A 10,000-fold Increase System, Picking Up Garbage and Becoming a Technology Giant

10: Chapter 10 Black Jade Broken-Healing Ointment Cures Wang Defu’s Back Injury! The renovation of the scrap yard was in full swing. With the [Labor-Saving Self-Propelled Transport Cart] and the [Primary Automatic Sorting Assembly Line], Wang Defu’s work efficiency had greatly improved. His face was filled with smiles all day long, and he was more motivated than ever.

However, old problems accumulated from years of heavy physical labor caused Wang Defu’s old waist to often ache faintly.

This afternoon, Wang Defu was bending over, trying to lift a heavy discarded metal machine tool base onto the transporter. He held his breath and suddenly exerted force from his waist. The item was lifted, but he didn’t notice his footing, stepped on a steel pipe, slipped, and heard a ”crack.”

A slight abnormal sound came from his waist.

”Ugh—!” Wang Defu let out a muffled groan of pain, his face instantly turning pale, and large beads of cold sweat poured down his forehead. He slumped down, frozen in place, unable to move, his hand clutching his waist trembling violently. This sudden sharp pain was more intense than any of his previous waist injury flare-ups, as if a red-hot iron nail had been driven directly into the gaps of his lumbar vertebrae.

”Uncle Wang!” Chen Fan was nearby organizing some electronic waste. Hearing the sound, he rushed over in a stride and caught the swaying Wang Defu in time. ”How are you?”

”Old... old problem...” Wang Defu’s lips were trembling with pain, his voice intermittent, ”This time... seems... especially bad... rest a bit... rest a bit and I’ll be fine...” He tried to force himself to stand straight, but the piercing pain made it almost impossible to breathe, and a sour, numb, and weak sensation spread through his entire lower body.

Chen Fan looked at his painfully distorted face and instantly bloodless lips, and his heart sank. This was definitely not a minor problem that would be fine after ”resting a bit”! Uncle Wang was getting old; if an acute waist injury like this wasn’t handled properly, the consequences would be severe!

Chen Fan was very anxious. He took out the future smart brain and had it scan Wang Defu’s waist.

[Scan complete. Target: Acute L4-L5 disc herniation, compressing nerve roots, accompanied by severe local muscle tearing and spasms. Immediate supine position recommended, along with professional medical intervention. Warning: Current pain level is 8.7 (extremely high), risk of shock exists.]

The situation was critical! Send him to the hospital? There wasn’t enough time, and the bumpy journey might worsen the injury. Chen Fan first quickly helped Wang Defu onto the bed.

Chen Fan’s gaze was like the most precise radar, instantly scanning the cluttered ground. Among a pile of discarded medicine packaging and junk, he locked onto a flattened, dirty little white ointment bag, which seemed to have a bit of dried, blackened paste remaining inside. It looked like a cheap kind of medicated plaster for bruises and injuries.

This is it!

Chen Fan grabbed the discarded ointment bag and gripped it tightly in his palm. At this moment, he had no distracting thoughts, only a clear and intense intention: the effects of ”repairing damage,” ”relieving pain and reducing inflammation,” and ”reconnecting muscles and bones”! I want it to take effect immediately, curing the pain instantly!

[Item detected: Used cheap medicated plaster. Perform random speed Amplification?]

”Confirm!” he blurted out urgently.

[Ding! Extremely strong intention detected! Breaking through conventional Amplification templates, redefining repair priority, triggering 10,000x functional Amplification! Obtained ”black jade bone-mending ointment”!]

”Extremely strong intention? This is the first time the system has given such a prompt! Could it be that intention can change the attributes of the system’s Amplification?” Chen Fan’s mind raced; he realized he had discovered another rule of the system.

Just then, a wave of energy far exceeding any previous Amplification—one that almost made Chen Fan’s palm go numb—flashed and vanished. He felt the shriveled medicine bag in his hand suddenly become heavy and warm to the touch. A rich and strange medicinal fragrance, mixed with an indescribable aura of vitality, instantly spread out.

Without hesitation, Chen Fan tore open the medicine bag. Inside was a plaster as lustrous as black jade, emitting a hazy glow.

