Forty Millenniums of Cultivation

Along with the high-pitched roars, Li Yao seemed to see that, on the bizarre planets, groups of bizarre-shaped creatures were tearing off their disguises of shame and humor. War machines made of crystals and metals were emerging from the deep sea, from the valleys, and from the chaotic stone belts.

The horns of war were blown. People were praying to their ancestors and the gods in the languages that had been passed on on Earth ten thousand years ago, hoping that they could bring victory to the war. No. Prayers to the gods were unnecessary, because they were waging a war against the gods.

The Primeval Clan—human beings—would represent the blue planet that had been destroyed twenty thousand years ago and declare war on all the species as strong as deities in the universe.

“The vast sea of stars is the journey of our race. There will be no gods or devils after us!”

No species or civilization was a match for the Primeval Lord of Heaven.

Even if the Void Hunters could destroy ten warships of the Primeval Lord of Heaven in their fury, even if the rolling of the giant crab could tear apart the crust of the planet and swallow dozens of infantry legions, the military bases and hatching centers that the Primeval Lord of Heaven had secretly established in the sea of stars would be able to produce brand-new starships and soldiers continuously. Even if they suffered setbacks in certain battlefields, an army of iron ten times larger would soon drown the entire battlefield, the planet, and the entire space zone. It was the great power of the great industrialization, the combination of spiritual energy and technology. Such supreme power was incomprehensible for the idiotic creatures and the low-level civilizations who had enjoyed billions of years of peace in the warmth of spiritual energy!

Just as the voice said, the process of the Primeval Lord of Heaven conquering the universe was a replica of the process when human beings walked out of Africa and conquered the Earth.

The Void Hunters, the Mountain Giant Crab, and the thousands of other species in space perished for the same reason as the mammoths and the saber-toothed tigers.

As top predators, they had lost the determination and courage to evolve. Without natural enemies, there was no need to change. The abundant spiritual energy gave them a long life. Even the genes that they inherited were not as urgent. The word ‘life’ had been corrupted by the spiritual gas to the point that they were no longer able to fight back when a new, fiercer, more determined, and ambitious species appeared. It was too late for them to make any changes!

Besides, the Primeval Lord of Heaven, who had developed from human beings on Earth, had experienced countless plots and schemes. In order to annihilate their own kind, they were willing to wage three world wars. After ten thousand years of seclusion and ten thousand years of forbearance, their brutality and sordidness were beyond the imagination of the alien species in space. They would not be foolish enough to fight against the alien species in space!

“When the golden horn was blown, billions of starships and tanks charged at the alien species in space, and countless primordial creatures built the glory of civilization with their own blood and bodies. It was just an exaggerated rhetoric.

Most of the time, the war was carried out in a more secretive and dark way.

The sharpest weapons of the saber-toothed tigers and the mammoths were their claws and tusks, but the sharpest weapons of the Primeval Lord of Heaven were not the cannons and warships but their brains and their minds.

Corroding the nerves of the Void Hunters with the dreams that were full of black venom and raising their greed and hatred for the giant alien species such as the Hill Crab, dozens of Void Hunters were gathered to sweep the planet of the Hill Crab.

Or, they could steal an egg of a fast-breeding alien insect that was specially designed to gnaw on plants and, after genetic modification, throw it into the natural paradises that were full of primitive forests on a large scale. The ecological system of the natural paradises would be destroyed, and the top predators living there would be forced to migrate to other natural paradises. Conflicts between the top predators would break out, and the Primeval Lord of Heaven would reap all the benefits.

Their double-dealing, double-dealing, and sowing discord... The schemes and plots of the Primeval Clan ignited the flames of war in the entire Universe Ocean. Compared to the cunning Primeval Clan, most of the alien species in space were as childish as the children in kindergarten. Even though the children all boasted tremendous strength, how could they not be played by the adults?

In the end, only the alien species that were relatively weak and thus developed a complicated social system and a low-level civilization were able to resist the march of the Primordial Beginning Clan.

It was as if the voice had once told Li Yao that the thinner the spiritual energy of a Sector was, the more complex its social form would be, the more advanced its civilization would be, and the more powerful its combat ability would be. It was also possible for them to carry out certain schemes.

But right now, the Primeval Civilization had conquered a lot of natural paradises and tamed almost a thousand alien species. They had millions of fully-automatic military bases and space docks. Almost every second, dozens of brand-new warships would be refined and sent to the frontline. The resistance of the low-level civilizations was meaningless except to postpone their doom.

As part of the test, Li Yao, as the supreme commander, commanded all the fleets of the Primeval Civilization and swept across the entire Universe Ocean.

