I Have the Alchemy Emperor in My Head

Chapter 271: Exile Zone 66

Early in the morning, there was already a sea of people at the gates of Donghua No. 1 High School. As the number one high school among all the high schools in Donghua City, it was a sacred place that countless high schoolers yearned to be.

On this day, countless students got up early. Even the students of Donghua No. 1 High were no exception. They rushed here one after another to see the students who had come from all the cities over.

These were the elite students of all the cities, the creme de la creme, the geniuses among geniuses. Only these people had the qualifications and courage to participate in Federation University’s admission assessment.

Even in Calm Ocean City which boasted a population of more than ten million, only a few dozen were qualified to participate in Federation University’s admission assessment. All of them were the elites of the various districts. Within one district, there would usually be three to five people.

When these people gathered together, there were a total of two to three thousand people. And this was only counting the number of candidates in Donghua City. There were many candidates from the whole human race. If all of them were added together, it would be an unimaginable number.

They had truly gathered all of the essences of humanity.

Following the signboard, Chu Yunfan quickly arrived at the student lounge dedicated to the participants of Calm Ocean City. There were about a dozen from Calm Ocean City participating in Federation University’s assessment. They were the top three of the districts.

At a glance, they were all at least at the second level of the Energy Refinement Stage. It was not that there were no other students who had reached the Energy Refinement Stage. It was just that they knew that if they came, they would just be humiliating themselves.

Participating in Federation University’s assessment may result in death. Every year, the casualty rate of students participating in Federation University’s assessment was very high—at least more than ten percent. Ten percent did not seem to be a big deal but considering the huge number of people participating in the assessment, it was a very large number. Therefore, many would not come to participate at all. If they were not strong enough to participate, there was no other possibility other than death.

This time, Yunning District took part in the assessment with a total of six people. In addition to the traditional top three—Tong Xinran, Yu Xinyuan, and Ran Jun—Chu Yunfan, Tang Siyu, and Gao Hongzhi were in the mix.

The top three of the other schools, even the first seat, had not appeared.

For example, the former first seat of No. 13 High, Ou Yang, had stepped into the Energy Refinement Stage. However, he made it clear that he would not participate in Federation University’s assessment. Instead, he applied to Qinghua University which was ranked second only to Federation University among the top ten schools.

With his cultivation, Ou Yang could be considered one of the top students and outstanding people of Qinghua University. However, if he were to participate in Federation University’s assessment, he would be even worse than cannon fodder. A second-level Energy Refinement Stage cultivator who was even stronger than him was merely at the bottom of the assessment, let alone him.

On the other hand, Zhang Teng was even worse than Ou Yang. He had only reached the ninth level of the Qi Sea Stage and barely managed to get into one of the lowest top ten universities. However, to him, it was already the best he could do.

The college entrance exams were grueling. Each and every one of the influential figures of each school was just one of the ordinary people among the elites of mankind.

Other than Liu Yushu who was being friendly toward Chu Yunfan, the other students of Calm Ocean City looked at Chu Yunfan with mixed feelings. Although they had accepted the fact that Chu Yunfan was the number one of Calm Ocean City, there was no doubt that they still felt strange.

This youth who had risen like a comet at lightning speed was above them. If they had not personally experienced it, who would have believed it?

However, Chu Yunfan did not care what they were thinking. He walked to a futon in a corner and sat down with his legs crossed. Beside him were Tang Siyu and Gao Hongzhi.

At this moment, Tong Xinran and the other two walked over and stopped in front of Chu Yunfan.

“Chu Yunfan, we have something to ask you,” Ran Jun said.

Beside him, Yu Xinyuan and Tong Xinran stared at Chu Yunfan.

“What is it?” Chu Yunfan asked.

Previously, the three of them were the only people in Zone 2 who had not gotten in his way, so Chu Yunfan had a good impression of them.

“Have you heard about the first round of the Federation University’s assessment this year?” Yu Xinyuan asked.

“What’s wrong with the first round of assessment? It’s wilderness survival, right?” Chu Yunfan said.

Of course, he had done his homework. Every year, the first round of the assessment was always wilderness survival. There were no exceptions. This was the reason why the Education Bureau of Calm Ocean City had organized a training camp. It was for the students to acquaint themselves with surviving in the wild. And it was not only Federation University. The first round of the independent assessments of the top ten famous universities was often wilderness survival.

This was the tacit understanding between the various universities.

“The problem is that this year is different,” Yu Xinyuan said, “Federation University is located in the Kunlun Realm, so every year, the assessment is held there. In the past, it used to select a few places in the Kunlun Realm for the wilderness survival assessment!”

“Yes,” Chu Yunfan said and nodded.

It was not just Federation University. In fact, the top ten famous universities were all located in the Kunlun Realm. In addition, many focus universities also had campuses in the Kunlun Realm. This made it easy to nurture their students and also made it convenient for them to gather the resources of the Kunlun Realm.

“Did you hear that the Monster Cult conquered Exile Zone 66?” Yu Xinyuan asked.

Chu Yunfan suddenly remembered that Exile Zone 66, which had been on the news for a while, had been conquered. Although it was the Kunlun era, there were still a lot of people who committed evil crimes. Some were executed, while some were exiled to penal colonies with extremely harsh environments to dig up resources for the human race and work until their deaths to atone for their crimes.

Exile Zone 66 was such a place. There were many evil criminals gathered there, but that place had been conquered some time ago. And the ones who had attacked were the Monster Cult. The soldiers stationed there were completely wiped out, and this had shaken the entire human race for a moment. It was seen as the cult’s great provocation toward human society.

There were still many people within society clamoring to teach the cult a painful lesson so that they would not dare to be presumptuous.

“I’ve heard of it, but what does it have to do with us?” Chu Yunfan asked.

“Originally, it didn’t have anything to do with us. But this time, for the Federation University’s assessment, the examinees from the three major satellite cities—Donghua City, Ohua City, and Xihua City—will be assessed there,” Tong Xinran continued.
