Chapter 630: Chapter 627: Melinda’s Past

As soon as Lin Bingxuan began the energy transmission, Melinda’s beautiful eyes widened in surprise, feeling as if her whole body was surrounded by a warm sensation, bringing about an indescribable comfort!

However, what shocked Melinda even more was yet to come. With her keen eyes, she could naturally see that the miraculous energy Lin Bingxuan transmitted to her wasn’t entirely within the scope of True Qi.

The extremely pure energy slowly circulated through Melinda’s meridians, gradually repairing the internal injuries along its path, and even some old wounds subtly showed signs of recovery under that miraculous energy.

Soon, Melinda felt an unbearable tingling sensation in her chest, involuntarily twisting her body.

Noticing Melinda’s odd reaction, Lin Bingxuan’s Liu Mei furrowed slightly and asked somewhat curiously, ”What’s wrong? Are you feeling uncomfortable?”

Melinda’s face flushed red at once, but she understood that it was a precursor to her wounds healing, and quickly said, ”No, I’m fine!”

After a moment, Lin Bingxuan slowly withdrew the energy and said, ”I noticed you’ve sustained some old injuries before. These can’t be rushed; otherwise, they might have the opposite effect!”

At this moment, Melinda’s face was full of gratitude, as having her injuries heal was already the greatest surprise to her, and she dared not wish for more.

However, the next words from Lin Bingxuan, seemingly light and casual, made her eyes suddenly brighten.

”However, I do have a method, it just takes a bit longer!”

”Really?” Melinda, momentarily excited, grabbed Lin Bingxuan’s arms, her eyes full of hope.

Before, due to those old injuries, Melinda felt she would never recover in this lifetime, leading her to rapidly enhance her own strength.

Yet, the immense challenge of further improvement remained, and now hearing Lin Bingxuan actually had a way, how could she not feel excited.

Lin Bingxuan didn’t answer but simply placed her hand against Melinda’s lower abdomen, continuously outputting a large amount of pure energy.

After a while, Melinda watched the old wounds wrapped securely by the energy with surprise. Although the repair was indeed very slow, it was undeniably effective!

”Alright!” Lin Bingxuan said somewhat wearily, ”As long as you nurture it slowly, combined with your own improvement in strength, I believe it will fully recover in less than half a year!”

”Th-thank you...” Seeing Lin Bingxuan in front of her, with sweat beading on her forehead and appearing slightly tired, Melinda’s eyes reddened slightly, surrounded by a warm feeling.

Melinda grew up in an environment filled with deceit and trickery, and in her memory, since her parents left, she had never felt this way again.

Having no good friends or sisters, she developed a self-reliant and independent character. Although to outsiders, Melinda appeared to be a highly assertive woman of strength, only she likely understood the inner hardship!

If it weren’t absolutely necessary, who would willingly face difficulties alone?!

Before she knew it, a tear slid down Melinda’s face. She closed her eyes, desperately wanting to imprint this feeling deeply in her heart, afraid she would never experience it again.

Although Xiao Tian could bring her a similar feeling, to Melinda, they were two completely different things. Both feelings were equally heartwarming yet not the same.

In Melinda’s heart, these two feelings had no hierarchy, both worthy of her remembrance and treasuring!

Lin Bingxuan gently wiped away Melinda’s tears, then patted her shoulder for comfort, softly asking, ”Why are you crying?”

”Whew...” Melinda opened her eyes, exhaling a long breath, looking at Lin Bingxuan with utmost sincerity, then stepping back a step and bending deeply at the waist, she said, ”Thank you, for letting me feel this long-lost warmth!”

Lin Bingxuan hurriedly supported her up, holding Melinda’s slightly cold hand, then said, ”You don’t have to do this!”

Melinda, however, gave a bitter smile, ”Since childhood, there haven’t been many people good to me. Though it looks like I have strength beyond reach for ordinary people, the things ordinary people have, I’ve never had!”

”For example, every girl would have a few good sisters.” Melinda spoke to herself, seemingly speaking to Lin Bingxuan, yet also to herself, ”But I...”

Lin Bingxuan’s smile faded quickly, questioning, ”Have you really never had a good friend since childhood?”

It wasn’t that Lin Bingxuan was deliberately uncovering Melinda’s scars, but saying someone never had friends since childhood was indeed hard to believe!

”Of course not!” Melinda said with a genuinely heartfelt smile on her face, ”I did have a few good friends, but they all left me for various reasons later on...”

...

Lost in thought for a long time, when Melinda came back to her senses, the sun had already set in the distance, leaving only the afterglow of sunset spreading across the earth, reflecting off the white snowy ground, involuntarily making her exclaim, ”How beautiful!”

”Yes!” Lin Bingxuan beside her also said sincerely.

”Ah!”

Melinda exclaimed, realizing that so much time had passed, and Lin Bingxuan had been quietly at her side, not leaving even once.

”I-I’m sorry!” Melinda showed an apologetic smile and said, ”I’m a little...”

Before she could finish, Lin Bingxuan gently shook her head, smilingly stopping her explanation.

During Melinda’s absent-minded spell, Lin Bingxuan, reflecting on her words, roughly pieced together an understanding of her character.

It seemed Melinda had too high expectations for the few friends she had, and after emotional breakdowns, she closed herself off, no longer daring to easily entrust her emotions to others. Hence, she developed such an externally strong yet internally soft personality!

Honestly, Lin Bingxuan felt some sympathy for her, pondering that if she were in Melinda’s shoes, she might not do any better!

Thinking this, Lin Bingxuan reached out and held Melinda’s hand earnestly, saying, ”If possible, I can be your friend!”

Melinda immediately became a little flustered, instinctively pulling back the hand that was held, but then she immediately stopped, feeling the warmth from Lin Bingxuan’s hand, making it feel somewhat unreal for a moment.

This scene was something Melinda couldn’t even dream of. The word ”friend” was both too familiar and overwhelmingly alien to her!

The gradually warming palm reminded Melinda that none of this was a dream. Seeing Lin Bingxuan’s sincere gaze, she suddenly tightened her grip on her hand and nodded, ”Okay!”

The two hands held tightly together, and Melinda only felt like being in a hot spring. After a long while, her face slightly flushed, she said, ”Can... I call you sister?” The cautious and careful tone was a stark contrast to earlier!

This transformation from a strong woman to a little girl didn’t seem too abrupt to Lin Bingxuan.
