Get Stronger by Pleasing Pokémon? Who Needs to Be a Trainer!

The Grassy Terrain dissolved into energy, disappearing completely, leaving the battlefield fully exposed to the eyes of every spectator.

Yet at this very moment, the crowd was stunned.

Lucario lay motionless on the ground, clearly unconscious, while Meowscarada mischievously twirled a flower bud between its claws, its pale red eyes glittering with the joy of victory.

To anyone watching, it was almost impossible to comprehend what had just happened. Lucario had been charging forward, bone staff raised for a powerful strike, when suddenly the grass vanished. With a thunderous crash, Lucario lost the ability to fight.

All of this had unfolded in less than ten seconds.

”What just happened?”

”What’s going on?”

The stands fell silent, then erupted with murmurs and whispers as spectators tried to make sense of the scene. Their gaze turned upward to the announcer hovering above the battlefield, Li Bing.

Even Li Bing looked slightly perplexed. ”Lucario lost the ability to fight?”

As a commentator flying above the arena, he had not been able to clearly see what had transpired. He had only tracked Lucario’s movements, and it seemed that Meowscarada had initially noticed no trace of its opponent.

Then, a solution came to mind, one that would help stabilize the narrative for the audience. ”A flash of insight Lucario somehow lost the ability to fight without anyone noticing!”

”Let’s check the replay carefully and see exactly what happened in the Grassy Terrain!”

In matches like this, the audience could never fully witness every subtle action between trainer and Pokémon. Replays, slowed down for clarity, became essential for understanding.

The battle paused, and the replay began. Though the post-battle footage only lasted a few seconds, it played at nearly ten times slower speed.

Lucario moved through the grass, circling Meowscarada, and when it approached the smaller Pokémon, it began to whirl and strike, attempting to maintain the upper hand.

All eyes were glued to the central screen, searching for the precise reason Meowscarada had managed to overcome Lucario.

Frame by frame, they watched.

Then the critical moment became clear.

As the surrounding grass rustled, Meowscarada suddenly pivoted and executed a precise Grass Knot, wrapping around the charging Lucario.

Next, Lin Feng commanded Meowscarada to use Flower Trick.

Yet this seemingly simple maneuver only added to the audience’s confusion.

How had Meowscarada detected Lucario at all?

Lucario had even used Extreme Speed within the grass, aiming to confuse and conceal itself.

”It’s Aura! It’s Aura! Trainer Lin Feng is using his aura!”

A sudden electronic announcement from the microphone reverberated through the arena.

”This is the trainer’s aura power! Everyone can see that on the battlefield, Meowscarada detected Lucario’s position without any warning!”

But all eyes were drawn to Lin Feng, the trainer of Meowscarada. His eyes were closed, guiding his Pokémon entirely through aura.

Li Bing, as a professional commentator, immediately noticed Lin Feng’s calm, closed-eyed focus.

It was as if a single word had woken the crowd from a trance.

After Li Bing spoke, every spectator in the stands turned toward Lin Feng at the edge of the battlefield.

The central screen zoomed in on him. Through the close-up, it was even possible to see Lin Feng’s lips move as Meowscarada pinpointed Lucario’s location.

Though his voice was barely audible, amplified and carefully listened to, the words were clear: ”Watch the left, use Grass Knot!”

”Aura? Are you kidding? Humans can actually have aura power?”

”Lin Feng… has aura too?”

The truth was revealed, and the crowd was stunned.

Aura something once thought exclusive to Pokémon like Lucario was now seen in a human.

Some could not comprehend how a human could possess such power.

Others were completely shaken.

”Aura… is it really aura?”

Even Li Bing, who had seen it all, found himself at a loss. He was too excited, and combined with the impression of Lucario’s aura, he had blurted the words instinctively.

Then he froze. Can a human really possess aura?

Lin Feng, meanwhile, gently patted Meowscarada’s head and murmured, ”Looks like they’re talking about me…”

The debate in the stands grew heated, some questioning whether someone with aura could still be considered fully human. The discussion escalated, and Lin Feng almost felt the urge to stand and defend himself.

He was, after all, still a person.

At that moment, a voice rang from the top of the stands.

”Quiet, calm down.”

The crowd instinctively turned their eyes skyward.

No one even needed to see who spoke just the voice alone revealed it was Feng Yang.

Gradually, the audience quieted.

”Regarding aura, it is not unique to Lucario. The official league will release an educational video about aura power later,” Feng Yang explained.

”For now, Trainer Lin Feng has done nothing wrong. The battle continues.”

With that, the audience settled, and Feng Yang returned to his perch atop his Moltres.

Seeing the champion step in to restore order, Li Bing quickly said, ”Alright, the match resumes. Trainer Xu Liang, release your Pokémon!”

”Phew…”

On the other side, Xu Liang exhaled deeply. He had not expected that an unusual match like this would prompt intervention from the champion.

Yet the battle was still underway. He had to remain composed and focus on his opponent.

With Lucario defeated, Xu Liang had lost the initiative in choosing Pokémon. His remaining two Pokémon were no longer able to battle, while his opponent still had three active Pokémon, including Serperior, towering like a mountain, and one Pokémon yet to be sent out.

Victory seemed all but lost.

But in that realization, he found a spark of exhilaration.

He shouted across at Lin Feng: ”You, over there!”

”Huh?” Lin Feng raised an eyebrow, slightly puzzled.

”Show me your true strength!” Xu Liang’s voice trembled with excitement.

”Ah?!” Lin Feng was momentarily taken aback.

”Yes, I want to see the gap between us!” Xu Liang tossed a Poké Ball, eyes burning with the fire of battle.

Lin Feng’s expression shifted slightly, a trace of thought flashing across his eyes…
