea Realm, who else could stop him?

Youli Divine Monarch, perhaps?

He does have that power, but is restrained by the Fifth-tier Fortune Gu, suppressed by the Primordial Energy Ocean, unable to leave the small area of Cloud Sea Peak.

”Shortly after I left the Hanging Temple, the monks inside were influenced by Brother Jia Luo, and their temperaments gradually changed, becoming more extreme. It even said that this extremity affected many Buddhists in the Western Desert Buddha Land.”

Luo Chen suddenly understood, ”No wonder the hosts at Wutai Mountain I met earlier, although possessing notable realms, were quick to fight without a trace of the compassion one expects from a monk. Were they also influenced by this?”

”Wutai Mountain isn’t far from the Hanging Temple, and at one point was tasked with guarding the Cui Lan Screen. They are likely already lost within it.” Master Xuan Du spoke with a compassionate tone, filled with regret. ”The rumored act of capturing Friend Qingshuang as a Guardian Spirit Beast was merely an imitation born out of extreme admiration for Mahakala.”

Eight hundred years ago, Mahakala captured the Golden Winged Roc, adding a Guardian Spirit Venerable to the Hanging Temple.

Eight hundred years later, the monks of Wutai Mountain attempted to imitate him, but they encountered not the Golden Winged Roc, but Qingshuang, and with Luo Chen accompanying Qingshuang!

Defeat was to be expected.

Luo Chen suddenly remarked, ”Master, surely you don’t intend for us to deal with Mahakala?”

Master Xuan Du smiled slightly, ”The Alchemy Sect seems eager to give it a try!”

Luo Chen replied helplessly, ”Where did you hear that I have any desire to try!”

Master Xuan Du laughed, ”Having such a thought, isn’t that already eagerness?”

Luo Chen went silent, while Qingshuang curiously glanced at him.

Indeed, ordinary people wouldn’t even think in this direction.

Even Qingshuang, who once faced off twice against Divine Transformation Great Powers, never considered how to deal with such beings.

Master Xuan Du shook his head, ”Both of you are outstanding cultivators, rare in the world. But existence like an Arhat, comparable to Divine Transformation, is beyond your opposition, especially with many hidden dangers and significant flaws on you. Even allies might become burdens. I invited you two here to ask for your help to defend the Glazed Pure Land, nothing more.”

”Defend the Glazed Pure Land?” Luo Chen was puzzled.

Qingshuang suddenly said, ”Since we arrived, the entrance to the Glazed Pure Land has never been closed.”

Luo Chen was stunned, was that particularly necessary to mention?

The open entrance was a gesture of sincerity from the other side, allowing them to leave at any time.

But soon, he realized something was off.

Qi Power infused his eyes, and Origin Force surged into the sockets.

With brilliant golden light, the Red Eyes Golden Pupils reappeared suddenly!

In his vision, faint spiritual mechanisms barely made their way from the outer world into the Glazed Pure Land, converging towards the white-robed monk in front.

”You are gathering spiritual mechanisms!” Luo Chen exclaimed.

”This pair of eyes, the benefactor has truly cultivated it well!” Master Xuan Du praised Luo Chen’s Spirit Vision once more, and then candidly admitted his current actions, ”Yes, I am preparing to break through to the Arhat Realm.”

Luo Chen shook his head, ”Master, why such haste? Such a breakthrough cannot be achieved overnight. What if Mahakala interferes? Furthermore, we two haven’t agreed to help you yet.”

”It’s too late.” Master Xuan Du said, a hint of dread in his eyes, ”The last time Mahakala attacked from afar and defeated the Red Sand Ancient Scorpion, I already noticed he had embarked on an extremity. Now, with the Hanging Temple’s gates wide open, it signifies he’s prepared to transform the entire Mountain Sea Realm into the Earthly Buddha Country. I must stop him!”

Luo Chen was puzzled, ”Isn’t it a good thing for everyone to be in one Buddhist nation, especially for the Buddhist sect’s cultivators?”

Master Xuan Du spoke calmly, ”If everyone tends towards goodness, comprehending Buddhist Law, what difference does it make to have a nation or not? On the contrary, if one uses the pretext of disseminating Buddhist Law to justify acts of killing and conquest, it’s nothing but indulging in delusion, adding to the sins of killing.”

”Master sees through it all indeed.”

Luo Chen complimented with just one sentence.