Compared to the struggles of the spores and the reptiles in the ancient era, the desperation to face the apocalypse before the destruction of the planet, and the prolonged exploration in the darkness for ten thousand years, the glorious battle of conquest right now was unbelievably easy.

Whatever choice he made, it was the right one. Even if he suffered a setback in a battlefield, three to five times the number of reinforcements would arrive very soon. There was no alien species that could not be resolved by ten thousand starships roaring at the same time. If they did exist, he would increase their combat ability by ten times and ask for a hundred thousand of them!

Li Yao thought of a saying: As long as you learn the operations of the Primeval Clan, nothing else will be a problem. All you need to do is sweep across everything.

Although the boundless sea of the universe was countless times larger than that of Earth, it only took the Primeval Lord of Heaven several million years to become the well-deserved dominator.

Crushing mountains and destroying temples, slaying demons and devils, sweeping away all kinds of monsters. The blood-stained epic had been created and carved on billions of shining stars. There was no power in the entire sea of stars that could erase it!

In the long history of conquest, after absorbing the advantages of all the alien species and the low-level civilizations, the technology level and individual capability of the Primeval Civilization had soared, too. The Supreme Emperor was right. They had embedded the strongest genes of countless alien species into their gene strands and evolved, evolved, and evolved. They now boasted the ability to absorb spiritual energy, summon wind and rain, and even tear apart the four-dimensional space!

While deducing the progress of the Primeval Civilization and reflecting on the formidability of the ancient human beings, Li Yao found it odd, too.

Judging from the history of conquests that lasted millions of years, the Primeval Lord of Heaven had explored hundreds of space zones with abundant spiritual energy and discovered a lot of low-level civilizations and alien species, but he had never found any traces of the ‘flood’.

At least, the flood did not exist when the Primeval Civilization rose. Then, where did the ultimate destructive force that intimidated the Primeval Civilization come from?

Li Yao even felt that what the Primeval Lord of Heaven had done over the past millions of years was more like an out-and-out flood!

Such ancestors awed, worshipped, and terrified him.

While he was confused, the progress of the test had reached the point when the Primeval Civilization conquered most of the enemies and almost reached the entire sea of stars. All the options in front of his eyes suddenly froze. Then, they turned gray and vanished. The only thing left was an option that Li Yao had overlooked a moment ago, which was emitting bloody brilliance.

It was a policy-type option named ‘Obliteration Order’.

The content was...

“Are we going to annihilate all the carbon-based intelligent creatures except the Primeval Lord of Heaven?”

Li Yao was greatly alarmed. “Even those who have surrendered and been tamed will not be spared? Are they going to go extinct in every space zone and planet? What—”

“You’ve just made your second mistake. It is very likely that the entire Primeval Civilization will perish.

The voice said gloomily, “Now, correct your mistake and implement the ‘Obliteration Order’!”

“Why—why?”

Li Yao stammered, “The Primeval Civilization has conquered so many fertile worlds with abundant spiritual energy and defeated all the enemies. Even the most brutal alien species in space were tamed and became the absolute dominators of the entire sea of the universe. Isn’t it enough? Do you have to destroy all the carbon-based intelligent creatures except yourself? Do you have to destroy the diversity of life forms and the endless possibilities of evolution? Is it necessary?”

“Of course it is. Can you imagine two kinds of intelligent creatures living on the ancient Earth living in harmony and developing together?”

The voice said casually, “The ancestors of the Primeval Clan were Homo sapiens. They did not even let go of their own kind, the Neanderthals, and ate them alive. That was how they took control of the planet.

“However, the Universe Ocean is billions of times larger than Earth!

“Can’t there be two kinds of intelligent creatures in such a vast universe?” Li Yao asked.

“No matter how vast the universe is, there are limits, but our ambitions are limitless.

The voice said, “Two tigers cannot live on the same mountain. The roots of the grass must be removed. It is a simple logic that all the ancient earthlings know. Can’t you understand it?”

“But they are... intelligent creatures!”

“Some of them even established their own civilizations,” Li Yao said. “Even the lowliest civilizations have their own emotions, arts, and countless things beyond their natural instincts, don’t they? Are they going to be wiped out and erased?”

“You got to the point.”

The voice was calm. “If they are truly ignorant animals, it is not a bad idea to keep them alive under the strict supervision in order to maintain the diversity of the species of the Primeval Civilization. But the intelligent creatures, especially the intelligent creatures that evolved into civilizations, all boast immeasurable potential and threats. Every one of them might remember the deep hatred for the extinction of a nation and its species and brand the hatred toward the Primeval Race into their genes and soul so that it can be passed on forever. They are like time bombs that might explode at any moment and destroy the hard-earned dominion of the sea of stars and the entire Primeval Civilization.

“Don’t put such a brilliant and great civilization in unnecessary danger just because you are softhearted.
