January 12th.

Night had fallen.

Lin Feng lay on his bed. Beside him, the shrunken Alolan Ninetales sprawled comfortably, while Serperior had also reduced in size and rested atop the nightstand.

Eevee and Cinderace each lay in their own small cubbies, only their heads peeking out.

Cinderace was already asleep, its head sticking out as it closed its eyes tightly, letting out faint, gentle snores.

This made the nearby Eevee look at it with mild disdain.

Especially Ajiu, who even wanted to nudge Cinderace awake and get it to go back to sleep properly.

But the moment Lin Feng showed him a photo of himself sleeping, Ajiu immediately blushed and ducked back into his cubby.

His sleeping posture was particularly odd, belly fully exposed and facing upward.

Another Eevee watching this scene couldn’t help but giggle.

After evolving, Floragato had grown in size, and as a humanoid-like Pokémon, it no longer preferred staying in the cubby.

So Lin Feng had bought a large wooden house for it.

It fit perfectly beside the bed.

Fortunately, the new house was spacious enough.

Lin Feng estimated that the house, including the yard, was at least 500 square meters.

Floragato curled up in its nest, watching Lin Feng teasing the Ninetales on the bed, a flicker of anticipation in its eyes.

After a moment’s thought, it stepped out and climbed onto the bed.

”Meow…”

It wanted to snuggle against Lin Feng.

”Floragato, what’s wrong?”

Its size was so large that Lin Feng immediately noticed its movement.

”Meow.”

Floragato lay on the bed, attempting to nuzzle Lin Feng’s hand with its head, but its size made the gesture awkward.

It glanced at Alolan Ninetales, then at Serperior across the bed.

”Floragato.”

”You want to shrink too?”

Lin Feng was slightly surprised.

However, if Floragato didn’t shrink now, it would be far too big to lie comfortably on the bed.

”All right, wait a moment. I’ll get a Wishing Peach Berry Energy Cube for you.”

Without asking any further, Lin Feng patted Floragato’s head and got up, walking to the storage sphere to retrieve an Energy Cube.

It came from the mutated peach tree in the yard, which still bore fruit and could meet the household’s daily needs for Energy Cubes.

”Meow?”

Floragato swallowed the Energy Cube in one bite, curiosity sparking in its eyes.

It realized it could now control the size of its body.

Adjusting carefully, its body began shrinking. It glanced at Lin Feng, and when its perspective returned to the size it had as Sprigatito, it stopped shrinking.

At this size, it instinctively tried walking on all fours. Extending its front limbs felt awkward, a reminder that it had already evolved.

Then, it walked straight to Lin Feng.

Unaware of what was coming, Lin Feng’s eyes brightened at the sight.

Before it even reached him, Lin Feng scooped it up, chuckling foolishly: ”Hehe, little Floragato is adorable too.”

Ever since Floragato had evolved into Meowscarada, Lin Feng had wanted to play with its paws.

But after evolution, it had grown so large that he felt awkward letting it climb up freely.

Now that it had shrunk, the situation was entirely different.

He held Meowscarada’s paw, resting it on himself, and stared intently at the soft, pink pads. Pressing them felt smooth and comforting.

Seeing Lin Feng’s fascination, Meowscarada even retracted its paw slightly, then nestled fully in Lin Feng’s embrace.

It enjoyed the quiet moment.

This was where it wanted to be most.

Ever since it was an egg, it had felt warmth surrounding it.

Upon hatching, the first thing it saw was Lin Feng.

It quickly realized that Lin Feng’s embrace was its safe, warm place.

Even after evolving, that had not changed.

”Meow~”

Meowscarada let out a contented purr, slowly settling down.

Lin Feng played with the small cat’s paw pads and suddenly felt a wave of drowsiness.

But as if remembering something, he picked up his phone from the nightstand and began tapping at the screen.

He suddenly remembered.

He hadn’t yet checked the venue for this year’s Zongheng Championship.

Although he had watched past competitions, his attention had been focused entirely on the battles themselves.

He hadn’t cared where the events took place.

Now, a quick search would suffice.

He soon found out:

”This year’s Zongheng Championship will be held in Jinghua City, the central city of the East China League…”

”Hehe, I heard that two years ago, Leon from the Galar region even filmed a joint beverage commercial with us.”

Lin Feng found this amusing.

He hadn’t expected Leon’s fame in this parallel Pokémon world to reach the East China region.

Jinghua City was quite far from Wutong City.

The competition would take place tomorrow.

Those failing to register on time would be considered withdrawn.

This ensured that the schedule for the following days’ matches could proceed smoothly.

At such a crucial moment, no one was typically late.

After all, everyone was carrying eight badges.

Logically, those living far away should travel early, and those even farther should arrive two or three days in advance.

It was, after all, a grand event.

Someone like Lin Feng, checking the championship venue the day before, was truly rare.

Still, if it were Dragonite, there wouldn’t be any problem.

Lin Feng thought the same.

At worst, he would just need to wake up a little earlier tomorrow.

”All right, time to sleep!”

Calm, he stopped thinking about other things.

Instead, he grabbed Alolan Ninetales, ignoring its protests, and placed it back in its cubby.

It was winter, and if he tried to share the blanket with a Ninetales, it wouldn’t stay warm all night.

He preferred putting Meowscarada, Cinderace, or Eevee under the covers.

But to avoid making Ninetales feel slighted, and to keep things fair, Lin Feng resigned himself to sleeping alone.

After turning off the lights, he thought: when summer comes, he would let all the fluffy Pokémon sleep on the bed…
