I Have the Alchemy Emperor in My Head

Chapter 296: Ambushing and Killing Prisoners

After the sun rose, Chu Yunfan and Tang Siyu were finally free from the battle. Even though their physical strength far exceeded that of ordinary people, they still felt exhausted.

“How many did you two kill during the night?” Gao Hongzhi looked at the two of them. Although the blood on their armor had flowed off them, they were both obviously very tired.

“A lot. Go outside and bring in the monster carcasses. We can have them as food,” Chu Yunfan said.

The two of them had killed at least a dozen big and small monsters during the night.

Chu Yunfan could not stomach the idea of eating human flesh like those condemned criminals. Although he had a lot of food in the space of the Mountain River Diagram, it was not convenient for him to show it in front of people. Thus the carcasses of these monsters became the most suitable source of food.

After a night of fighting, Chu Yunfan finally understood some of the characteristics of the monsters here. The ones that appeared last night were nocturnal creatures. The environment here was extremely hot during the day and was bitingly cold at night. These monsters had thick fur on their bodies and would be fine if the weather was cold. But during the day when it was too hot, they might die from the heat. It was very likely that they hid in caves during the day to avoid the heat.

“Most of the monsters here will not come out during the day because they’re unable to endure the extreme heat here. However, they’ll come out at night. Therefore, we’ll go out and search for those condemned criminals during the day, kill them, and obtain points,” Chu Yunfan said.

“You’re right. If we stray far from the base at night, it’d be too dangerous,” Ran Jun agreed.

“I’ve thought about it. We came from outside of here and have water in our backpacks, but how many days will that last? I’m afraid it won’t be enough for even three days. Those criminals certainly won’t have enough water. These bases are not far from water sources. If we search at the water sources nearby, we’ll certainly find criminals going there to get water. We can then kill them and get some water for ourselves at the same time,” Chu Yunfan said, “What do you guys think?”

“That’s a good idea. We can get there ahead of time and then catch them off guard. But you two have been on duty all night. Will you be able to handle it?” Gao Hongzhi asked.

“No problem. After meditating for a while, we’ll recover,” Chu Yunfan said.

“Okay, you two take a rest first. We’ll go ask around and see if we can find any information about the water sources here,” Gao Hongzhi said.

The map that Federation University had given them was rough. It only listed down some bases and other places of interest.

After Chu Yunfan and Tang Siyu had rested and meditated for about a little over half an hour, Gao Hongzhi returned. The other teams had also thought of this idea and found some records about water sources left behind by the criminals. They each picked a place and set off.

Chu Yunfan and the others headed in the direction of one of the water sources. This place was under a humongous cactus. This cactus was more than 300 feet tall, and this water source was in the shadow of this cactus.

“D*mn, what a tall cactus!” Gao Hongzhi exclaimed in surprise.

But before anyone realized it, more than twenty criminals appeared from the other side of the cactus and surrounded them.

“Just as we expected. Keke! We were sure to find students here who’ve come to get water. We can just kill them all in this way!” a condemned criminal said as he laughed strangely.

They had obviously had the same idea as Chu Yunfan and the others. The students wanted to ambush the criminals here, but these criminals were no fools. They ambushed these students here to get supplies. They were obviously not idiots. However, the rest would depend on whose method was more brilliant.

“Just as we expected too,” Chu Yunfan said indifferently. He had long thought of this. Both sides were fighting to the death. These criminals wouldn’t just let the matter go. They would definitely have to go through a bloody battle.

To him, these criminals were just a group of human figures for them to earn points. They had just delivered themselves to his doorstep to be killed.

“Everyone, get ready. Let’s start a massacre!” Chu Yunfan shouted and charged at these criminals.

Immediately, a great battle broke out.

These criminals could tell that Chu Yunfan was the leader of these groups of students. Naturally, they wanted to kill the leader first. Half a dozen criminals instantly pounced on him, clearly treating him as an important person.

Chu Yunfan was not afraid. In his eyes, these ordinary people were nothing. He charged into the midst of these criminals.

“Kill!”

Several weapons shot out at Chu Yunfan, instantly surrounding him and sealing off all of his escape routes. Then, the criminals saw a shocking scene. He had broken free from the encirclement of their weapons. Although they surrounded him tightly, he was able to break free.

Chu Yunfan had instantly escaped from their encirclement. Then, with a loud roar, slashed at one of the criminals. The criminal had no time to dodge.

Then, Chu Yunfan charged the other criminals at an extremely shocking speed.

Slash!

Slash!

Slash!

These powerful criminals were all killed by Chu Yunfan in just mere seconds. Although these criminals were strong, they were at the third and fourth levels of the Energy Refinement Stage. If Tang Siyu and the others were to face them, they would have been able to put up quite a fight. But they were facing Chu Yunfan. Before Chu Yunfan, their strength was not enough.

Against the Heaven’s Thunder Saber Technique, without the protection of armor, these criminals fell one by one.

After dealing with these people as quickly as possible, Chu Yunfan put away his weapon and looked at his teammates. Each of them had to face two or three strong enemies at once.

Ran Jun, Tong Xinran, and Yu Xinyuan were a little flustered facing such strong enemies. Tang Siyu and Gao Hongzhi had already cultivated movement techniques to a certain level after being taught by Chu Yunfan. They were displaying the full might of these techniques. They quickly killed one of their enemies and then took their time in killing the other, stronger one.

Then, they moved on to help Ran Jun and the others.

Unlike before, these criminals were killed in just a short while.
