Forty Millenniums of Cultivation

Li Yao somewhat understood what Red Pole meant, but he was even more confused.

It was true that Teacher Zhang Jiashu was absolutely not the real Li Yao. He was just a muddle-headed ordinary person, but his body was branded with a very distinct characteristic that belonged to “Cultivator Li Yao”. Even if it was only 1% or 0.001% or even 0.001%, Li Yao would absolutely not be mistaken. What exactly was going on?

“Let me tell you everything. Although I don’t know much, it is enough for us to complete our mission.

Red Pole Star said, “First of all, you’ve all learned that there is a ‘Four Universities of Cultivation’ somewhere in the depths of the sea of stars, including Cultivator Li Yao. You might as well consider him to be the ‘real Li Yao’. Is that okay?”

Li Yao and Zhang Daniu nodded at the same time. Then they asked at the same time, “Is it true? Does the four universes of Cultivation and Li Yao of Cultivation really exist?”

“It’s true. Although the details are definitely a little different from the content of the novel , I believe that on the other side of the endless sea of stars, there are indeed the four universes of Cultivators and Li Yao, as well as countless soul-stirring and wonderful stories.”

Red Pole Star continued, “As for Cultivator Li Yao, he is exactly what Master Niu described him to be. He is a great hero who is kindhearted, passionate, and ambitious. He has never hesitated to sacrifice himself for his country and his people. Since childhood, he has been determined to burn himself, protect his civilization, and illuminate the entire universe!

“Well…” Li Yao stammered.

Zhang Daniu: “Uh…”

“Master Niu has written 2,000 chapters of ‘40,000 Years of Cultivation’. I believe you all know a thing or two about the general appearance of the four universes of Cultivation and the magnificent first half of Li Yao’s life. That’s right. He is such a compassionate, fearless man. Time and time again, he dragged his almost over-exhausted life into the most furious rapids and the most perilous swirls. There were several times when he almost perished, weren’t there?”

Li Yao and Zhang Daniu looked at each other and managed to say, “If you say so.”

“Although Master Niu hasn’t written the final ending of Cultivator Li Yao yet, we all believe that his belief has been polished and cannot be changed. Therefore, in the end of the four universes of Cultivation, when he is faced with the imperium, the Holy Alliance, the Pangu Civilization, or even stronger enemies, in order to protect what he must protect, he will certainly throw himself into the face of greater danger and stronger enemies.

“Your assumption is not wrong, is it?”

Li Yao nodded, but he still felt that something was not right. “Yes. But what happened to us? Why did we ‘travel’ to Earth from the four universes of Cultivation?”

“The question is simple.

Red Extremity said, “Just flip through the first few chapters of and you will know. How did the original ‘Earthly Li Yao’ transmigrate to the four cultivation universes and become ‘Cultivator Li Yao’?”

Li Yao’s eyes were wide open. “Are you saying that, after we transmigrated from Earth to the four universes of cultivation and experienced a soul-stirring, twisted, and bizarre life in the four universes of cultivation, we have transmigrated back?”

“Of course, we have to transmigrate back. Otherwise, what will happen to the ‘Vulture Plan’ that we can’t forget? Now that Master Niu has written the relevant chapter, you should all know the truth of the Vulture Plan, right? Yes, to destroy the Earth, or at least to defeat the Earth—this damn reincarnation prison!”

“However, it is not easy to get out of the reincarnation prison. It is even more difficult to sneak into the reincarnation prison from the outside. I believe that, when the Cultivator Li Yao snuck into the reincarnation prison again, he might’ve erased all the life information inside his soul and turned himself into a blank sheet of paper.

“What’s the meaning of this?”

Li Yao frowned. “Why are you doing this?”

“The reason is simple. If we were in the same position and had the same mindset, we would have made the same choice.

“Because we are unwilling to reveal all the information about the ‘Four Universities of Cultivation’, including its coordinates in the endless sea of stars, the situation of the federation, the imperium, and the Sanctuary Alliance, as well as the secret identity that we once escaped from the Reincarnation Prison. Everything must remain hidden from the will of the earth.

“There is a price to pay for transmigration. I believe that the Cultivator who has just transmigrated, Li Yao, is still very weak. He is no match for the will of the earth at all. If he is discovered by the will of the earth at that time, not only will he be unable to complete the Vulture Plan, it is also possible that the will of the earth will track him down and destroy the four universes of Cultivators. Then he will be screwed!

“Moreover, Li Yao might not have been taking the initiative. He must’ve been caught in a very passive situation. For example, when his body was destroyed and his soul was seriously damaged, he was forced to seal all his life information and enter a certain… hibernation state.

The Red Pole Star’s speculation was reasonable and convincing.

