I Have the Alchemy Emperor in My Head

Chapter 278: The Malicious Scoring System

Everyone quieted down as they looked at the person in the projection that suddenly appeared.

“Hello, everyone. My name is Zhang Wuji. Some of you may recognize me, but most of you probably don’t know who I am yet,” the old man spoke slowly. His voice was not loud, but it held some sort of magical power, the crowd instantly quieted down and listened to him.

“Zhang Wuji...”

Hearing this name, a buzz started sweeping through the crowd. Many people started to get excited because they all knew—Zhang Wuji was the President of Federation University!

Although many have never seen Federation University’s president, they have heard of his name. This was a legendary name within all of society.

Federation University used to not exist, Zhang Wuji had built it with his own hands. Furthermore, it managed to gain traction and produced countless disciples. Over the past 200 years, it has become the number one university in human society.

In other words, Zhang Wuji was at least 200 years old, and many people knew of his past glory. He had personally participated in most of the major events of human development over the past few hundred years. His disciples were spread throughout society. He possessed influence that even the current president of the federation could not compare to.

Everyone was instantly filled with respect due to his identity and the many legends that his name represented.

“I’m the current president of Federation University,” Zhang Wuji said slowly.

“Seeing so many elites applying for a spot with our university every year fills me with joy,” Zhang Wuji said, “Although you have not passed the assessment, I believe that most of you are qualified to join us. All of you are the hope of humanity’s future, the cream of the crop among the students.

“I’ll stop here for now. I believe that when you join Federation University, we’ll have a long time to get to know each other. I wish all of you the best of luck.”

Zhang Wuji’s speech was not very long, but it excited the students. That was Federation University. If they could get in, their entire lives would be guaranteed.

It had the potential to turn their life around!

After Zhang Wuji’s projection disappeared, the environment of the entire battleship changed. Instantly, the beautiful scenery that was filled with a sense of technology vanished. Instead, they switched to the scenes outside and looked around. There were blue skies and white clouds everywhere.

Just as Zhang Wuji was speaking, the battleship took off. Thanks to the application of the anti-gravity system, even if one’s cultivation level was not weak, those without sharp senses did not sense the battleship taking off.

Then, a middle-aged military officer in uniform appeared in front of everyone.

It was a colonel military officer.

“Hello, students. My name is Feng Yun. I’m the captain of this Meteor Battleship. I’m also the person in charge of transporting everyone to the assessment site,” the middle-aged officer said, “This time’s assessment will take place in Exile Zone 66. Due to some previous incidents, Exile Zone 66 was captured. Now is the time for you to fulfill your duty as the elites of humanity. After you enter, your only mission is to suppress them. Those prisoners have microchips on them. Every time you kill one of them, it’ll be recorded and converted into your points. Don’t underestimate these points, because the final decision of whether you’ll be accepted or not lies with these points.

“This time, the students from Donghua will be going together with those from Ouhua and Nanhua. There are a total of more than 6,000 students from these two base cities participating in this assessment. However, Federation University will only take in 4,000 of you. Therefore, there will be more than 2,000 people who may be eliminated. And the criteria for elimination are these points.”

The students were in an uproar. Although they had more or less heard about the incident in Exile Zone 66, it was undoubtedly a shock for them to accept only 4,000 people. This was different from the competition in school. They were the best in the entire district and the entire city. However, if the competition was extended to the three base cities, the difficulty of the competition would increase by more than a hundredfold.

In particular, most people’s cultivation levels were around the second level of the Energy Refinement Stage. In other words, there was a very high chance that they would be eliminated.

“D*mn, how ruthless. If this continues, who among us would dare not work hard?” Yu Xinyuan said.

The others had obviously thought of this as well. This meant that they had no chance to fish in troubled waters.

However, Chu Yunfan was very calm. This was because he knew from the start that Federation University would not give them any chance to fish in troubled waters. Federation University only recruited the cream of the crop. Ordinary people were not qualified for even a glance from them. Since they had to select the elites among the elites, how could the criteria be simple?

“Now, let me announce the scoring system for killing those criminals. 1 point for killing a dangerous criminal in the first level of the Energy Refinement Stage, 3 points for killing a criminal in the second level of the Energy Refinement Stage, 10 points for a criminal in the third level, 30 points for a criminal in the fourth level, 100 for the fifth level, 300 for the sixth, 1000 for the seventh, 3000 for the eighth, and 10,000 points for killing a criminal in the ninth level of the Energy Refinement Stage. Those who are able to kill a criminal in the Innate Stage will be automatically admitted.”

This scoring system caused an uproar. There was a huge difference in the scores of dangerous criminals at every level. Disregarding the possibility of Innate Stage criminals, it was 10,000 points for those at the ninth level of the Energy Refinement Stage and only 1 point for those at the first level. In other words, killing 10,000 first-level Energy Refinement Stage criminals was comparable to killing one at the ninth level of the Energy Refinement Stage.

It sounded like there was a chance to catch up, but how could there be so many criminals for them to kill?

Moreover, which one of those criminals was not filled with evil deeds and had rich battle experience? In a life-and-death battle, it was very normal for them to kill students whose levels were higher than their own.

Although these students were the elites among the elites, the best among the best, and had plenty of battle experience, there was still a clear gap between them and those criminals.

The scoring system had just been announced, and Chu Yunfan felt that it was filled with malice. They just wanted to do their best to eliminate the weaker portion of these elites.

Just do not be too malicious!