Although what the other said was frightening, concerning the fate of the world and the earthly Buddha nation, he didn’t feel deeply touched.

From the beginning, Luo Chen has been a selfish person.

Even though his cultivation journey changed him a lot, bringing many responsibilities and duties, his main concerns remained his friends, family, and his own cultivation.

His Life Soul is still in the hands of the Daoist Sect, where would he find the leisure to lament for the world?

Qingshuang reacted similarly!

She cared about her elder sister, Qi Xia Emperor and Cangwu Mountain.

As long as Mahakala didn’t provoke Cangwu Mountain, why care about floods drowning the world?

Master Xuan Du seemed to find Luo Chen’s and Qingshuang’s reactions unsurprising, and he didn’t insist since, from the beginning, he proposed cooperation.

Facing their indifference, Master Xuan Du explained calmly, ”If the two of you aid me, not only will the teleportation formation be returned to you, but I can also help resolve the hidden dangers on you both.”

Upon these words, Luo Chen and Qingshuang instantly adopted a solemn attitude.

After all, Master Xuan Du had mentioned before that they had hidden dangers.

Luo Chen was fine, as he knew his cultivation drew from a multitude of sources, unavoidably absorbing some flaws, so hidden dangers were normal. But Qingshuang was somewhat puzzled.

”Xuan Du, what hidden danger do I have?” Qingshuang directly asked, straight to the point, with no beating around the bush.

Master Xuan Du answered calmly, ”Your hidden danger is quite similar to that of my brother Jia Luo before, essentially due to a short cultivation time, leading to a flawed mental state and a tendency toward extremity.”

Qingshuang frowned, ”Demons have extreme natures, great joy, and great anger being common. How is that a hidden danger?”

Master Xuan Du countered, ”Then why do you use a spiritual treasure to protect your Divine Soul?”

Qingshuang was stunned.

She hadn’t expected her counterpart to discern this, unsure of whether it was due to her own strength or the mystery of the Glazed Pure Land.

Master Xuan Du gently explained, ”I don’t know how you, Friend Qingshuang, gained such immense power at this age. But considering the lifespan of a Divine Beast Cyan Simurgh, you’re technically not yet an adult, obsessively seeking Law’s True Intent and insights into The Great Dao Path. Can you truly withstand the backlash in the future? Or have you, influenced by someone else, forsaken the future for the present?”

”Silence!”

A stern shout suddenly erupted.

Qingshuang’s face turned icy as she rebuked the white-robed monk.

”I won’t allow you to slander my sister!”

Upon this sudden outburst, Luo Chen was somewhat caught off guard.

But quickly, he discerned the underlying message in Master Xuan Du’s words.

Indeed, Qingshuang’s immense power was peculiar.

It is said that the Demon Clan’s lifespan far exceeds that of the Human Clan, with longevity entailing slow cultivation.

Qingshuang’s true form is the Divine Beast Cyan Simurgh, whose reputed natural lifespan runs into thousands of years.

By normal standards, Qingshuang wasn’t even technically an adult yet.

Yet, she had already comprehended the True Meaning of Space Law, standing out among her peers.

Beneath such proud achievements lay the fact that her Divine Soul was extremely weak.

In other words, seemingly omnipotent, Qingshuang had a substantial weakness!

However, that weakness was temporarily concealed by the Divine Soul Defense Spiritual Treasure, the Nether Soul Pearl, given by Refining Heaven Demon Monarch.

”So, was it Qi Xia Emperor’s intention to accelerate her growth in this way?” Luo Chen pondered silently.

Master Xuan Du remained composed despite Qingshuang’s rebuke, simply stating, ”Whether it’s slander depends on one’s own heart. I merely wish to say I have a method to assist you in strengthening this weakness, at least matching your current realm.”

This time, Qingshuang remained silent.

Such silence indicated hesitation, and hesitation implied interest.

Master Xuan Du ceased his persuasion, shifting his gaze to Luo Chen.

Luo Chen chuckled, ”Master, do I also have hidden dangers?”

Master Xuan Du’s gaze toward Luo Chen was somewhat complex.

He first nodded, then shook his head.

”There are hidden dangers, but none that are significant. I don’t even know how you managed to attain such capability at this age.”

Luo Chen understood, ”Since the dangers are not significant, it seems difficult for you to offer a compelling proposition to sway me, Master!”

Master Xuan Du smiled slightly, ”I urge you to give it a try!”