But that was not enough to explain the weird incidents that had happened to Li Yao, Zhang Daniu, Master Zhang Jiashu, and the Red Pole Star itself. Li Yao thought for a moment and said, “Alright. I agree that ‘Cultivator Li Yao’ has experienced a ‘second space jump’ and returned to Earth with the power from the boundless sea of stars. He wants to free all his compatriots who have been suppressed in the prison of reincarnation. But he is alone. How can he influence so many of us? Who is the real Li Yao between you and me?”

“Yes and no.

The Red Pole Star smiled. “I believe that, when the Cultivator Li Yao transmigrated to Earth, not only did he erase all the information about his life, his soul also split into thousands of pieces.

“Soul division?”

Li Yao was dazed. “There is such a thing? Why?”

“Isn’t it easy to understand?”

The Red Pole Star opened his hands and said, “Because there is bound to be a solid barrier outside of the Earth, a protective membrane similar to the atmosphere. If a gargantuan meteoroid were to hit the Earth, it would certainly be torn into thousands of pieces by the atmosphere, turning into a gorgeous but harmless meteor shower, wouldn’t it?

“On the other hand, if one wants to sneak into the reincarnation prison without alarming anyone, their soul would certainly be too ‘large’, too dazzling, and too eye-catching. How could they not be discovered by the will of the earth?

“Only by tearing your soul into thousands of pieces actively or passively and infiltrating them quietly and quietly can you bypass the defense line and arrive successfully.

“If you still can’t understand it, you might as well imagine that the Earth—Reincarnation Prison is surrounded by a defense network that looks like a fishing net. Anything larger than the net will trigger alarms and be discovered by the will of the earth. The things smaller than the net are theoretically impossible to cause any harm to the will of the earth.

“Therefore, other than erasing his own life information, Li Yao had to tear his soul into pieces that were smaller than nets so that he could sneak in without alarming anybody.

“This is too…”

Li Yao didn’t know how to describe ‘Cultivator Li Yao’s’ approach. He felt that his head was dizzy and he couldn’t believe what he had just heard.

“Of course, ‘everywhere I go, there will be traces’. The so-called ‘erasing the information of life’ is not necessarily unrecoverable. Even Li Yao himself does not wish to be obliterated just like that!

The Red Pole Star continued. “Every soul fragment that seems to be blank actually contains all the information about ‘Cultivator Li Yao’. Instead of calling them fragments, they are more like sleeping seeds. They seem lifeless, but as long as they are given a suitable environment, they can sprout and radiate the brilliance of life again.

“Of course, from the perspective of the will of the earth, it is not wrong to say that the soul fragments are all goddamn viruses and the most dangerous cancer cells that can infect, swallow, and transform everything. At the very least, we are all infected, aren’t we? Hahahaha!”

“We—”

Li Yao rubbed his temples. In a trance, he felt that a giant tree was rising from the depths of his brain. The trees were bearing fruits, each of which had the smiling face of a cultivator named Li Yao.

Uh, how disgusting!

“Now, do you understand what is going on with us?”

The Red Pole Star opened its arms and said, “About ten reincarnations ago, thousands of seeds or viruses from the deepest part of the universe penetrated into the prison of reincarnation through the dragnet of the will of the earth and planted the souls of thousands of heroes inside.

“Although the power of the seed or the virus was extremely weak, and the information about Li Yao’s life seemed to have been wiped out, there was still something warm-blooded and touching in the deepest part of the seed. It spread out in the souls of the martyrs, trying to awaken their memories of the past and their desire for freedom.

“Most of the seeds or viruses have failed.

“After all, too much time has passed. What is fake has become real, and what is real has become fake. Heroic spirits such as Master Zhang Jiashu have been dwelling in the paradise created by the will of the earth. They have completely forgotten their true appearance thousands of times ago, the glory and dreams that once swept across the universe.

“But in the end, a small portion of the heroic spirits accepted the seed’s gift and the virus’ infection. They understood the paleness and illusion of the world in front of them and embarked on the path of finding their true self.

“They—we have been fighting time and time again in the reincarnation cycle. We are using the battles to further activate the power of the seeds and the virus. We are also looking for like-minded comrades in the resonance of our dreams, including people like Master Zhang Jiashu. We are retrieving seeds and viruses that do not belong to him from the depths of his soul and integrating them into our own brains.

“You can think of it as a jigsaw puzzle. Cultivator Li Yao’s soul fragments are buried deep inside the brains of countless heroic spirits. As long as we can reassemble the fragments, we will be able to let ‘100%’ of Li Yao’s body be reborn, and he will be even stronger than before. He will be so strong that… he will be in the Body Integration Stage!”
