Comprehension Ability: Creating and teaching the Dao in various worlds

Chapter 407: Chapter 17: Heart Demon Tribulation (Please Subscribe)

The Mental Will Index has reached over 11,000 points.

Overcoming the Heart Demon Tribulation can be said to be without much difficulty.

However, just to be safe and to prevent extreme scenarios from occurring,

Lin Yuan still plans to face the Heart Demon Tribulation in the world-traversal.

Over the two million plus years of Starry Sea Era, the great evolutionary scholars of human civilization have conducted detailed research on the Heart Demon Tribulation.

Some scholars believe that the ‘Heart Demon’ faced during the breakthrough to the Eighth Layer comes from the outside world and is the aggregation of the negative emotions of the countless living beings.

...
There are also scholars who believe that the so-called ‘Heart Demon’ comes from the obsessions of the evolver themselves.

As for which one it actually is, there is still no consensus to this day.

Lin Yuan chose to face the Heart Demon in the transversal world with the first situation in mind.

The Heart Demon comes from outside.

If it really is like that, and Lin Yuan senses something amiss and feels that he cannot overcome the Heart Demon Tribulation,

he can totally rely on the Door to the Myriad Realms to escape back to the Main World.

Even if the Heart Demon is strong, it’s not possible for it to cross into another dimensional plane to pursue him to the Main World.

Of course, with Lin Yuan’s current Mental Will Index of over 11,000 points,

he doesn’t believe that this possibility will occur, but one must always leave room for contingencies.

“Start.”

Lin Yuan’s consciousness sunk into the depths of his mind.

He looked towards that majestic and grand Door to the Myriad Realms.

“The World-Breaking Origin Force accumulated has now reached seven strands…”

Lin Yuan checked the amount of World-Breaking Origin Force he had. With the Yin God’s continuous assistance at the Eternal Spatial Rift in the Different Species’ Battlefields, it only took 290 days to accumulate one strand of World-Breaking Origin Force.

“Spending one strand of World-Breaking Origin Force for peace of mind is not a loss.”

Lin Yuan thought to himself. For this traversal, Lin Yuan’s main target was to overcome the Heart Demon Tribulation.

As for continuing his cultivation, comprehending rules, perfecting the Martial Path Evolutionary Path? All of those could wait.

“Traversal.”

Lin Yuan directly consumed one strand of World-Breaking Origin Force, his will surging into the Door to the Myriad Realms.

…

“This old man, all added up, doesn’t have much meat on him.”

“Having some is better than none, at least we can stew some soup.”

“Sigh, it has come to this, but the girl I saw today, she sure looked refreshing and delightful…”

“Refreshing? What does that matter? In these times, even the most delightful charm isn’t worth a pound of grain.”

Lin Yuan faintly heard some voices. Although he couldn’t understand the language, instinctively, he could comprehend it.

His consciousness had just awakened not long ago, and he hadn’t fully acclimated yet, so he could only quietly listen to the conversation outside.

After more than a dozen breaths.

Lin Yuan’s consciousness finally stabilized.

“Hmm?”

“The Greater Yan Empire? The end of the dynasty, warlords in chaos? The people in dire straits?”

Lin Yuan quickly absorbed the memories of his original body and understood his circumstances.

The level of this world wasn’t very high, at least from his original body’s memories, even those powerful beings who could fight against hundreds were extremely rare.

The Greater Yan Empire had ruled the world for nearly five hundred years, and by now it was thoroughly decayed; with the uprising of various ‘righteous armies,’ the entire empire was on the brink of collapse.

The reason for such a situation was that the common people simply could not survive: ongoing disasters and the court’s taxes, which grew heavier each year.

It had already reached the point where people were eating each other.

Just like Lin Yuan at this moment, who was treated as meat and even complained about for having too little of it.

“My body now…”

Lin Yuan sensed his body and frowned slightly, first noticing the age – the original body was over sixty years old, with severely declined bodily functions, plus a long time in a state of starvation.

At this moment, even standing up was somewhat difficult.

After contemplating for a while, he remembered from his memories that the original body was a small property owner. However, as chaos reigned and warlords attacked, the original body had been forced to flee with household servants.

But shortly after escaping, they encountered a band of refugees; all valuables were robbed, and he barely managed to escape, only to end up here soon after.

Lin Yuan rested for a moment and, leveraging his powerful Spirit Will, managed to stimulate his blood flow and recover somewhat.

“This plane of existence?”

Lin Yuan looked around. From the moment his consciousness woke to now, he hadn’t felt a single trace of nature’s spiritual energy or Primordial Qi.

“The Age of Dharma Decline?”

Lin Yuan surmised in his heart.

Meanwhile.

[Name: Chen (Lin Yuan)]

[Identity: Holder of the Myriad Realms Gate]

[Bound Talent: Heaven-Defying Comprehension]

[Divine Power: Blood Resurrection]

[Current State: Consciousness Descent]

[Remaining Residence Time: Thirty Years]

…

“Only thirty years of residence time?”

“So, the world of my residence depends on the level of the world, not on my own realm?”

Lin Yuan appeared thoughtful.

In his previous six traversals, Lin Yuan’s residence time grew longer with each, leading him to believe that the residence time in the transversal world was related to his own realm.

The higher the realm, the longer the residence time.

But now, it seems to depend on the level of the world he has traversed into.

After all, this current world is probably just a Low Martial World or even a Non-Martial World, likely weaker than the world he first traversed into, hence just thirty years of residence time.

“The traversal performed by consuming a strand of World-Breaking Origin Force is completely random. In the previous six times, I was lucky, so each world I traversed into was helpful for my output. But this time, I’m lacking the luck of before,” Lin Yuan silently thought.

However, the level of the world traversed this time did not impact Lin Yuan’s main objective much.

In fact, the weaker the traversed world, the happier Lin Yuan was, because if the analysis of those great evolutionary scholars from human civilization was correct,

the Heart Demons of the Heart Demon Tribulation, emerging from the negative emotions of countless living beings,

then the Heart Demons congealed from the negative emotions of countless beings in the Main World,

would definitely be vastly different from the Heart Demons of this low-level Martial World.