”Uncle Wang, bear with it!” Chen Fan lifted the clothes on Wang Defu’s lower back and precisely pressed the ”black jade bone-mending ointment” onto the center of the most intense pain.

”Mmh...” When Wang Defu saw Chen Fan pick up that tattered medicine bag, his heart was full of confusion, thinking Chen Fan had lost his head in the panic—what use could a used plaster have?

But when the plaster touched his skin, all his distracting thoughts were washed away by an indescribable, majestic, and vast warm current!

It wasn’t ordinary warmth, but more like a spring of life, a gentle yet unstoppable torrent of energy that instantly surged into his body from where the plaster was applied.

It seemed to clear blocked meridians, soothe torn muscles, and even... he seemed to ”hear” those misaligned bones being gently and firmly reset and nourished by an invisible force!

The suffocating waves of sharp pain that had been crashing against his nerves like a tide receded rapidly within two or three seconds before this warm current, like ice and snow meeting a scorching sun!

Replacing it was an indescribable, bone-deep comfort and ease, as if a heavy burden carried for years had been lifted!

His originally stiff body relaxed involuntarily. He tried, very slowly... to straighten his back.

It didn’t hurt anymore! It really didn’t hurt anymore!!

Not only did it not hurt, but he even felt his old waist was more relaxed and powerful than ever before!!

Wang Defu cautiously moved his waist in disbelief and gave it a twist—the movement was smooth, without the slightest bit of stiffness or pain!

He turned around abruptly, grabbed Chen Fan’s shoulders with both hands, looked down at his waist that had been hurting so much he wanted to die just a moment ago, and then looked up at Chen Fan, who had a concerned face.

”I’m... I’m better? All better?!” His voice had an excited sob, and he could no longer control his tears. ”Xiao Fan, thanks to you today, otherwise my old life would have ended here.”

As he spoke, his emotions completely spiraled out of control. His legs went weak, and he was about to kneel down to Chen Fan.

Chen Fan had anticipated this and firmly held him up: ”Uncle Wang! You’re cutting my life short! Let’s not talk about this between us!”

”No! Let me speak!” Wang Defu was incoherently excited, tears streaming down his face. ”I already thought you were a capable person, an extraordinary person!

But now I know, you have great abilities! I, Old Wang, have nothing to repay you with. From today on, I’m following you!”

Chen Fan looked at the mixture of tears, gratitude, and sincerity in Wang Defu’s eyes. He knew that from this moment on, he had gained not just an assistant, but a family member he could trust with his life.

He steadied Wang Defu, his gaze sweeping over the now-different scrap yard, his voice steady and powerful: ”Uncle Wang, our world has only just begun. The good days are still ahead.”

Wang Defu nodded, wiped away his tears, and said to Chen Fan, ”Xiao Fan, I’ll go out and buy some side dishes. I’m happy today; let’s have a drink, just the two of us.”

That evening, Wang Defu and Chen Fan were on the first floor, eating braised beef and drinking Erguotou. After a few rounds of drinks, both of them were a bit tipsy.

”Xiao Fan, to tell you the truth, I haven’t been this happy in a long time. Ever since my son left, I’ve been all alone. Spending time with you gives me an inexplicable sense of closeness,” Wang Defu said from the heart.

Chen Fan patted Wang Defu’s shoulder: ”Uncle Wang, from now on, you are my own uncle.”

”Then I’ll take you up on that.” Hearing Chen Fan say this, Wang Defu was very happy.

”Xiao Fan, there’s one more thing you have to tell me honestly. Do you really have superpowers?” Wang Defu leaned closer to Chen Fan and asked in a low voice. He indeed had many doubts about everything Chen Fan had done to renovate the tools these past few days and the matter with the plaster today.

”Hahaha, Uncle Wang, you’re right. I really do have superpowers.” Chen Fan smiled and played along perfunctorily.

”Anyway, if you follow me in the future, I’ll definitely make sure you live the good life.”

Wang Defu didn’t ask further. He knew Chen Fan was a good and reliable person, and that was enough.
