Get Stronger by Pleasing Pokémon? Who Needs to Be a Trainer!

Not far away, a staff member responsible for looking after the Pokémon eggs accidentally lost his grip while moving an egg.

In an instant, a wave of sheer panic and suffocating fear surged through him as he watched the egg plummet toward the floor.

But the very next moment, just as the egg was about to hit the ground, a hand shot out and firmly caught it from below.

”Phew... that was close...” Lin Feng let out a sigh of relief, gazing with interest at the egg in his hand.

The entire shell was an icy crystal-blue color, patterned with delicate snowflake-like markings. The instant it touched his skin, it felt cold and frosty to the touch.

This was a sign the Pokémon inside was nearing hatching.

When a Pokémon is about to hatch, it unconsciously releases bursts of its own energy.

For an egg to emit such powerful energy at this stage meant its potential probably wasn’t low at all.

”What’s going on? How could you be so careless?”

Chi Heng stormed over, scolding the staff member. But then he turned to Lin Feng, his expression softening into a smile.

”Thanks a lot, young man. Without you, this Alolan Vulpix might not have made it.”

Inside, however, he was secretly astonished. Just moments earlier, Lin Feng had been standing right beside him, chatting. And then, in the blink of an eye, he was suddenly several meters away, catching an egg in mid-air with perfect precision.

Was this the kind of physical prowess trainers possessed?

”Even Alolan Pokémon are showing up here... that’s impressive,” Lin Feng remarked, gazing down at the Alolan Vulpix in his hands, his fondness for it growing by the second.

Customers in his breeding house often praised the energy cubes, saying they were excellent in both taste and price.

Their only complaint was how hot it got inside the shop.

Stepping in felt like stepping into a steam room.

The only reason it wasn’t unbearable lately was the cooling effect of a few days of rain.

Lin Feng had been planning to install air conditioning in the shop.

But with an Ice-type Alolan Vulpix around, he might not have to spend that money after all.

Not to mention, it was a Red Grade Alolan Vulpix!

He was practically bursting with luck.

Without hesitation, he said, ”Can I choose this egg?”

Chi Heng froze for a moment, then fell into thoughtful silence.

An Alolan Ice Vulpix, in terms of monetary value, was technically less valuable than a starter Pokémon.

But its rarity in the Donghua League gave it a significant premium in price.

When all things were considered, the two were roughly comparable in market value.

And since the young man in front of him was a high-level breeder, gifting such a Pokémon to solidify ties would be an excellent investment.

Within just a few seconds, Chi Heng’s smile widened.

”Of course you can. The Alolan Vulpix might be rare, but in terms of price, it’s still a bit below the usual starter Pokémon.”

”Thanks a lot.”

Lin Feng nodded, his gaze softening as he looked at the egg in his hands.

A fluffy, icy-cold Vulpix... it would be perfect to carry around in the sweltering summer heat.

And when it evolved into an Alolan Ninetales, it could even serve as a snuggly pillow. What could be better than that?

After completing the registration for the egg, Lin Feng didn’t immediately head home. Instead, he used a store gift card to buy some Moomoo Milk. Then he went over to the rare items section and picked up a bottle of pale pink Poké Perfume before hurrying back to the breeding house.

He had no choice.

The Alolan Vulpix was going to hatch in less than an hour.

When he got home, Lin Feng didn’t even have time to greet Qin Shu before he headed straight into the plantation area.

Staring at the Alolan Vulpix egg, which was now faintly glowing, he took out the Moomoo Milk, poured some into a bowl, and began stirring it with chopsticks while drizzling in the perfume.

The pale pink perfume had a powerful enchanting effect. When combined with the Moomoo Milk, it not only enhanced the flavor but also helped newborn Pokémon feel happier and more affectionate toward the first human they saw.

And there was one more crucial detail.

Food made with Lin Feng’s own hands gained an extra culinary effect.

That was the real secret.

**C-rank Moomoo Milk — enhanced with a dash of pale pink Poké Perfume. Although the preparation process was slightly rough, the full richness of the milk’s flavor was drawn out completely.

Culinary Effect — When consumed by a newborn Pokémon, growth speed increases by 25%, and it also induces a mild sedative effect.**

”Snivy?!”

Snivy, catching the delicious aroma of the concoction, flicked out its bright red tongue and licked its lips eagerly.

”You want some too?”

Lin Feng gently poked Snivy’s head, amused.

”This is for babies, you know.”

”Snivy...”

Snivy turned its head away, pretending not to care.

But moments later, it peeked back over, staring curiously at the Pokémon egg in Lin Feng’s hands, clearly excited to meet a new companion.

Lin Feng chuckled.

”Alright, this milk is for Vulpix. But don’t worry, I’ll head over to Huaqiao Village soon and buy a couple of Miltank. That way, we’ll have a steady supply of milk.”

Honestly, the aroma was so tempting even he felt like tasting it.

But the egg he was cradling grew steadily brighter, as if resisting the very idea of him drinking any.

Suddenly, a faint cracking sound rang out.

First, a damp little paw poked out through the shell.

Then, a pair of clear, blue eyes glowed softly in the dim light, peeking out timidly at the world.

The newborn Alolan Vulpix carefully pushed its way out of the shell, and the first thing it saw was Lin Feng’s gentle, smiling face.

Accompanying that was a soothing, friendly aura radiating from him, a presence that few newborn Pokémon could ever resist.

Tentatively, the Vulpix reached out a paw as if wanting to touch him, but it hesitated, seemingly shy.

Then Lin Feng dipped his fingertip into the Moomoo Milk and wiggled it in front of the hatchling.

And just like that, everything changed.

With a sudden burst of energy, Vulpix pushed the eggshell apart, leaping into Lin Feng’s arms.

It latched onto his finger with its tiny mouth, sucking eagerly as its eyes closed in pure bliss.

”Hey, hey... there’s plenty more where that came from...”

Laughing helplessly, Lin Feng picked up the bowl of Moomoo Milk and held it in front of the newborn Vulpix.

The little fox, still drenched from its hatching, was ravenous. Without caring about being wet, it immediately dove in, lapping up the milk in big gulps, its entire face practically disappearing into the bowl.

Its Joy and Friendship values shot up wildly in that moment.

Congratulations, Host, for raising Vulpix’s Joy from 50% to 88%. Reward incoming...
